Want to move to wh with few alts - need advice

Hey,
Most of my eve time i have spent in null. I would like to try something else and i thought about whs. I was thinking about moving 2 or 3 of my alts to wh, put astrahus there as the base of operations. Mostly i would like to do c5 sites. I was reading and watching guides on yt for some time now. I have a lot of experience with game mechanics and scanning, but i never lived in wh for more then few months.

The first question would be: should i live in c5, where i can rat or should i choose other lower class wh and just day trip to find nice c5 to rat.?

Second question: what would be better for farming c5s - 2x remote cap transfer rattles with shield boosters or just a maruder, lets say paladin? Dualbox is max what i would like to do when farming.

I just one to move like 2 or 3 of my alts in wh and from time to time log them and do some sites for fun (and isk). It would be a nice change havens and sanctums. I am aware of risk, and i know someday i will loose those ships. I want to try c5 mostly for fun (i have other source of isks, but if im doing something i want to do it at max efficency possible - so i would also want to earn some isk doing this :) ).

Better off with a WH with a Static C5. C5s allow Caps so its easier to get evicted and sites will run out. A C4 with static C3 and C5 is pretty nice. You get access to all of the good sites. Also your home system will run out of sites.

2 Paladins would be much faster but its a lot more isk on the field.

Ok, so the sites don't respawn after 10-15 mins like it's in null? Didn't know that.

Is it possible to dual box paladins doing c5s? Is it not too much clicking. I thought you need to pay a lot of attention to maruder while doing c5 sites. I assume each paladin in different site, correct?

As i can say.. the life in WH Space is different.
If you ever plan to join WH Space.. you can put a Astarhus your palas or rattles and live there... but in my opinion you should not.

The better way is first to join a WH corporation and live with them a few months...

Learn the Mechanics.. Learn the tricks.. and then move in a own WH..

There is much to learn in WH Space and with a corporation you have enough backup for failures..

I was talking with my null-sec friend the other day because I was curious about day-tripping to null to earn some monies. After a few hours of discussion I came to the realization that "We play totally different games, you and I. They're both called Eve, but they look and work absolutely nothing alike. I'm just going to stay in wormhole space where things make sense and are a whole lot less scary."

To which he called me insane and we went to play Stellaris together...

Take nearly every game mechanic you think you know and chuck it out the window, because when you jump through that wormhole, all the cards are on the table and there will be no mercy for mistakes made knowingly or unknowingly.

Good luck, and fly dangerously.

Hey Ragnar,

I really recommend you first join a wormhole corporation to learn the ropes before setting off on your own. There is still MANY things you will need to learn.

I don't think it's the best choice if you plan to set up camp just with a few alts, eventually you will need friends and an army.

There are numerous entities who will eventually scout you down, and if you don't have the fleet to defend your assets and keep hole control your investment is pretty much gone. Your hole will then be evicted then put up on the market again.

As more and more ppl suggest that i should join a corp, I have to reconsider my plans for now.
Thanks for the answer.

Maybe just day-tripping from null to whs will be better option for me?

You can join a corp, or you can move all your stuff into a wormhole and work stuff out. I took the second route and it worked pretty well but :

1). If your solo (even 2-3 accounts) your only ever going to be safe in your own wormhole, trying to do stuff in your static is not going to work, you dont have the manpower.
2). C5 is experienced stuff. I'd start on C3 or C4 and work your way up.

If your reasonably rich (8bil+) then you could go with an astrahus but your going to want a backup POS as well because there's no asset safety in WH space so if someone attacks you then your going to want a dickstar to drop everything into or you will just lose everything.

You have a lot to learn about, how to roll wormholes, safety, always Dscanning, losing ships (because you will) even if you have closed out your WH then you could have someone cloaked in your WH watching you the whole time and you would never know. Or have an incoming WH from a big corp that drops onto your shiny ships.

Start small. C3 -> Null is nice to start out with, easy to roll static, often have exits to hisec and the rats are just starting to get interesting. You will learn a lot and then decide to move up to C4 or C5.

Cap repping rattles will do any sites in C3 (easy) and C4, with T2 everything apart from the booster, with some bling they will probably do most of the C5 sites, but you stand to lose a lot more. Neuting in the C5's is your biggest enemy, it can get pretty intense.

As far as you want to maximize you will need at least 3 rattles to complete every c5 site including the drifter. And as people have said, it's worth having eyes around and know some rules first. The absence of other people with you might get you exhausted soon because of that rolling/scanning/etc.

Doing your c5 static solo works. Don't mind people saying otherwise. 2 remote cap local rep rattles is fine. If you got a third monitor get a golem. It is really easy to establish rep/cap chain with rsnakes and assign drones to the golem and focus on the golem. Geckoes get a really awesome application bonus from painting. You will hit around 800m/hr or more.

But as you have no back up, each time you do this you need an empty c5 and you need to roll every wormhole in your connection. If you don't warp to the new signature, you are safe as long as no new sig appears or nobody logged off in that wh beforehand. Ideally you also wanna have a prober inside, holding the connection from your hole to the static. A 4 accounts setup is really awesome even if you use the 4th for hole control/probing/wh rolling.

You do not actually need to escalate. Doing the drifter is less ISK/hr instead of just warping to the new site. Given you are doing this in your static you have lots of sites.

Marauders in Wormholes is a singularly terribad idea. Those bastion modules WILL get you killed. Stick with remote cap transfer rattlesnakes and forget about the Drifter in a dualbox setup.
