What's up with Heavy Defender Missiles?

#1 - 2017-03-20 23:55:39 UTC
Until recently I used to just reprocess Heavy Defender Missiles when I got them as drops. Now I can't reprocess them, or sell them, or trash them. The only thing I have been able to figure out is to go out my front door and fling them out into space. At least with junk mail I can throw it in the garbage or in may case I just pulled my mailbox and now my post office has to deal it.

So is this a new bug and I'm the only one that doesn't know about it? Is there a better solution than cluttering up the front of my space station? Does anyone else have this problem? Just curious.

Please advise.

If I recall correctly the minimal amount of munitions required to activate reprocessing is 100. I'm not sure if it also applies to selling. Trashing items should always be available, no matter what the item amount is.

On another note, have you cleared your cache files in Esc menu - 'Reset Settings' tab ?

That usually helps to clear out little annoying bugs that show up after game patch release.

I had same problem. Had over 100. Couldn't reprocess

I had the same experience, and I had a stack of 300. I even left them till I logged on the next day and still could do none of the conventional things you can do with looted stacks of ammo.

Yeah, back when CCP was still trying to make them even slightly more than completely worthless, they split Defender Missile's up into light and heavy sizes to match the HP buffs CCP simultaneously gave to offensive missiles. Before that every missile type had the same HP amount, 40 I think, then CCP altered them to have increasing amounts as you go up the size scale. Heavy Defenders worked better than Light Defenders but took up more volume of cargo and had less missile velocity, if I recall, making it important to pick the right one for the right missile to counter I suppose. Heavy Defenders had the punch to counter larger missiles, but couldn't out fly smaller missiles, and Light Defenders could catch smaller missiles, but couldn't really do enough damage to counter larger missiles properly.

Honestly even that couldn't save the Defender system obviously and CCP would eventually turn them into what they are now: a strictly anti-bomb system deployed from Destroyers.
