    with the MJD you should be able to range tank nearly all angel ships, and at 50-100km I'd expect the only thing that can hit you is cruise missiles which should be almost all explosive, and they should hit for very little with a shiny explosive hardener + invuln + resist bonus.

    I'd suggest checking the game logs to see what is hitting you the hardest. Target those ships first, and/or adjust the resists to better match them.

    it is probably also worth it to use kinetic missiles so you get the ship bonus to damage.

    absolutely! the frig mods are pretty quick to invent then build and not too bulky. you also don't have to invest too much isk to get started so if the markets take a bad swing you have a limited downside.

    and I can't confirm nor deny those margins, however it seems the slight skill barrier to t2 manufacturing provides far more profit opportunities.

    there is a post in GD about using thukker assembly arrays which give a -10% material cost but can only be used in lowsec, and are getting removed in an upcoming patch.

    also seems like a decent way for null alliances to turn all their raw materials from the rorquals and moongoo ops into something they can sell.

    looks like they were still at a concept art stage, so I'm guessing it will take a while to get them in game. they also look kinda awful, but what do I know?

  • Quick question on blitzing Dread Pirate Scarlett in EVE Gameplay Center

    acceleration gates have a big activation radius so I typically double click in space in the general direction of where the gate goes, so as soon as I get inside 2,500m I can click activate gate and instantly warp into the next pocket. If you click approach on the gate you can get to 0 and lose momentum

    if the second room has blood raiders they are the only ones that even seem able to hit, but you are going so fast you shouldn't lose too much shield to them.

    cap boosters are a pain in the ass on the rattle.ammos+2MTU will take half your cargo, boosters will take the other half.

    shiny invul are WAY over the price for most, especially in term of effect. 300M an invul for +16% ehp/s over a T2invul, iirc.

    carrying 2 mtus is a huge waste of space and imo not worth it. loot prices were at a level where they weren't worth it a while back and have since crashed and burned further.

    and I'd hardly say op is a newbro, the fit posted has t2 cruise, t2 sentries, faction bcus, and shiny invluns, costs more than nearly all of my fits.

    With my skills Bouncers hit to 80k, Rapid Heavy's hit to 60k. The Rapid heavies I found will even hit frigates quite well. Just jump in, MJD to 100 and wait for stuff to come into range or motor back a bit.

    Of course you have to adjust your mid slot tank for where you are running missions.

    It became too easy and that is why I prefer using the Ishtar or the Gila. Ran a few in a Wolf, but takes too long if there are a lot of ships.

    if you are going to mjd might as well use cruise to match the ranges better. Can also throw on a medium booster to rep up any incidental damage you do end up taking and then use your rigs for range/application. ishtar/gila is also too easy imo, and the lower dps leads to sitting around doing nothing which is even more boring.

    I enjoy it, sometimes I play more sometimes less. Right now I mostly leave my trade alts logged in and update orders when I have a moment and then run manufacturing jobs when I have open slots.

    keep meaning to get back into combat, but never seem to make it there for long. usually get drunk and go on a roam every so often and that satiates the blood lust.

    Yeah, because alts are a thing. I definitely dont want to see somebody with 5 Tengus run a lv4 blockade within 5 minutes and get like 75mil isk and 50k LP totally, or somebody having 10 accounts get 750k total LP within less than half an hour by camping a large complex. And completion time does scale with number if one player can hardly break the logi.

    A burner pays out ~30m and doing it with say 5 people means each gets 6m. most burner missions are short solo, bringing more people will speed up the combat time, but so what you spend most of your time in warp anyways. If you can get everyone to take a mission and run them all that might be interesting, however most of the time only a few will have access, and who knows where they end up. you might end up doing 6 jumps one way, 6 back, and then 6 to the next one. travel time is the main limit there. Even with standard missions travel time becomes a huge factor with multiple pilots. Adding overwhelming dps only speeds it up so much. you are typically better off just doing everything solo.

    and like you say it is pretty obvious why you can't get multiple rewards for one mission or FW plex.

    With signal cartel I went on some vulfpeck fleets where you take destroyers and logi into a wolf-rayet system where small guns and armor tanks get huge bonuses and start wrecking sleepers. I'd like more stuff like that, the biggest drawback to that is once you run the sites in the WH well you're done till they respawn. I want something I can constantly form up on, get some income, and maybe some pvp.

    You do not change Omega to Alpha without logging off and back on. Luckely there is a daily restart so people wouldn't just stayed logged in... :)

    T1 frigs can be very deadly in the right hands, I suggest joining a corp and learning some tricks with them. Many pilots do go to fw lowsec in t1 frigs to do solo and small gang pvp. If you are also in a t1 frig it should be reasonably easy to find fights. of course some will outclass you or some will bring friends, this is eve don't expect a fair fight. t1 frigs are pretty cheap so imo it is worth it to take chances in them.

    there are some 30 day skins that can be dropped by npcs, not sure exactly who drops what though.

    also every so often ccp has some events that drop skins, see the Guardian's Gala skins, the crimson harvest skins, also cold iron and purity of the throne.

    sounds like you hit your cap then, in eve even rather small increases in efficiency can have large price tags. and if you are mining in lowsec it probably isn't worth it.

    PS: team up with some other players, a bunch of miners + a porpoise is far more effective than a bunch of miners all alone.

  • Need your advice! What Ship / Build for LVL 4 missions? in EVE Gameplay Center

    paladin is awesome, does 1100 dps out to ~70km in bastion with a ton of falloff on top, and same dps with a little less range out of bastion. with the insane range and a MJD you can move all over the pocket and still apply damage. also you can just fit a mwd and have enough mobility to move around. nothing boring about the paladin.

    rattler does crazy damage and can have a great tank, but has awful mobility. I usually use a mjd and auto-targeting missiles to afk missions. I do need to upgrade the rigs on mine as I went pure missile application, a t2 drone range rig would be nice especially with the mjd. I wouldn't use torps, way too short range and bad application. and I'm pretty meh on heavy drones, they are just too slow. I do always carry a gecko to wreck frigs (and really anything else) that get too close but it has to be close otherwise the travel time between targets means low effective dps.

    mach is love mach is just great. I use mach the most. I have 2 in most of my mission stations one for arty one for ac. much faster to just swap ships than swap fits. Mach hulls are damn cheap compared to what they used to be and I typically go with inexpensive fits.

    this is what fitting tools were made for, I don't know what your boosting skills, mining skills, or drone skills look like

    at max skills

    porpoise with 5 minning drones II and a mindlink 41,766 m3/hr
    proc with t2 strips, 2 t2 MLU, and 5 mining drone II 118,764 m3/hr

    proc with no boosts 83,537 m3/hr

    I'd think the setup with the porpoise would end up winning, just because you can fill up the ore bay and use that as a hauler, the 2 proc setup would have to run back to station pretty often
