Good luck finding a group that does what you're looking for.

Yeah, it had fallen out of style well before the time I took my break but a guy can still hope.

    Also Bump for Saturday.

  • 82m SP Returning - Looking for Old School Piracy Corp in EVE Corporations, Alliances and Organizations Center

I took a bit of a burn-out break for the last 8 months or so. I'm looking to return and get back to my roots as a swashbuckling, ransoming, old fashioned, pirate.

I have about 5 years of lowsec experience in solo and small gang warfare mostly cruiser and lower, though I can fly all races sub caps.

I am self sufficient isk-wise and have a 70m SP utility alt who will remain in a holding corp.

What I'm looking for is a small to medium, established lowsec piracy corp that still honors ransoms, with a solo focus (if that still exists). I'd like to be able to hang out and chat with corpies about our exploits and maybe go on some roams every so often. I don't want to be doing CTAs, or required corp roams, or the like.

Before someone pops in with, "Just join the Tuskers/the Bastards" I am hoping to find something a bit smaller before I go after either of those groups, I just don't really know the landscape of lowsec anymore to know who else is out there.

I'm on US TZ usually late at night for the West Coast

    Thanks for your time.

Nope. No it is not sir. Not worth anything anymore.

  • Serious issue that does not need to be fixed AT ALL in EVE Communication Center

    Mark Androcius wrote:
Ok, so in EVE, bigger ships, warp slower than smaller ships, this has to do with mass and this makes A LOT of sense.
    However..... small issue.

The way a warp drive works is like this:
You create a bubble around your ship ( warp bubble ) and contract space in front of that bubble, while expanding it behind the bubble.

This means you move space itself and not the ship, ergo, your ship effectively stands still.
What that in turn means, is that the size or mass of your ship, has ZERO effect on your warp speed, since you are moving space, not the ship.

You could be forgiven for thinking that, because the ship is bigger, you need a bigger warp bubble and would therefore be slower, however, bigger ship, bigger warp engine, it's proportional, so technically speaking, it shouldn't matter.

So in reality ( if we ever do make warp-drive a reality ) a freighter is probably just as fast in terms of warp speed, as an interceptor, only the align speed is severely impacted with the increase in mass.

Don't get me wrong, i don't want anything to change in game, but i did feel like pointing out this flaw, if only for the fun of it.

The pseudo-science is strong with this one.

It may be a simple scam but sometimes simplicity is the best policy. Especially when they make metric f-tons off this one in particular. You can rest assured that they undoubtedly have more complex scams out there that would be to your liking. They just didn't deem a noob worthy of such effort.

Basically the pirate story thread, that used to be the whole forum. Also people used to do things like ransoms and making people sing on teamspeak. I can't remember the last time I was ransomed, which is odd since with the insurance changes it seems more viable.

Come round my neck of the woods and you'll find a ransom from me at least. Lol

Perhaps part of the issue is that the decent FCs can't be great because they fly with trash pilots who fly trash ships? So they are always stuck in just semi-decent or eventually retire from leading fleets due to the trash. Just putting it out there

Ignore Chicken Chessur. He comes to our area in an anti-frigate faction cruiser then complains and rages like a child when a couple of frigates pop his precious ship.

    For example;

The main problem with forums is that anyone can post here. This leads to extremely bad input.

Its like a bad reality TV show... I don't want to watch but the controller was in the kitchen at first and now that I've started I can't stop. I simply need to find out if the weird awkward guy really does get to bang the hot chick at the end of the episode.
