Concord/Police topic on C&P

Concord has been the be all instantaneous death machine in the game making highsec still considerably safe compared to the rest of the game. The idea is simple and is a content creator for both new and old pilots.

Concord remains the same in 1.0 to .9 systems, rookie pilot systems and jita.
.8 to .5 instead of instant death a Concord interdictor lands near the scene of the crime and lights a bubble for only the flagged and suspected criminals on the field and a notification is sent with a fleet invite across the region to fight and kill or detain the criminals.

No instant death but a brawl and fun.

Ship skins and ships could be added
Standings raised or dropped based on ships killed...

What do you think?

So people are supposed to somehow manage to engage the criminal in that bubble after travelling from half-way across the region? How damn big will that bubble be for that to even have a chance to happen?

Id like concord to be nerfed to make way for players and player justice. But i doubt its going to happen.

Yeah no.

CONCORD is a punishment, it's how High Sec works. What you're suggesting here is another "make there be Low Sec between pockets of High Sec" idea, because if the gankers aren't guaranteed dead anymore then you're going to get a 200 man fleet with Logi camping Uedama and Niarja like an hour after a change like this goes live, and no one is ever going to organize enough to kill that.

Even if that fleet stands down you'll still have a dozen people in Bombers orbiting the gate torping every Freighter that passes through. Even if you left Gate Guns in place you can tank those with Logi and if you're not guaranteed dead you just need more bump-machs pushing stuff out of gate gun range.

Just no, this is a terrible idea. That C&P thread is a joke, you just didn't apparently realize that...

CONCORD police will respond to illegal aggression within 20 seconds anywhere in highsec. If you can put together a player militia capable of that, they should be able to replace CONCORD.

I would personally like to see the Faction navies take over the policing role with variable response time depending on the victims standing with the faction as well as system security status.

Someone thinking inside the box...

What about good old cops and robbers and no I'm not suggesting low sec pockets I'm suggesting content with Concord.
Flashy targets popping the freighters doesn't end with the swap of loot from ibis to freighter anymore if said loot is just marked stolen for a 20 minute timer. With that and being caught in a bubble by Concord interdiction it stays flashy till the timer runs out meaning the gankers get the loot.
But say the gankers are all killed off and now they lose their freighter, that stolen loot is detained at a Concord station for the rightful owner to pick it up and all those involved in saving that loot get a raise in standings with Concord, maybe skins and eventually ships that are police specific.

People will do things in order to get stuff done, you have no imagination so your stuck in a box.

Just let hisec flicker out on its own, and embrace the new nullsec for content. Trying to save hisec is a lost cause entirely. With all the focus on null for the past few years, it's a great place to be a newbie. Join Horde, Join Karmafleet, join TEST, just joining something puts the sort of players that would be easy targets in HiSec into a much better environment in every way - more income, more fleets, more sociability, and more opportunities to learn. The rule set is much more conducive to interesting play than the rather stagnant rule-set of hisec.

Stop trying to make hisec your private noob hunting ground. Grow up and leave hisec.

Nope, just thinking things through...

What you're suggesting just won't work. Waiting around for something to happen is boring, even three jumps away from a staging system full of people it can take more than 20 minutes to scramble a fleet in Null on a bad day. In High Sec you'd be lucky to get someone on-grid in a ship that wouldn't just immediately die to the gankers in 30 minutes. If you provide rewards for killing gankers people will just kill their own alts to get the rewards and then walk away.

Your idea here also requires that loot be moved by NPC action, which is a big no.

If you remove the penalty from ganking the result will be more ganking, not a big anti-ganking response. How you can not know this I have no idea. Burn Jita happens infrequently because it's relatively expensive to run and difficult to organize. If you turned .5 systems into a ganker paradise (never mind if you did it to everything outside of .9 and up) you'd basically just be turning High Sec into Low Sec. I know that's not what you intend but that would be the result. Also you seem to have no idea how much of the game is .8 to .5, you literally can't go more than 3 jumps in most places without leaving .9 or higher space.

Oh and there's literally no way for you to stop a neutral Freighter warping off without making it *really* easy to abuse this. If no one can warp off as soon as someone triggers Concord then I'm just going to shoot my buddy here using a T1 Frigate and oh look all these guys jumping into the system can't warp anymore...

Also Eve isn't setup to track items through space. A stacked item has a pointer to the base stats of the item and a quantity. It would be a massive amount of work to flag items as stolen, that's why the action of taking them is what's penalized, because that's easy to track.

So yeah, your suggestion as it's stated is bad and would not work. Which is fine because CCP is certainly never going to remove CONCORD from .5 and up systems, the only changes they've made to CONCORD in the last 14 years have been in exactly the opposite direction, making CONCORD impossible to avoid or tank, and banning anyone who manages either.

Speaking as a player, I don't want justice. I want explosions and tears. That does not make a good police force.

Everywhere I fly in high sec there are flashy targets, targets with low sec status and all of them are prime candidates for this player content you speak of, yet no one ever does anything about them what makes you think people will care simply because Concord?

-1 to this crazy idea. Concord is punishment for breaking the rules of engagement in high sec and it need to stay that way.
If you want these player driven police force ideas then go carve out your own little slice of EvE and do what you want with it.

At a guess they've actually played the game and can understand cause and effect... lol.

You clearly just want a massive nerf to consequences in High Sec. This would functionally turn large chunks of High Sec into Low Sec and everyone can see that. "Content" isn't an instant-win buzzword for your argument, and allowing people to blow up more stuff doesn't actually mean more content in the long run.

So....I'm not sure if you are aware of it, especially considering 98% of your frags are from HiSec (the most elite pvp), but nullsec has all the features you seem to be clamoring for already, especially the player controlled bit. If you want to play by more conductive rules, you may want to simply just change where you play the game.

How's it nerfing consequences if we put the power in the hands of the player to provide the said consequences, just with more fun. Capsuleers will be getting stargates, we have our own floating stations it's time that the law and order becomes ours as well.

Who, exactly, is going to show up to deal with a fleet of goons, PH, TEST, or whoever else is bored, when they bring a full fleet, a coherent doctrine, a full logistics wing and camp Niarja or Udema or wherever for literally days on end killing every single ship that comes in?

How is gaining the ability to sit there and kill every ship that comes near you with absolutely zero consequences not a nerf to consequences?

These highsec Mercs for one should be able to do something, and I didn't say Concord wouldn't be providing boosts and logi to it's deputies.

I wasn't aware highsec mercs were in the 250 man fleet fight business. Especially since most of them don't even HAVE 250 members.
