Hello again everyone. I've got another change planned for our Rubicon 1.3 patch to announce.

With the massive influx of new players into EVE recently, we're seeing corporations begin to bump against the existing maximum membership levels. Last time this happened, CCP added a new skill (Sovereignty).

We're not completely satisfied with the system of corporation management skills currently in place and their use in setting hard caps, but rather than wait until we have time for a full revamp we're going to act now to relieve the pressure and then approach the issue in a more comprehensive way at some later point.

So in Rubicon 1.3 we are doubling the effect of all four of the Corporation Management skills that affect corp membership limits.
Corporation Management will provide +20 members per level.
Megacorp Management will provide +100 members per level.
Empire Control will provide +400 members per level.
Sovereignty will provide +2000 members per level.

This places the new cap at 12600 members, which should last the Brave Newbies at least another week or two.

I oppose this for reasons I have yet to think of.

We in Goonswarm have long cried out, as a voice in the wilderness, about the dangers of allowing new players any sort of foothold in this game. One moment you're sitting there in your T2 ships gloating over bullying them into a single system in Syndicate, and before you know it they'll have taken half the Eve cluster and be camping you into a backwater in Detorid.

Don't come crying to us when it turns out that this dev blog marked the beginning of the end so fearlessly warned of by Trent Reznor.

Is CCP secretly getting funds from Brave Newbies now?

So does this mean that Brave Newbies are secretly controlling CCP now instead of Goonswarm? "Brave Newbdevs" doesn't sound nearly as good as "Devswarm".

I don't like this idea.
The bigger corporations leads to bigger alliances , bigger alliances to bigger coalitions - so easier to get blue.

It is better to have some limits ,this way more corporations can exists, and this will have positive effect on limiting the bloob.

I would like to see a downward force on the size of an alliance or corporation. Realistically looking at null sec it's obvious that just having more in the blob means you can control more space, but there's no reason for an alliance to shed members because of scare resources.

Looking at the bloc level map it seems like you really need to iron out those details before putting a rubber stamp on more blobby alliances.

How are the tools going to scale to this number of players? While running Dreddit we'd frequently find issues with the existing interfaces and the current maximum number of pilots.
