  • Noctis needs a bigger hold in EVE Technology and Research Center

The noctis could use a balance pass.
I don't think it needs so much a bonus to cargo size (expanded do that just fine).
the issue is trying to find the right balance.
The noctis is a heavy ship with crappy tank, crappy cargo bay and some out dated bonuses. It really needs a destroyer sized baby brother that would takes the current spot and then be pushed up on its own in to a grander spot (watching the cargo size, don't wanna have it step on to many toes). Look at giving it multiple bays. Maybe a deployable bay that could store 10k in deployables.

are you guys running Loglite and filing them with CCP? if not. they can't do much to improve things.

  • Single Sign On Issues After Deployment of 119.5 in EVE Communication Center

We thank you for your apologies, Falcon. but this seems to have become a recurring event on patch days. Can you all please take a look at what has been causing these issues every time and figure out a means to prevent it... I know this is personally at least the 2nd time this has happened this year. I know other people complain about it every time we have major patches.

    Thank you and good luck.

Yeah my mate that follows them has now said t me that they are updating them.., so would you think that the latest one would handle 3 clients on high graphic settings?

The current 5k iMac would handle 3 clients very well depending on your graphic settings. I think the one i tested at best buy, i cranked it all the way and it kept a high FPS...
The thing i still say is, that their currently price is not good as Apple has plans to release new units this year (we will see how those plans pan out).

If you can't wait, and you live in the US, i'd look at a refurbished one, that way you can save some $$$$$$$

    Okay,

So I was updating my skill queue and was looking at the the Rigging section.

    Skill - Jury Rigging III

    Allows

    Armor Rigging
    Astronautics Rigging
    Drones Rigging
    Electronic Superiority Rigging

    Projectile Weapon Rigging < Omega
    Energy Weapon Rigging < Omega

Hybrid Weapon Rigging < Not Omega

    Launcher Rigging < Omega

    Shield Rigging

Question is? Why are 3/4 of the weapon platforms (not counting drones) restricted to Omegas and not all 4? Is this just something the developers missed or intended?

I don't believe that's correct - in my Activity Monitor I see "EVE Launcher" when only the launcher is running, and once I log in a client I also see processes "wine" and "wineserver", where "wine" seems to be the main client process (as it uses the most CPU).

For what it's worth I'm seeing Eve Launcher use unreasonable amounts of CPU across two different Mac's (On the previously mentioned iMac as well as on a Macbook). I'm saying unreasonable based on the apparent workload of the launcher, which is to render the launcher window and some news/blog items and so forth (I believe the launcher is essentially a HTML-based browser).

where do you see it list the launchers CPU usage.? in the activity window or via a third party app?

    Activity Monitor: http://prntscr.com/ewr7jc
    Istatsmenu: http://prntscr.com/ewr7qj

my istatmenu, doesn't even list my eve launcher... it combines it with the wine clients.

    - please note that I don't currently fly any combat capitals, love my subcapitals to much.

Blop can do gate to gate for long time, and it also have jump drive. And guess what? It do require Jump Drive Skill as well.

Argument that capital ship don't need jump drive skill because it can do gate to gate is dumb as hell.

And, most alliance who have capital ships fleet wouldn't let you to fly capital ship in fleet without jump drive skills at all

I was typing up the OP while at work and wasn't thinking about all the different ships.

Maybe the best middle group would be - Dreads and Carriers lose their jumpskill requirements, while Supers and Titans maintain theirs...

Quickly thinking about a reason to maintain the BLOPs jump requirements, would be that they are a t2 ship, which ask the ability to bridge other players, which then let me remember that the titan has a bridge, so I thought about that middle ground....

I will go adjust the OP.

  • Request: remove jump skills from combat capitals in EVE Technology and Research Center

@Bjorn Trraon, I am glad someone thinks like me, and is better able to word it. I am a causal industrial, and the circle of life in New Eden requires things to be made and then blowm up so it can go back into the circle. EVE is hard and a change like this would just make it a little more dark as we fuel the servers with tears.

