Am I wrong in thinking that the manufacturing list screen now shows a 30 day average and not the current lowest sell order?

Hi there,

I've been using your program for 2 months now and I have to say it's really saving me a lot of time and work I would have to do otherwise. After beating the crap out of excel sheets and thinking about putting together a similar project I came across yours and I'm really happy that I didn't have to do it myself ;-) I think there will be some isk left within the next couple of days after paying for the game time which will go to your wallet then, really appreciate your work.

This said, I got some bugs bothering me since 2.0 came out yesterday. It's almost always crashing the program with this message: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." I'm working with windows 7 professional, 64bit.

The first one which I could identify can be reproduced as follows:

1. Get a price update (if you haven't already earlier)
2. Select any blueprint in the "Blueprint" tab
3. Click the "Add to shopping list" button
4. Go back to the "Update Price" tab
5. Import prices again
6. Program crashes

Hope this can get fixed anyhow, I really like to check prices in different regions and look how much I can save buying there. The need to rebuild the shopping list after each price update is really annoying.

Cheers mate

Thanks for the report. I'll look at it tonight and get a fix up soon.

The 30 day average is just the volume for the SVR calculation. All the prices are from whatever you choose in the Update prices tab.

Very nice tool, thanks a lot for the noob I am in industry.
It helps me a lot Blink

Feature Request: Set prices based multiple trade hub systems

Rational: A manufacturer may be willing to visit several trade hubs to buy/sell at a better price. It s not that hard to visit a few trade hubs, but its a lot harder to track down and visit the cheapest systems from multiple regions, especially if you have a long shopping list.

Detail: In the 'update prices' tab, allow multiple trade hub systems to be selected, so if 'minimum sell' price import type was selected, the final price would be the minimum price from all the selected trade hubs (systems not regions).

Thanks

Think I just found a bug.

The manufacturing calculator doesn't take in consideration owned vs unowned, even if you click the owned BPO filter button.

Plus: A reminder on a recommendation I made prior, can we get a method of tracking current manufacturing orders and a method for defining production "baskets", a group of BPOs that are typically produced together?

Interesting suggestion. I can do it. It'll take longer to update the prices, but not an issue. The problem though will be on the output. I guess I could just list the hub I imported the price from in the grid? I'm trying to figure out how you would use this. I'm assuming that you would update prices, add a few items to the shopping list, then I output the price plus the location it was imported?

If that's what you are thinking I can do it, but it'll take a bit of work.

I'm not seeing the issue you are having with the manufacturing calculator. Do you have specific options selected? I've tried a few different variations and have the same result.

On your other recommendations, I'll be working on several of them in the old thread and here in a short while. Just want to get all the main bugs worked out of this first.

Strange. No big difference in the options. Go to Manufacturing, change the filter from all BPs to Owned BPs, Hit preview item list, shows T2 BP that I dont own. Hit calculate, and it throws up the "Will take some time warning" and then it calculates the BPOs. This being said, the list appears to be different from the "All BPs" filter, kind of like some T2 BPs, etc are leaking in to my Owned BP screen.

Glad to hear you will be working on the recommendations.

Thanks for the response and I hope you can reproduce this bug.

For some reason I can't see my owned BPO/BPC anywhere. I thought those would be imported with the asset list?

Well, I think this is the first time I've said this and meant it but....that's not a bug, it's a feature! Smile

I changed the way the owned and all blueprints works so that owned would give all owned plus if you have the T2 box checked, it would show invented blueprints if you had the T1 bp owned. Although, this kinda hoses T2 BPO users since they might not want to see all the invented types.

If you don't want to see the invented types, just uncheck T2 and it will show all the owned. I'm pondering adding a "Include Invented Blueprints" and maybe "Include T3" as options for Owned blueprints but not sure what to do yet. Don't want to make it overly complicated if I can help.

If you imported them from your assets in Blueprint Management, then you need to mark them as owned there to have them used in the main screens. The assets API doesn't give the ME/PE of the BP's so you need to manually enter them and save them there.

An Owned BP will show up in the manufacturing tab with a tanned line.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

I was really just thinking about having accurate prices to be used when calculating manufacturing costs.

I assume it could be implemented the same way as when multiple regions are selected.

Jita is a good system to use for prices for most things, but for low end minerals its expensive, which distorts the manufacturing costs when trying to workout what to make. A recent example i came across is producing Capital Construction Parts, Jita is a good place to sell them, but its not a good place to buy the minerals to make them. I could select multiple regions to get a more accurate price, but in reality im not prepared to fly to any system in the regions i select to get a good price, im happy with the best price at any of the major trade hubs.

I dont think its essential to report what system/region the best price is (but i do it in a crude spreadhseet i have), but getting accurate prices is always important.

Thanks

Yeah, totally understand where you are coming from. I thought it about it some more and I think the only place where you would want to see the location of the price is in the shopping list. That's not really that hard to do. Other screens would be more difficult.

I'll play around with it in the next few weeks but it shouldn't be hard to do. The only thing with the price imports from EVE Central is that I have to make 5 separate calls to get the prices since the API only supports one system at a time where with regions it supports multiple. One benefit though is that you would be able to see the system name that gets you the best price. You can't do that with multiple regions. It'll take a bit longer to get the data but I think if it saves you time and isk, it's not going to be a huge issue. Smile
