"This week in EVE" is a weekly overview of EVE Online related news and events. It shows what is going on in EVE Online. The focus of this overview is on official news from CCP. The previous overview is here.

The current "This week in EVE" gives an overview of February 11 to 17

Dev blogs and news
To Inception and beyond - Feedback
Inception, our new player experience (NPE), is a good start into EVE Online. We introduced Inception with the Ascension expansion on November 2016. Thanks to all your feedback and stats, we are ready for the second step! Aura provides now better assistance in the NPE. We also have reduced the complexity of station visits. Furthermore, we have improved the User Interface and the "Empire's Might" site.

Sleeping beauty - How one of the oldest bugs in EVE got hunted down and resolved - Feedback
One of the oldest bugs in EVE Online got fixed! CCP Snorlax is the hero of this story. Join him on his bug-hunting adventure. Enjoy the thrilling story behind this bug lurking in the code. Read the dev blog, and learn how you will benefit from this glorious bug hunt!

The future of probe and directional scanning UI - Feedback
Exploring your surrounding is a fundamental activity in EVE. For exploration you utilize probes and the directional scanner. Our team wants to improve the scanning user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). Enjoy better awareness, probe handling, window management and layout! We aim to release these improvements in March. There are no major gameplay changes, "just" UI and UX improvements. Check out CCP Claymore's answers to some questions!

Fanfest 2017 - Party On Top Of The World Lineup Announced!
Party like there is no tomorrow! Join Fanfest 2017 and the Party On Top Of The World. This year, we have DJ Kristian Nairn as special guest - better known as "Hodor" from Games of Thrones. Make no mistake, CCP's epic rock band Permaband will also entertain you with a glorious show! Fanfest tickets are available!

February release YC 119.2 has been deployed
On February 14, we have published the EVE Online release YC 119.2. The release brings an exciting event and lots of bug fixes. Check out the various resources! EVE Updates (high level overview), patch notes (full details), feedback and known issues. We hope that you will enjoy this release!

CSM 11 Summit II - Minutes Have Been Released
The CSM 11 had its second summit with CCP in Reykjavik, Iceland. The CSM is the democratically player-elected EVE Online council. At this summit we discussed a wide range of topics. Involved were CSM, developers, producers and executives. You can explore the details in the PDF summit meeting minutes (53 pages).

The Permaband wants YOU!
The famous Permaband, CCP's rock band, wants YOU! Join us in the weeks leading to Fanfest 2017. Show your skills (short video), sing a verse or two from Killing Is Just a Means. Hurry, the submission deadline is February 18!

Chronicle - Sine Wave: Alpha
The introduction of new (alpha) cloning technology has raised many questions in New Eden. Some suspect the roots of the technology are not as they seem. Check out this Chronicle; the first of two episodes!

Independent Gaming Commission Announces Sponsorship of EVE NT Championships
The Independent Gaming Commission (IGN) is sponsoring the EVE NT Championships. The sponsorship covers exclusive IGN SKINs. Check out the EVE NT schedule. Don't miss the next league event on Feb 19 and 26!

Audio and Video
o7: The EVE Online Show - Episode 22
The o7 show is a regular broadcast from CCP HQ in Iceland. The show features player actions and developer news. This time, we have a huge amount of news and updates for you! Links to specific segments are available in the video description.

The Scope – DED Releases Details On Guardian Angels Infrastructure
Lina Ambre reports on the location of Guardian Angels smuggling sites. Who released that information and how was it published? The Federal Intelligence Office handed over the data to the Directive Enforcement Department (DED). Afterwards, DED broadcasted the locations to all independent capsuleers.

Graphics
Killmark on ships - how?
When does your ship hull receive a killmark? CCP Darwin explains the details! Side note, it doesn't matter if a pilot is an Alpha or Omega subscriber.

Testing and test servers
Releases - why do they work on test servers, but not on TQ?
A player might wonder "CCP should have tested this themselves/I can't believe this got past testing/do you even QA bro?". CCP Lebowski explains the details and provides background information.

Various
Alliance logo updates
You can submit a custom alliance logo if your alliance meets certain requirements. Learn more about the logo submission here. Currently the submitted, yet notdeployed logos are being processed. This next group of logos will be uploaded within the next two weeks.

Updated aggregated yearly character stats
The data behind https://characterstats.tech.ccp.is was just updated. This data shows the aggregated yearly stats of your character. Check it out, for example here and here. Further info about the aggregated yearly stats is here.

It's clear to me from CCP's postings here like "The future of probe and directional scanning UI - Feedback" and the "February release of YC 119.2" that CCP is fully committed to continuing to work hard to provide an ever-better Eve experience for all of us. Thanks for all your hard work

I got the Hecate skin, but I can't activate it. It always tells me:

Hecate YC119 Guardian's Gala 'Spirit' Edition SKIN (Permanent) is not a SKIN license.

And it also doesn't appear in the skin section of my character sheet.

Worse news regarding the Guardian's Gala SKINS.

The skins for Anshar, Iteron Mark V and Talos aren't dropping at all.
Please give a fix for this CCP.
Pretty please...

P.s. love the SKINS and the event.

Ahoy CCP!
Like the skins, Gallente ships needed some polishing, and glitter paint...
Some of my favorite are missing, as mentioned above. Also, when all the hype around it dies down, hope they become available on the EvE store... whatever it's called again.
Nice work BTW, I have my favorites already. Vexor hull, Domi Hull, and Tristan looks real mean.

only thing I'm not stoked about is the change of the D-scan cone from blue to green. Red and Green everywhere--oh boy, more Xmas colors, and oh boy, even harder to tell apart if you're colorblind.

I'd have been fine with changing it to a grey, but green seems a rather icky choice. Ooh, why not let us pick the colors?!

Think we'll be able to buy them with AUR after the event? I know telling us anything may affect the ISK price now, lol. Just curious.
