  • Should "Make X Great Again"-candidates be disqualified for plagiarism? in Council of Stellar Management

True, but voters demand that candidates put more thought into their rehashing of earlier political material than plain plagiarism (Which is why I offered the option of being creative about borrowing). The logic is fairly easy: If a (nominally serious) candidate can't put more thought into their slogan than reusing one from the last winning candidate in the US presidential election, are they likely to put enough thought into their office if elected?
For the CSM, ff they show how serious they are in the post itself, but put up a MXGA title up as clickbait, is that a sign of laziness or poor judgement?

It seems to me that the MXGA threads fall into two overarching categories: Joke/commentary candidates, and nominally serious candidates with a lazy streak and an affinity for plagiarism. Either way, voters should think twice before voting for candidates from either category.

There is no need to ban them. The voters will decide if they care about the fact it's borderline plagiarism or if they don't care and think the candidate is worth the vote.
I'm glad you agree with both my posts.

blatantly lying will get you nowhere. Ugh

I thought that was how politics worked?
CSM is more like a sounding board or a board made up of interest organisations without decision power than any political entity. Like office politics, you don't decide by vote.
If you think lying is a wanted part of politics, you're probably unfit for office, and if you think the CSM can decide CCPs priorities, you need a reality check. Kind of like CQ got, come to think of it.

  • Should "Make X Great Again"-candidates be disqualified for plagiarism? in Council of Stellar Management

Here's a quick thought: If someone either views their CSM candidacy as a kind of commentary on real world elections, or if they can't come up with a better slogan on their own (Or at least be creative about their borrowing), they aren't deserving of our vote.

There's the possibility that some of these are serious candidates who want to grab our attention with a headline like that, but in that case, should we as voters demand they put more thought into their clickbait?

My own thread title is of course a meta-example of plagiarism and clickbait headline, since I don't actually favour CCP disqualifying candidates for plagiarism of one-liners, but since I'm not running, I can't be punished by the voters. If you do want to express your disapproval of my thread title, feel free to send me ISK in 0.01 increments or to put bounties on my head.

  • Is CVA the only alliance who operate NRDS?? in EVE Communication Center

Technically, it's the whole Provibloc, so it's not just CVA. However, they are the only current sov. holding alliances that operates on NRDS - there were the Freeport people who AFAIK did, and a few others, but they've folded over time. You may find some local groups in both low- and NPC null-sec who are NRDS, but I am not knowedlegable enough to help you with those areas.

  • Why the big difference in Corp office costs? in EVE Communication Center

    Tatanka Startamer wrote:
OK, from reading the item linked, I think I understand.....

The fact that the current # of free slots is the same/similar means nothing. The only thing that EVER raises the price from the 10K/month base is being full up. When there are at least 2 open slots, the price can drop. So the Industry station was full, and stayed that way for a while, and now that there are many openings, the price is falling. In the last 6 days, I've seen it fall from 8.9M to ~8.4M. The neighboring station with clone bay is 10K/month (the minimum), with the same number of openings. That tells me that station has NEVER been full, since the price has never increased. Or, had been full, seen an increase, and then has had at least 2 openings for long enough to let the price drop all the way back down.

Thanks for helping me understand :)

Yep, you're right on the nail. Next time, you can save yourself time (And possibly wrong, if well-intended, answers) by checking EVE University Wiki first. Smile
As for why the industry station is seen as more valuable than the clone bay one, Bjorn Tyrsons answer is probably the explanation in this case.

    Roenok Baalnorn wrote:
Dont take my word for it but i believe it has to do with station traffic. How many people are in and out of the station. Its a silly mechanic but the only one i can find to explain the differences in cost. For example if you were to rent an office in jita 4-4 it would cost you in the billions. Ive noticed over time that stations that are busier seem to have higher rental fees.
You say this after a link to the correct answer has been posted, and it has been quoted, and explained. I like the preface of "don't take my word for it", though. It means very little, but at least you acknowledge that you didn't check or confirm it yourself.
Traffic and office cost may be correlated, but there's no causal relationship between the two. Check the correct answers, or Tatankas explanation of the specific situation, if you want to know more. Smile

There is no argument. Because every time a fanboy or fanboy(s) are faced with nothing but logic distilled down to zero, they come up with random diarrhea to justify the garbage state of the product and/or company they defend with a personal affection. But I thoroughly enjoy it.
So this is a response to yourself? If it's an attempt to respond to why people are against WiS, it's incoherent.
You are either using a completely different definition of fanboys than everyone else, or you're mistaken.

Protip: Calling some of the people who most vocally attacked both the company and the product for 'fanboys' will get you first puzzled looks, then get you discredited. Whatever education you got with Carl Sagan, it should have prepared you to take a hard look at the evidence and evaluate that. I don't think you got an education with Carl Sagan - maybe you watched some of his videos on YouTube?

Big smile And another one! It's cute, though. What the fanboys cling on to with an actual affection. Muffin...
I think the big difference is this: We're critical, analyse proposals and evaluate them on their merits and the dev.s prior shown abilities. We're not fanboys, rather the opposite.
I didn't expect someone with your intellect to be able to grasp the finer points, though. That you know close to nothing about EVE, its history, its players, or even the general trends of the MMO game world, has been made painfully obvious. You replacea real argument with "cute" and "fanboy". That might work (Though I doubt it) in other games, and not at all on the EVE forums.

Also they won't move carriers with other ships inside. Ships with unassembled ships inside are fine as that counts as one ship in the db.
Sure about that? I had a carrier moved with a lot of stuff, included rigged ships, so it would surprise me if that's true?
(This being a year ago, so rules may have changed since then)

They won't move a carrier period. Nothing with a jump drive can be moved.
That's a change, then. I got my active ship (A carrier with assembled and rigged ships) moved after I returned for a short while a year ago...

  • Vote Xenuria: CSM 11 - Reform The CSM in Council of Stellar Management

Joining the biggest organised voting bloc in the game and sucking enough up to the leaders of said bloc (Or being exploitable enough for their purposes) to be put on the ballot isn't really your work, though.
Someone else did that work for you.

As you obviously are too deluded to realise (Messiah-complex and all), you didn't win because of your causes. You don't have any. You won because you can be a tool for the CFC leadership, and if one should make a bet, it would be that getting you on the CSM will close that institution down, either de facto or de jure, since it has ceased to be a meaningful platform for the CFC.
Despite your personality, your (lack of) qualifications, your insanity and your self-absorption, you got elected.

Someone in the CFC hierarchy decided to remake you, from a joke to a weapon. What made you the joke candidate everyone enjoyed before, has now become a joke on us. The question is, who will wield you, and who will you be pointed at?
