  • Why are skill queues limited to 24h? in EVE Communication Center

Fill the 24h queue as much as possible without going over, then slap a 20-30 day skill in there. Once you come back from "break" remove it and resume normal queue. Similar to how it was prior to a skill queue, just use "dump skills" for when you know you won't log in for awhile.

Maybe in 5-7 years when SC survives Beta phase...we shall meet again.

You must be mistaking me for someone else. I don't ever recall being smartbombed outside of 0.0, definitely not Aunenen. I would have to look more in depth at SC, but really the only type of MMO that would draw me in is a sandbox. Which I don't see SC being and ESO failed at being like TES.

Regardless, thanks everyone and keep up the ideas, some stuff still left.

You'll be back. Trust me. So my good idea is this; don't give away your stuff.

Doubtful, this isn't the first time I've quit and everytime I do come back I find no will to play. Last time I quit I gave away around ~30b to corpmates/friends, all of which have stopped playing now.

While I won't go as far as biomassing, removing liquid assets would deter me from randomly plexing only to troll forums. Which I'm sure the ISD and CCP will be grateful for.

  • A Crowdsourcing Goodbye, w/Stuff. in EVE Communication Center

In short after 7-8 years of on and off Eve, forum trolling, and bittervet syndrome, I've decided to clear shop and uninstall for the last time when my plex runs out in 11 days.

So instead of a whiny I quit thread and explaining why, I decided I wanted to see what things others would want done to make Eve a better, more fun, and immersive game. Or new ideas to make that possible.

What do you think could be changed/added to keep older players active, or bring them back?

What do you think could be changed/added to keep more new players?

These can be major things or minor things, your idea can focus on either new or old or possibly both it doesn't matter.

Well thought out ideas will receive ISK, trolls will receive nothing(unless you're clever).

Want my stuff? Post an idea.

  • Is EVE Online the "Top Hardcore MMORPG"? in EVE Communication Center

So... does that make it easy or hard?

Neither, it makes people avoid player interaction. Which is why there are so many solo miners/missionaries, 1man corps, NPC corp players, and alts.

  • Is EVE Online the "Top Hardcore MMORPG"? in EVE Communication Center

I would trade Eve for a modern UO anyday.

What's funny is Eve isn't even really that hardcore. Its mostly PVE, Alts, and a numbers game. PvP is generally dictated based off of numbers, most who engage in PvP do so only against defenseless targets(miners, haulers, etc) or only with superior numbers.

Loss is a bit harsh, but also depends on perspective and scale. In many "noob fantasy" mmos when you die you need to spend gold to repair, in Eve you need to spend ISK to buy a new ship. Same principle different scale, not really that hardcore of a difference. Scamming, Awoxing, Corp theft. etc is really what makes Eve "hardcore" however it also isn't what I would consider a good selling point either. In a game that is dependant on numbers and being part of a group, yet promoting general asshattery and paranoia of everyone, seems like a contradiction.

I fear this breakthrough in modern science, will never come to pass.

  • Road map for the 6 week patches please! in EVE Communication Center

I give it to the Oceanus update, before they switch to another awesome cool totally hip style of releasing patches. Not to mention they will probably miss the dates or push back content in at least 3 of those. Not including the Indy changes.

  • Isboxing bomb squads in EVE Communication Center

So Long as CCP heavily relies on multiple accounts to survive, nothing will be done about ISBoxer. I also agree with others about the validity of reimbursement, they shouldn't be reimbursed and I don't see why CCP would.

Oh ffs. They're using additive bonuses? ShockedUghLol

It will be locked before you do. The ISDs don't take criticism very well.

  • Ambulation in New Eden in EVE Technology and Research Center

It is way too ambitious and I guarantee CCP will screw it up, so no. While I didn't mind the 1st idea to a degree, though seems meaningless to "lead" Legion soldiers, might as well just fight. The 2nd idea I don't care for but don't really understand, might be that I just woke up.

For WiS CCP needs to take baby steps, but baby steps in functionality. However most content will probably need to be "fluff" since it is the easiest not to screw up.

    My point.
Incarna could have been ( I am purely speculating here) a result of CCP needing 3d animated characters for a world that was humano-vampiro centric...
I do not know if the concept of incarna would have been pursued on its own if there was not a potential use for it with WOD.
If this was the case, they probably judged at the time that the synergy was viable, without forecasting the EVE player base's reaction to this.

Somewhat not exactly. As someone else mentioned CCP created Ambulation back in 07ish and was tech demoed at Fanfest 08. While slimmed down graphically from what we have now it was more functional. However after they began WoD creation which created the basis for the Carbon Design they switched over to that for Eve(Incarna) since they could utilize it on both games.

That attempting to categorize an attempted game about vampires as being endemic of the gradual acceptance of a sexually deviant and abhorrent behavior is beyond asinine.

    Understood and agree.

Was that before Incarna? I do not have insider knowledge, so this is indeed speculation from my part.
    Thanks for the insight!

Doreen makes some very well founded points, I agree with her as far as CCP canning something that does not relate to internet spaceships (Eve) at all. The mistake as pointed out in the Guardian article was enough proof in the pudding, BUT it came with a price to pay in the end. The community lost those who worked on this were laid off or left voluntarily and I feel for those people as well.

What we are seeing tho is not just with CCP, rather it's going through the industry as a whole.

The article had to do with poor management and lack of direction, not diverting into another genre.

Also the mentality for CCP to be a single IP company is also shortsighted and risky from a company standpoint. While WoD was a mistake for the fact that they were spread thin development wise, and didn't have a clear goal in mind for the game. The idea of branching out into the WoD series wasn't a mistake.
