Former player returning after a 3 year hiatus - new skills?

I've been out of the loop for the last few years but have decided to reprise my old character - I know there have been a slew of new skills introduced, ship specific as well as general support and navigation...

Broad question: which new skills should I focus on?

My character was geared more towards PvE and/or small fleet activities but I'd be looking to branch out a bit this time around.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I don't think many would apply to PVE.

Maybe have a look at drones as they changed a few around but for sub caps it was mostly a few splits and name changes. Otherwise the sensor compensation skills if you are fighting gurista.

PS, I think there was a similar post a couple of months back that listed all the skills. Might be worth while searching for it.

Look at ships you're interested in flying in the ship tree. The info sheet has a requirements tab and a mastery tab. These will show required and recommended skills respectively. Not a lot has changed in PVE. Same missions, same ships, most of the old fits still work. - a lot depends on what you mean by "a few|" years!

I think I'd like to start with a blockade runner (I'm thinking a Prowler) and I'm also interested in exploring W-space and maybe try my hand at a bit of PvP if it comes up.

I also maxed out a bunch of command and leadership skills before I quit (skirmish warfare related) with the idea that I might try and get into a HAC (Vagabond) or possibly even a strategic cruiser (Loki) and explore null sec but it seems they've changed how fleet boosting works ("command bursts" are a new concept to me).

I've got two remaps and I think I'm currently mapped for Per/Will.

Andrew - I'll take a look for that post, I did initially look and couldn't find anything specific but I may have just missed it. If you come across it please post the link.
