  • Fanfest 2017 Official Unofficial Poker Tournament! in EVE Gameplay Center

Your old pal Bam Stroker here, and I've good news! We're running another Fanfest poker tournament this year. Last year's tourney was a big success and a lot of fun so we're happy to be bringing it back for another spin. My AUTZ spacepal jurekiedi will be in charge this year. He's a seasoned poker player and referee and did a great job running the EVE Down Under poker tourney last year so you'll be in good hands.

Once again the tournament will be held on Wednesday (the day before Fanfest officially starts) at the Bryggjan Brugghús downstairs from CCP's offices, just a short walk from Harpa and downtown Reykjavik. Ásgeir and the team at Bryggjan were fantastic hosts last year and it's worth paying them a visit to try some of their amazing craft beer and enjoy a delicious lunch.

CCP are stepping up to the plate and offering some incredible prizes for the top finishers in the tournament, including limited edition copies of the new Frigates of EVE book, EVE merch and some other really cool things I kind of want to leave as a surprise for the day. ;)

We'll also be providing some additional prizes for players who get the first flush, straight and so on, as well as bounties for knocking out any devs who may sign up to join us. So even if you're not the greatest poker player you've still got a chance to bag some dank swag!

Where: Bryggjan Brugghús, Grandagarður 8, 101 Reykjavík (map link)
    Date: Wednesday, 5th April
Time: 1pm* until the tournament concludes (6pm at the latest)

Sign up is free! Just visit the link below and fill out the form to enter. There are 40 seats total. 38 will be available to players, 2 will be reserved for devs. The first 38 players to sign up will be guaranteed entry. Any subsequent sign-ups will go onto a standby list and will be called up in the event of no-shows. All players will be notified of their status (either entered or on standby) a couple of days prior to the event.

    Sign up form: https://goo.gl/forms/rMijf9yLi4cZvHDD3

    * Even if you only make the stand-by list you should come down to Bryggjan anyway! It's a great place to chill with your mates and you might be lucky enough to get a tap on the shoulder if someone else pulls out.

Hope to see you guys there for another awesome tournament!

  • The Judge for CSM XII in Council of Stellar Management

While in recent years there's been several CSM representatives hailing from the AUTZ, I don't think I've met one who has been as proactive when it comes to seeking input from the community and promoting the CSM and what it can accomplish.

His work ethic is clear from his perfect attendance in CSM meetings and his willingness to listen and advance the players' concerns to CCP has been demonstrated. I think The Judge has earned a second term.

  • Fawlty7 for CSM XII in Council of Stellar Management

I've known Fawlty for years and he's been one of the most dedicated and prolific content creators in the AUTZ. He's respected by all sides in any conflict and although he's young he's already got a better head on his shoulders than most people I know who are much older. He's a seasoned EVE player, too, having handled more responsibility and gained more experience than the vast majority of EVE players ever will.

I'm happy to endorse Fawlty and he'll probably be #1 on my ticket.

    P.S. Happy birthday.

  • Steve Ronuken for CSM XII in Council of Stellar Management

A vote for Steve is a no-brainer. He's the only guy on the ticket that does what he does and a CSM without Steve Ronuken will be lacking a huge amount of experience and expertise.

Hard work, no drama and a focus on areas that nobody else can bring. Vote Steve!

  • Ariel Rin for CSM XII ♥ in Council of Stellar Management

Ariel's been a pillar of the AUTZ and having worked and played with him I know he's got the chops to deliver good things and will be a great representative on the CSM.

  • pyfa v1.29.4 - The Python Fitting Assistant in EVE Gameplay Center

May have been suggested already but 15 pages is a lot to go through so I'll just say that it would be cool in addition to character presets for all skills at 5 and 0 if Pyfa also came with a preset for each race with alpha skills only maxed.

  • Open letter to Mr. Pétursson / ピエトルソン氏への公開状 in 日本語フォーラム

I'm signing this because our Japanese spacefriends share our timezone. If they're happy and keep logging in then there's more content for all of us on this side of the world.

Also signing for less selfish reasons in that I'd like all Eve players to enjoy the same level of support as native English speakers no matter where they hail from.

  • EVE Fanfest Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament in EVE Gameplay Center

Hi guys, sorry for the radio silence since the tournament but FF has been hectic and I haven't even logged in for about a week. I'm on my way home now though and will be contracting out prizes this weekend once I sleep off the 24 hour trip.

Thanks everyone who took part, I think it was a success and my mind's already at work how to make the next one even better!
