What Happened to Faction FoF Missiles?

I've been looking for many hours to find an LP store which can supply the Faction FoF missiles. I can't find any which stock them! They appear in the market, but, Faction Stores don't have them.

This is really irritating, because, I'd like to use the FoF missiles for my current mission. Those missiles which are on the market currently are hideously expensive and in very short supply. So is there an LP store which stocks them? Or are they dropped? How do you get these?

It is frustrating, I am a heavy user of FoF missiles and have blueprints for all the available tech1 types.. But Faction FoF missiles (I will never call them "Auto-Targeting", why did CCP think that was a good change anyways?) drop the same as and are treated the same as Pirate faction ammo such as Domination EMP and Dread Guristas Scourge. ie, They don['t drop a lot, or in many places.

Like many things in EVE, the 'special ammos' are a relic of forgotten and half baked plans.
Pirate faction tags are the same way, you kill a Commander Spawn in an anomaly and it always has a Tag, and those tags are worthless.

CCP needs to do a top down PVE rewards/drops/lp stores content review, and when they do that not only can that give us a good way to get Faction high damage ammo (including Fofs) and a use for faction spawn tags, they can also rethink why things like freaking Capital Scanning Rigs exist in the 1st place...

I believe faction FoFs were in most LP stores for a while but they weren't all that great back then so they mostly got ignored, and then suddenly they were gone.

probably because they auto target and are not true friend or foe in nature

This. They were there and then got removed. FoF fits with drone aggro the way it was was too OP for PvE content in safe areas. So to reduce the dps possible no ships have FoF bonuses, the high damage missile types dont exist and neither does faction anymore.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

I too came across this head-scratcher a few weeks back.

I almost bankrupted myself by carelessly almost buying a stack of the expensive ones.
Caught myself at the last millisecond.

EVE never ceases to be full of surprises and little complexities.

Just curious: what people use FoF missiles these days for? I was always sure they are worthless.

The only purpose for them afaik is killing bombs currently. Is it really popular?

No, there are a few other uses as the afk nature leads to some rather interesting passive fits for pve content that is basically brainless.Blink

You're thinking Defender Missiles.

They're really useful when your sensors are jammed out

They are useful for when your sensors are jammed out. They are also useful for when you purposefully mess up your targeting capability by fitting warp core stabilisers.

The purpose behind my recent creation was to fit a ship with FoF missile launchers and warp core stabilisers. Along with a really awesome tank. The intention of using it as a bait ship, where I would sit in an enemy complex and wait for something to happen. I'd call for reinforcements, and hold out. If my tank was broken I'd simply warp off.

The problem for me is that with FoF missiles us that not only am I taking a DPS nerf, but, I'm also forced to use standard ammo in a PvP engagement. Which is quite pathetic. The only reason that FoF missiles are useless is because CCP made it so - by removing them from the damned game.

Also, March rabbit. I do use FoF missiles a lot for PvE. They are great for destroying combat sites when you don't really want to target every single ship. Warp to site. Activate FoF missiles. Go get coffee. Profit. This works well enough with standard ammo.

The short answer is they were removed. Why - I couldn't say (though with the sorry state missiles are in, they could certainly be reintroduced).
