Dust 514 is slowly shaping into what EVE is

Good ol' infiltration!
Now we just need to teach them that there is no such thing as "Cheap play" in New Eden :D

What I wonder is, will DUST survive the same tactics (running away from fights, blobbery, etc) that Eve has?

Yeah yeah sandbox, normal, go back to WoW, Marsha Marsha Marsha and all that.

But if that's supposed to be OK, keep in mind that DUST is an FPS game and people come there to shoot and get shot, not play cat and mouse and intrigue fu.

So if it becomes just like Eve an too many ways, it's a different audience and they are probably not going to like it. They'll "Go back to COD".

What's the point of meta-gaming and all of this hoopla in DUST anyway?

I'm probably just uniformed but aren't they just 5-15m long FPS matches over and over?

Oh I know that, and their tears are indeed quite enjoyable. I had quite a bit of fun playing with him on that thread. I was just disappointed that he hadn't returned in the morning for moar Sad

No, not really.
Sure most weapons don't have much range (they're working on a fix to that), but there is much more to it.
You need to think about troop movement, tank support (Supporting your tanks and your tanks supporting you), logistics, heck even squad formation is sometimes needed so you won't shoot each other, which is already more complex than EVE Big smile
