There is more to wh sites than being able to tank the dps. You need to be able to tank neuts. In some c6 sites you will face above -200 neuts, so you need to have surplus cap to resist that kind of pressure. Your paladin will not hold vs c6 neuts. No solo marauder can both tank the dps and neuts in any c6 site. You can simulate it on EFT\pyfa.

Even assuming you can tank the neuts there is the issue of remote rep. Some waves will be repping each other at around 500 ehp per second so good luck breaking through it with your 500 dps. Even if you were able to break the reps its gonna take a long long time. You are better off doing c4s in terms of isk per hour.

According to Rykii's Guide, you'll face minimum neut pressure of -90 GJ/s and a max of -216 GJ/s. You only have an excess of 30 GJ/s at max tank. You might be able to tank a few of the sites if you manage your cap and armor reppers carefully, but I'd be amazed if you can clear them with 522 DPS. That's one reason an armor tanked ship may not be best for this.

Jack Milton once posted an interesting looking Vargur fit that looks more promising:

People have been known to solo C5s in Marauders but I have't seen any examples of a truly solo C6. If you just want to play with fits to see it it's possible, jump onto SiSi. J124504 on the test server is a C6. It's a Red Giant but I don't think that would impact your testing.

Marauders in wormholes are simply loot pinatas begging to be busted open. That Bastion module WILL get you killed.

Use a cheap fit dread instead. Marauders for C5 max with decent dps/tank.

this is just flat out not true. If you can avoid getting killed in a drake, you can avoid getting killed in a marauder.

Very true, everyone will die sooner or later in WH space but the <60secs of bastion does not make a huge difference. Also anything that does not have a MJD will almost always be in a worse situation than a Marauder since C5s point a lot.

If the Marauder makes way more isk (C4 and C5 Paladin will make way more isk per ship than a Snake will) so you can afford to replace them more often.

Defiantly better than the Paladin but I think the issue with the Vargur is damage application. Anything past 60Km and you are doing less than 500 DPS which as mentioned above is not enough to break the RR.

Either way its not worth doing C6s without a big fleet or Caps for several reasons.

1. More risk of PVP. There are not very many C6s so a PVP corp rage rolling a WH will be way more likely to roll into you.
2. More PVE risk, more Nuets, Alpha ect.
3. Worse ISK/Hour. The ISK per EHP is lower in a C6 than a C5 and you do less DPS as you need more tank. WH Guide

yeah on neut presence alone I'd recommend sticking to C5s. Also for the other stated reasons.

generally speaking this tends to be true for all classes of WHs tbh; you should run sites at one level below what your ship can theoretically do on paper.
yeah you can fit a solo tengu for C4s, but you'll make more in a C3, a drake can run C3s, but it's better off in a C2 ect.
