  • Are Capsuleers definitively "Immortal" outside of their ships? in EVE Communication Center

    Stitcher wrote:
pilots have access to expensive cybernetics, expensive weapons, expensive armour and gear, and if it comes to that, can afford to pay for an elite bodyguard. The pilot themselves may or may not be a dangerous combatant, but the two ex-megacorporate "Personnel Affairs Agents" with DUST implants in their heads and augmented muscles who are following them at a discrete distance in nice and anonymous, but capacious suits?

Bear in mind, in real life there is such a thing as armoured clothing, to be worn by politicians. It's good enough to stop a 9mm handgun at point blank range. and in the EVE world, we know dropsuits have shield emitters, maybe you can buy more discreet ones that operate under clothing.

So the scenario is: you attack the capsuleer. With their heightened cybernetic reflexes, they dodge the attack, or with their expensive armoured executive clothing and shield emitter belt they are spared the worst of it. An instant later their bodyguard have drawn scrambler pistols and you are now a microwave dinner. The capsuleer pays any fines and expenses to the station management and loses the miniscule cost in a cunning tax return the next time they sell a shipment of missile launchers. Your corpse is thrown in the biomass vats and used to fertilise the stations' hydroponics bay.

If you think about it this is probably the most accurate. The fact that capsuleers are intimidating is almost entirely because of their massive amounts of wealth and lets face it, if you know that the guy you are talking to just docked a dreadnought in the hangar because you watched his ship come in and dock whilst dreaming of owning one yourself and roaming the stars you probably would not want to harm him anyway. Not just because there is likely a bodyguard that is/was a DUST soldier or ex-megacorp agent that would have you dead before you could move an inch if they suspected you meant harm to their employer who is paying them copious amounts of money that is legitimately just chump change for him/her but because you would just have the awe factor that they can command such massive machines of war and death.

  • Bloodmaer Academy EVE Fiction Contest : December-January in EVE Communication Center

I apologize for the delay on the final winner of the contest. I had some issues come up in life outside of New Eden. I will be announcing them as soon as I am able to have more than 5 minutes and can finalize the decision. I will also be dealing out the rewards then. I apologize for any inconvenience for anybody.

To be perfectly fair, please consider my post and Nastrata's to be the same story, I did that to get a dual perspective on the same event. I'm sorry if that wasn't obvious. XD

Alright, I wasn't sure if both accounts belonged to you. I shall change it, and I appreciate the honesty. Well written either way :D

  • Bloodmaer Academy of New Eden Recruiting : Top Rate Education for all! in EVE Corporations, Alliances and Organizations Center

Bloodmaer Academy of New Eden is a corporation based in Amarr space, but with offices elsewhere, that is devoted strictly to the education and training of new players to the world of EVE Online. We offer courses on everything except for piracy and we are currently looking for students as well as instructors. We graduate our students into both the member and government corporations of the alliance Tranquillian Empire. We guarantee top rate education and will provide the skillbooks to get you started in EVE Online, if you stick around for our advanced courses you will also be provided the skills for more advanced ships, possibly even the ship itself.

If you are new to EVE Online, have something new you would like to learn, or even have something valuable you would like to offer to those seeking to learn then Bloodmaer Academy of New Eden is the place for you. Drop me a mail for further details or if you are interested. Our in-game recruitment channel is BAONE Recruitment. We do have a Teamspeak and would like to have a brief interview to get to know our incoming students and instructors before they join up.

This is a great place to get started or even to make a new start for yourself.

  • When is the next fiction competition? in EVE Communication Center

See the post I made earlier today. I am just starting one now.

  • Bloodmaer Academy EVE Fiction Contest : December-January in EVE Communication Center

Well Ladies and Gentlemen. Now that I have got my basic needs and expenses covered I find that my wallet has some spare ISK in the corner of it, what better use of said spare ISK than to put it towards those budding fiction writers out there? So after much deliberate debate and argument with myself I have decided that perhaps it is my turn to host an EVE Fiction Contest.

The topic for this fiction is going to be unrestricted. It's a free write this time. I look forward to seeing everyones fiction, the contest will be running until the 7th of January. I hope to see alot of posts and efforts to go into this.

The rules are the same as usual, but are listed below anyway. On the 7th I will select 3 winners, first place prize will be 75 million isk, the second 50 million, and the third 25 million. Even if you do not recieve a prize however know that every person who participates in the contest is a winner, simply because you have likely gone outside of your comfort zone. Writing is a very personal thing, every author makes connections and becomes attached to what they write so thank you all for sharing.

    1. Keep the writing as clean as possible, there are some who might find certain things offensive on the forums
    2. Please limit your entry to no more than one post
    3. Show good sportsmanship, especially once the contest is completed and the winners have been selected.
    4. Last but not least, and most important. Have Fun! This contest is meant to give people a chance to do something they may not be able to do on a regular basis.

I myself am both an author and an avid reader so I will greatly enjoy the chance to read and review the entries. I thoroughly look forward to the stiff competition that I expect to see. Fly Safe and Happy Writing!
