After the redesign I have zero inclination to fly one, either. Nevermind the fact that it's probably one of the weaker carriers, so the current design was one of the few selling points. If you don't think aesthetics are important you haven't been playing long enough...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Sorry, but this is quite possibly the worst ship redesign that you guys have come up with. While I appreciate that time and effort has gone into this, you should really scrap it and start fresh from the beginning.

you are 100% correct. i do not like the redesign. it tastes like a rokh adn kind of has hyperion elements.

Just going to add my view on it.

Short = I hate the new model it's ugly.

Long = The current model has lots of small detail to it so when you look at the ship even in the viewer it looks big. You can look at and go "that is a big ship".
The new one on the other hand lacks that. I was looking at it in the viewer on the test server and I couldn't tell if I was looking at a carrier or a cruiser.
Another factor is the general shape of the ship. While other ships you have redone played to the old models strengths (Caracal & Cormirant) where there where some and others did not preserve anything due to the terrible model (blackbird & Moa) but the current Chimera is a beautiful ship but it feels as if you have kept none of it and completely overhauled it like the Blackbird and Moa the new model other than general orientation and rough shape pays no homage to the old.
Just look at some of the old lore video's in particular like Day of darkness. While new player would see the old Dominix and then look for it in game they would recognize the new one as the Dominix just updated as it pays homage to the old model.
If a new player where to see Day of darkness would they recognize the new Chimera as a Chimera without seeing the name?
I don't think so.

Just don't go with this model CCP. While all the others you have hit a home run with this one is no good and there was bound to be one or two witch the player base does not like I just hope you listen when this many people are vocal about their distaste for the new model and choose to try again.

1) I love the design and fly one.

2) I've played about 2x as long as you have, and no - aesthetics matters next to 0.

Osprey is great and one of the few remaining regiments of caldari ship design I'm in no hurry for it to meat its brothers is some of the most generic looking ships I have seen in a space game

Lugh, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We like what we like. I like symmetry, others may not.

And you do know you cannot discuss taste because it would lead to nowhere-land.

I am not pleased with the recent Blackbird hull because I very much liked the older model better. The new Cormorant looks cool but wasn't really in need of a new model, in my opinion.

1– CCP, thanks for your hard work in this amazin game.

2–Shocked , please don’t do it, the current chimera looks gorgeous, and for a lot of player base the esthetics its important for chose the road, when some new omega see the new model probably will chose to inverts the 170+ days of training in other line, and this one will be just one of these good ships no one want cause its ugly. please don’t make that to the chimera.Straight

3-please, dont do it... this new model its just ugly.

+1
The rot started when the Rokh was introduced, and it has only been made worse since. While the Caldari have been most impacted by this weak artistic direction, the other races have also suffered.
This systematic destruction of the artistic vision which was once so strong across the game is one of the great tragedies.

I am particularly salty because the cormorant just finished getting "the treatment"; I do sometimes wish they'd stop turning this game into generic-pretty-spaceships-online.

So non-generic ugly ships are better for games? *sigh*

I admire CCP past efforts to be original at all cost, but this often resulted in skewed hulls, non proportional, non symetrical heaps of broken garbage, lumpy potatos, ****** textures, and overly arcane and primitive at the same time shapes. Look at imicus and tell me what is so good about it, other than that it has been so long in the game that you learned to love it, Its like a mutated caterpilar, with one mutated leg sticking out, that is adorable in the way it tries to fly around without wings and only warp engines strapped to its back. Some people love it because of that incapacitated look. Osprey is similar case.

The ones who like the new design, (me and almost everyone I know in game) think you did a fantastic job with the new model. Shield emitters are my favorite part. I'd love to see some warping or networked sensor array animations attached to carriers next. Caldari aren't about big spooky ships they are about sleek hulls and cutting edge shield technology. I am hoping the Phoenix gets the same weight trimmed and falls in like just like the Chimera.
