Attempting to repair Thukker Tribe Standings

I am trying to figure out which route would be faster to re-enable access to Thukker Mix corporation missions. The Goal is to eventually be able to run the Level 4 Combat and/or Mining missions with them. Unfortunately I am currently locked out of anything other than level 1 missions due to standings with the related faction being - 2.6) Diplomacy is already at Level 4, I don't think training to V would do it.

Thukker Tribe (Faction): (-) 2.6
Thukker Mix (corp) : Trying to raise this

Minmatar (Faction): (+) .94
Republic Parliament (sub -corp): (+) 3.12

Would it be faster to grind level 1 storyline missions with Thukker Mix or rely on derived standings and run the parliament?

Tanked my standings during my newbie days and never fixed it :(

how about diplomacy 5?
Since connections doesn't do jack **** if your standings are negative.

What I did is to run lv1, then lv2 distribution missions in a tri-HVO-rigged magnate.
Then use a Mach for lv3s.
Then go back to Lanngisi and run the burner missions.

OK, you can skip the last one if you like their missions. I have a post about the worthy of their sec missions.

Before doing this you would seriously need consider the damage you will do by running for Thukker. Everyone bar Min will eventually hate you - are you ready for that. Moreover, the combat missions send you to lowsec an awful lot and the mining missions don't earn a lot per hr. I tried this one and really it's not worth the hassle. Run SOE those of us who tried Thukker all went back eventually once the better apparent LP ratio turned out to be not that great in implementation.

sigh....

3 responses, none of which actually addressed to the question.

I was hoping somebody knew the math (or formula) behind the percentage gains of storyline missions (how significant is the difference between level 1 and level 3, standings wise gain). Trying to minimize the pre-level 4 missions run.

@Henry
Thank you. I will correct my post to state diplomacy instead of connections. I named the wrong skill.

@alasdan
not quite sure how to respond to this, especially since I don't want to get sidetracked into why im doing what im doing. Just looking for some math help right now.

@Endercroix
I have thought about this a great deal. I am very happy with the decision i have made, having already done so with my primary mission runner.

At this point, I suppose I will need to scour the internet trying to find the relevant formula (or waste a couple hours trying both approaches)

Both options are slow tag along another pilot l4 is fastest way.

This is a guess but if you can l3 and fast for parliament that would be faster option than doing l1's.

You choke behind a smile a fake behind the fear

No point answering the question if you haven't thought it through. As you are happy with your choices then in your shoes I'd blitz Min Cosmos + Circle etc and then used that to pull the substantial derived standing until you are able to do level 3s. If you don't care about standing then use the mechanics listed in DeMichael Crimson's plan which is at the top of this forum subsection.

Of course the best answer would be to push from your main if that is possible.

Thank you.

I had forgotten about the COSMOS route. I was thinking about pushing from the main, but IIRC sharing missions will provide corp standings boosts, but not faction (and faction is the problematic one).

I apologize for being rude earlier.

You are correct it won't push the faction but once you get the corp up the faction follows quick. Once you get Thukker able to do level 3s then switch. Don't forget Min tags too.

Endecroix advice is correct.

Also since you have -2.6 Thukker Tribe Faction standing with Diplomacy Level 4, it would be wise to train up level 5, that should put you above -2.00 standing which will allow you access to agents above level 1.

As for ruining your standings with all the other Factions, that will only happen by completing Event Agent missions such as Storyline, Cosmos, Data Center, Circle and Career Agents along with destroying Faction NPC's and structures during Security encounter missions.

I suggest training up Diplomacy level 5 to hopefully get above -2.00 standing, then run missions with Thukker Mix and just decline all Storyline offers.

If Thukker Tribe Faction isn't above -2.00 standing after training up Diplomacy level 5, go ahead and run the 3 Minmatar Data Center 'Graduation Certificate' Agents for positive derived standing gains towards Thukker Tribe and if needed, the Data Center 'Tag' Agents until Thukker Tribe is above -2.00 standing, then go do regular missions for Thukker Mix.

Just remember you will also get negative derived standing hits towards the other Factions when completing Event Agent missions so you'll want to keep the amount of those missions to a minimum.

Good luck to you.

At -2.6 standings with Diplo IV, I back-calculated your base standings to be -5.0. With Diplo V, you will be at -2.0.

Now, if it's actually -2.5## and you just rounded it to -2.6 to simplify things, Diplo V will push you above -2.0 and you'll be good to go.

But if it's -2.6##, you'll stay below -2.0 even with Diplo V, but a single L1 storyline for Thukker or L3 storyline for that minmattar corp will push you over -2.0.

From personal experience, you'll need 2-3 L1 storylines to get from -2.6 to over -2.0 without changing Diplo from IV to V, and maybe 1 L3 storyline under Minmattar to do the same. So pick your poison. Also note that trusec does not matter for standings gains from missions, so if you need to run missions for storylines do it in the safety of hisec if possible.

To calculate Effective standings from Base standings yourself, use this equation:

Effective = ((10 - Base) x %mod) + Base

Where %mod is 0.2 with Diplo V when base standings are below 0.00.