This is a pretty terrible idea and serves little to no useful purpose that I can see. Anyone moving a capital ship solely by gates is, to put it bluntly, an idiot.

You haven't even put a reason or potential use case for this change in here, it's just a "why not". A change doesn't need a "why not" it needs a "why should we" and there's none of that here.

I did say "let the children of New Eden do what they will with it."

EVE as far as I know has an underlying rule, just because you can sit in a ship doesn't mean you should undock said ship. As I see it, the current limitations was based on capitals ships not being able to use gates to travel. Now that they can, it is still the wise choice to move them jump drives, but removing that "need" for jump skills opens up more ship options for people who "want to fly" capital ships, but probably as you said, fall into the idiot department (I added a few worlds) and should not.

Command ships had their requirements changed as the mechanics that had been built for have changed. It is now easier to get into them. Capital ships have had many of their mechanics changed but not the mechanics. EVE is a lovely sandbox and I do love to read about what stupid things people do. This just give more people opportunities to do stupid stuff.

  • Request: remove jump skills from combat capitals in EVE Technology and Research Center

EDIT 2: In light of the comments and discussion which has taken place here. i would like to modify my request.

Instead of removing the jump skills requirement from combat capitals, we take a look at the levels required and possibly shorten the level requirements for Carriers. I was looking at the skill requirements for Dreads and they only have Jump Drive Operation I as a requirements (their other skill requirements I have no issue with), while carriers have: Jump Drive Operations V, Jump Drive Calibration III, and Jump Fuel Conservation IV.

Using one of my alpha clones to check (newish character) a dread would take about 94 days to train into while the carrier would take take nearly 145 days (I looked at a Moros and Thanny off an Amarr alpha clone). So would it be possible to try to get the carrier training time inline with the dread train time?

edit: from reading the comments, and replies, I feel the best middle ground for this would to remove the jump skills from Dreads and Carrier only. Would have the least major change impact on the game.))

  • Dev blog: PLEX Changes On The Way! in EVE Information Center

Can't say I am fully behind this change 100%

I am in mind that CCPs fear of aurum to plex exchange under 1000 aurum to be to much.
Ether exchange it to game time or ISK.

And splitting up a PLEX into smaller parts where each one equals an hour of game time seems much better.

Please, CCP give this some more thought.

Also, is there maybe a way you could pool the aurum from all accounts linked to the same email. This would merge all the small amounts for the players, and this could be done before the conversion of aurum to PLEX so players could maybe spend it before they lose it. This merged pool would would show up in the account with the highest SP character.

Would also like to see the PLEX vault linked to accounts sharing emails as well.

  • ChatLogs in EVE Technology and Research Center

Ah. If memory servers right, they should now show up in your documents folder of your mac.

Open a finder window, documents > EVE > Logs > Chatlogs.

That is where mine have been for a while now. My Documents is the window side, and p_drive is the fake window drive wine makes.

  • [March] Structure, Drone & Fighter improvements from Team Five 0 in EVE Technology and Research Center

so. trying to play with the new d-scan and probe window.

    1) i am a mac user and it seems like none of the hotkeys work.
    2) Wheres the filter for d-scan?
    3) LOOKINGS LIKE AN AWESOME UPGRADE CCP. I really do like the new cleaner look... not sure if i like the d-scan/probe-scanner docking with the system map right from the start, might need a tool-tip pop up letting people know about undocking/docking it.

I run it under Sierra mostly without problem and performance issues.
Only issues are in 99/100 cases caused by wrong update and it's get corrected when ccp do proper release next day or so.

I wish they will do more testing on mac and less frequent updates on launcher ... or get rid of launcher completely.

short story: when ccp doesnt ****** up launcher update, game is stable and performing well.

Launcher bugs can be fixed pretty fast if you have your launcher forget current version of EVE. It forces a recheck and downloads proper updates.
