  • WWDC - 2018 macOS sees EOL for 32 but apps in EVE Technology and Research Center

Any feedback from CCP on this? I almost installed the Beta before realizing I wouldn't be able to play EVE, phew. Super interested in hearing what you guys think?

High Sierra will still support 32 bit apps. It is the OS after High Sierra that won't.

So you can instal the beta and test at your head ache

As the rorqual is getting hit with the bat again, could we look at removing the limitation of not going to HS with it. My morning brain fart.

  • Strategic Cruiser Focus Group Working Thread in EVE Technology and Research Center

Something crazy that I think would be great, make T3C T3BC instead.
It seems most of their numbers fall in line with BCs more than Cruisers anyway. Yeah it would be a crazy SP train to work out, but I think they would fit in better if they had the base stats inline with BCs vs cruisers.

Attention CCP Mac team! Are you all aware of this?

    https://www.macrumors.com/2017/06/06/apple-to-phase-out-32-bit-mac-apps/

This will do two things for EVE - force all the players to run windows and/or lose all mac players who upgrade computers or macOS after the next macOS release after High Sierra.

Probably won't effect me much as my computer is already near EOL it seems with EVE.

If you are still looking to upgrade. Apple has finally released updated models.

  • Repeated Crashes: Undocks/Gate Jumping in EVE Technology and Research Center

I was lucky for a while, and didn't get a lot of crashes. I have in the last couple weeks been getting a crash or two. I am assuming wine is the reason, but only have had it happen since the last two patch cycles. I have noticed a crap ton of lag on undock. I am hoping that this next patch will fix it, as the place i live has a lot of stuff on grid when i undock.

@CCP Snorlax: has there been any updates on the way wine is moving forward?

  • A 'game changer' for Mac EVE players :) in EVE Technology and Research Center

yes. but they have to have a computer with Thunderbolt 3. Which currently includes last years MacBook line up and the new ones updated yesterday (Jun 5th)

its not the the change itself, its the change of gameplaying we have to faced.

If we had a change, like moon mining, so we can kept our mining fleet busy, than its ok. The change here is in my eyes to early.

I will agree with you there. As I think I posted before.
Increase the size of the belts from the current 100km to 300km and make them like 1-8k km with more rocks, including HS/LS ore. 70/20/10 ratio HS/LS/NS. And only let them start a respawn once cleared. No refresh to the whole thing is depleted

  • [June] Nullsec Asteroid Cluster and Excavator Drone changes in EVE Technology and Research Center

Ah the gashing of teeth. New Eden has lots of room for people to spread out. I might be the only crazy B here who wants it all to burn and add longer timers.

The issue might be that corporations have the ability to have to many people in them. That it is to easy to form a corp. that the cost associated with maintaining SOV ownership is to cheap.
EVE is riddled with tons of problems. Don't like it, row your boat someplace else.

  • [June] Nullsec Asteroid Cluster and Excavator Drone changes in EVE Technology and Research Center

    Dear CCP,

I sometimes wonder about the foresight you all have or lack there of. Specially regarding player feedback.

Okay you over bonus a ship. You nerfed it twice. Cool beans

Here is my idea on this topic.

-Give spawn able belts a 5-7 day respawn timer from depletion. Give Jump Drives a combat timer.
-Most groups can not mine out a full system of ore anoms before they respawn naturally.
-Increase the size of the belts and put HS/LS ores back in them. (make them like 1k km across, with HS ores as the dominate rocks and LS/NS ores scattered about them)
-Double or triple the amount of rocks in the site, with 80-90% of the rocks being HS ores.

The core issue is this - there is to much ISK coming into the game, and b/c of your over action on buffing a ship, the mineral market has tanked. This isn't bad. What is bad is the over abundance of safety systems and incoming ISK.

There are billions of moving parts in this game, and to balance something doesn't always mean you have to balance that one item, it could be a whole herd of things to change up.
Sometimes what we see as the problem isn't the problem, but it is something else the affects it.
Maybe you should go talk to CCP Snorlax about that drone bug that took months of work by multiple people and then fixed.

Please stop and think about what you plan.

edit: i could also get behind an activation range on the industrial core. probably needs to be 50-75km to be effective.

  • 119.5 - Feedback & Issues (Mac) in EVE Technology and Research Center

Been noticing a lot more lag on the system of late... going to try to remember to file my log lite files for CCP Snorlax. I used to be really stable, but not I'm getting a crash once or twice a week on my main account (doesn't seem to effect my multi-boxed accounts)

  • metal api capabilities in EVE Technology and Research Center

the issue is the whole back end of eve would need to be redone... i'm the one that started the original post.

they would pretty much have to go through and rewrite the whole game to work natively with MacOS. Something that would take them years. or a magic pony.

  • Noctis needs a bigger hold in EVE Technology and Research Center

The noctis could use a balance pass.
I don't think it needs so much a bonus to cargo size (expanded do that just fine).
the issue is trying to find the right balance.
The noctis is a heavy ship with crappy tank, crappy cargo bay and some out dated bonuses. It really needs a destroyer sized baby brother that would takes the current spot and then be pushed up on its own in to a grander spot (watching the cargo size, don't wanna have it step on to many toes). Look at giving it multiple bays. Maybe a deployable bay that could store 10k in deployables.

  • Does Eve run properly under Mac Os Sierra? in EVE Technology and Research Center

are you guys running Loglite and filing them with CCP? if not. they can't do much to improve things.

  • Single Sign On Issues After Deployment of 119.5 in EVE Communication Center

We thank you for your apologies, Falcon. but this seems to have become a recurring event on patch days. Can you all please take a look at what has been causing these issues every time and figure out a means to prevent it... I know this is personally at least the 2nd time this has happened this year. I know other people complain about it every time we have major patches.

    Thank you and good luck.

Yeah my mate that follows them has now said t me that they are updating them.., so would you think that the latest one would handle 3 clients on high graphic settings?

The current 5k iMac would handle 3 clients very well depending on your graphic settings. I think the one i tested at best buy, i cranked it all the way and it kept a high FPS...
The thing i still say is, that their currently price is not good as Apple has plans to release new units this year (we will see how those plans pan out).

If you can't wait, and you live in the US, i'd look at a refurbished one, that way you can save some $$$$$$$

    Okay,

So I was updating my skill queue and was looking at the the Rigging section.

    Skill - Jury Rigging III

    Allows

    Armor Rigging
    Astronautics Rigging
    Drones Rigging
    Electronic Superiority Rigging

    Projectile Weapon Rigging < Omega
    Energy Weapon Rigging < Omega

Hybrid Weapon Rigging < Not Omega

    Launcher Rigging < Omega

    Shield Rigging

Question is? Why are 3/4 of the weapon platforms (not counting drones) restricted to Omegas and not all 4? Is this just something the developers missed or intended?
