EVEMon doesn't need any introductions but certainly deserves some blue bars. Smile

Many thanks to everyone working on it!

Launch EVEMon ->Help ->About...

This is the list of people who should be offered Tool Developer positions at CCP (or at least a little isk).

Seriously though, a great tool which has helped many. Thanks to all involved.

Maybe I missed it, (cuz I havent been looking for it) but when will EVEmon be switching to the new custom API??

Most likely in the next version released but handling for the new API keys is not implemented yet (at least not on SVN yet).

EVEMon should be recommended to all new players of the game; after they finish the tutorial that is Twisted

I use EVEMon myself but I don't agree it should be recommended to all new players...To be useful to *all* players, you would need to have it cross-OS platform (which EVEMon is not).

One thing I would like EVEMon to do in the future since (the data received is all XML), is be web based instead of OS based. Not only will it allow more people to use it, even people with smart-phones will be able to use it without an application written specially for that smart-phone.

Desmont McCallock I have a little question for you...

With the new forum, it is impossible for me to reach you in your post about how to "Get required skills for all ships" and I can't seem to find this post with the search function...

I realized after trying your db query, that the orca for example is not returned or that skills that are not ship related like electronics for example were not returned either...

I know you're not my personal army, but I was wondering if you could give me any clues about what I could look into to get the infos I need

Thanks for reading I'll be checking this post here for any answers! Big smile

I would much appreciated if you could post the link of the mentioned SQL query.

I managed to find the query. Issue is caused due to the fact that CCP has some values in valueInt and others in valueFloat. My query only deals with the valueInt.

Here is the corrected query
Quote:
SELECT
Ships.typeName AS ShipName,
Grouping.groupName AS ShipType,
Skills.typeName AS RequiredSkill,
COALESCE(SkillLevel.valueInt, SkillLevel.valueFloat) AS RequiredLevel
FROM
dgmTypeAttributes AS SkillName
INNER JOIN invTypes AS Ships ON Ships.typeID = SkillName.typeID
INNER JOIN invGroups AS Grouping ON Grouping.groupID = Ships.groupID
INNER JOIN invTypes AS Skills ON (Skills.typeID = SkillName.valueInt OR Skills.typeID = SkillName.valueFloat) AND SkillName.attributeID IN (182, 183, 184, 1285, 1289, 1290)
INNER JOIN dgmTypeAttributes AS SkillLevel ON SkillLevel.typeID = SkillName.typeID AND SkillLevel.attributeID IN (277, 278, 279, 1286, 1287, 1288)
WHERE
Grouping.categoryID = 6 AND
Ships.published = 1 AND
((SkillName.attributeID = 182 AND
SkillLevel.attributeID = 277) OR
(SkillName.attributeID = 183 AND
SkillLevel.attributeID = 278) OR
(SkillName.attributeID = 184 AND
SkillLevel.attributeID = 279) OR
(SkillName.attributeID = 1285 AND
SkillLevel.attributeID = 1286) OR
(SkillName.attributeID = 1289 AND
SkillLevel.attributeID = 1287) OR
(SkillName.attributeID = 1290 AND
SkillLevel.attributeID = 1288))
ORDER BY ShipName

I will reiterate what every one else says about this being a totally awesome program. Cannot even begin to imagine playing Eve without it.

Now on to my question.

Every time I open EveMon I get this annoying error message (I have substituted x's for the actual account number):

An error occurred while querying the character list for account xxxxxxx (no characters).
An error occurred while querying the character list for account xxxxxxx (no characters).
More notifications are available.
Check character monitor for more information.

Is there any way to turn that little message window off? Or at least turn off the supremely irritating popping sound that it makes every 2 seconds?

Thx in advance

Yes. Look in Tools>Options>Notifications and disable the "API problem".

Btw, this issue will be resolved in next release.
