zKillboard is a new approach by EveKill to killboards using fresh ideas and modern technologies. It's different, but it's a good different. The developers are Karbowiak and Squizz Caphinator, with insight and directions from many others.

Please keep in mind zKB is currently beta and there are lots of things to be done yet.

Issues:
- No campaigns yet.
- Other various minor things which you may or may not notice :)

zKillboard is open source and can be found here:

https://github.com/EVE-KILL/zKillboard

Please feel free to give your constructive feedback.

Your killboard is only usable when I zoom completely out via Ctrl+mouse wheel, but by that time I cannot read a thing. Otherwise it takes everything from eve-kill.net and makes it twice as hard to read.

I think it looks kind of snazzy, but the way to which you get to individual kill reports from the lists seems unintuitive compared to eve-kill. In fact in a related kill report, I wasn't able to find a way to quickly go to a specific kill report without scrolling down to the bottom.

Also related kills doesn't show how many more will be involved. When I am hunting for a good kill report, I often use that number to find the most complete report.

Also, I don't see a way to see kills/losses broken down by month. There seems to be a lot of information that is missing, I hope you bring it all back in some way or another.

I really like it, especially using bootstrap - always saves a billion hours using that framework.

I'm wondering how you got such accurate market data - were you using the eve market relay or some other system?

Love the layout - simple and to the point.

Where's the source though? Blink

looks terrible.

No ship fitting screen (not talking about EFT fit, but fitting visualization)

Dont try to copy that useless Battle Clinic KB with the way dropped/destroyed items are shows - we need proper visible distinction (like you have it right now with green background on dropped items)
To much information, to big boxes for each thing, we need it more condensed.

I just wanted to let you know I got the error, "SMTP Error: Could not authenticate. Mail error: SMTP Error: Could not authenticate." when I registered for the site. I can still login.

Eve-kill seems to forget pilots kills all the time now. As an enormous killboard *****, I check my main's killboards religiously, lately every time I look it says I either have no kills or only shows a few recent months of kills. Is this likely to be fixed soon or are we looking at a complete transition to the Zkillboard. I'm also a bit concerned that on EVEKill I have 1700 kills on a particular pilot but only 1100 on the Zboard.
Damn nature, you scary!

The size thing we are looking at, but it's hard to do much about, since bootstrap was made to look like this..

the related kill stuff will be overhauled and made easier to navigate and use :)
As for the number of involved, i think we put that onto the page :)

pagination and such is still missing, it is in the code, we just havn't found a way to show and make use of it yet :)

We use EVE-Central i think, and just update the prices often. and otherwise take alot of smarter approaches to pricing (such as BPO/BPC stuff)

Source is coming once we're done - once we're content with what we have made, we will bring more people aboard to help make it even more awesome :)

Fitting screen is coming back, no worries. As for dropped/destroyed, we have taken much of the rage into concideration and have improved it to a point where we hope and think everyone will be happy.

As for information, we show less information on the page than EDK does, it's bigger yes, but that's mainly cause we're using bootstrap to ease development.

Yes, the SMTP stuff can error sometimes, not much we can do about it :(

EVE-KILL is horribly broken, so broken that we started working on zKB instead of trying to fix it. So in a month or two, we're swapping EDK for zKB meaning zKillboard will go onto eve-kill.net - we will still have eve-kill in on a different subdomain for those of you who can't let it go.

As for mails, yes, we are moving all mails from EVE-KILL over to zKB, so your stats should look perfectly fine once we get that done :)

tl;dr: Eve-Kill is now zKillboard's *****.

Many of you already know that zKillboard is Eve-Kill's project on a new killboard. One of the big improvements we were able to make with zKB is the ability for efficient KillLog fetching and parsing.

Some history: zKB initially fed from Eve-Kill for several months using a shared cached system (that Eve-Kill was in charge of). Then zKB became more mature and began doing its own KillLog fetches while also using the same shared cache system.. And now zKB is in charge of this shared cache and eve-kill is feeding all kills from this cache.

In short, rather than me rambling I'll bullet point how this will improve kill fetching overall:

- More efficient and reliable KillLog fetching.
- Better error handling (<3 you CCP)
- Integrated corp director key fetches. If you have four directors each with their own corp key, then zKB can fetch new kills 4 times an hour! (CEO counts as a director)
- Don't worry, API verified kills on EveKill will still show up as.... api verified.

Next on my list of things to do is importing the ~12 million manually posted killmails from Eve-Kill to zKB. Now that, my friends, will be fun...

In the meantime, feel free to ask any questions or say EveKill sucks. You suck too, now go get some kills!

i for one like the look and feel of this zkillboard. it is about time we get some more funky **** instead of the old standardized looks and feels to killboards. i am quite looking forward to hopefully in the future set my own corp up with this board instead of the out-dated EDK.

The only reason that people still uses battleclinic is the general rankings (alliances, corporations and pilots)
Should be a good idea to make something like that :)

Does have a much better look and feel to it... once you adapt.

The other kb's are dated, the only thing they have going for them is history.

One thing I did notice though, km's don't seem to display values > 1B?

The 1B+ valued mods all show as 999,999,999.99

Nice find! Seems we made a mistake in the template engine for formatting those numbers. *fixed*

Looks good. WTB some proper API documentation though.

How much isk are you willing to pay? :)

Anyhow, its funny that you mention that as we just overhauled the API documentation. Enjoy!

This is because zKB only has API verified kills at the moment. So that 600 kill discrepancy means there are 600 kills that zKB doesn't have the CCP provided xml.

Yes, we will be importing manual mails, so no worries about that.
