Help me Capsuleers, you're (probably) my only hope! I think there's a fondness for LEGO here, and I wonder if you might like to support a project of mine with likes - just not here!

    The X-Bomber from Star Fleet

So, yes, it's a spaceship. In EVE terms, it's probably a battlecruiser. It comes from an old Japanese puppetry driven show called X-Bomber in Japan, Star Fleet in most other places - including where I first watched it in the early 1980s. Loads of videos around of it, and my own site here:

    Star Fleet X-Bomber Homepage

This has been a very long-term relationship for me! Basically I'm trying to get this model in the running to be an actual LEGO set, which takes a lot of support, and at the moment I need a little help getting it off the ground so I can get more time and a better run at it. So if you do happen to like LEGO, and spaceships, and missiles, and lasers, and transforming mecha type shows, then it would be great if you could support the idea on the Lego Ideas site. Whilst I am of course biased, I do think it'd make a great playable set. I hope this is the right thread for this?! Cheers! Fly safe!

Very cool. I use to make all kinds of things with the regular LEGO's years ago for my Nieces and Nephews as well as my friends kids whenever I visited them. I'd have the kids separate the blocks into color piles and after that I'd have them search for specific types of blocks as I was building various items. Wish I had taken pictures of the items, some of them were amazing, my friends even called me the LEGO King.

Anyway, I created a LEGO ID account and gave support to your project. Hope you get the required amount of supporters so your dream can become a reality. Good luck to you.

    Hey there Zimmy Zeta,

Been a long time and it's good to see you again. This place just hasn't been the same without you here.

Exploration rewards are just a drop in the Ocean now compared to the bucket loads of ISK it use to generate years ago.

Hell, I was averaging about 100 mill per hour running high sec sites and that was just the ISK rewards, I would hoard away all the high meta level modules. With CCP nerfing the hell out of loot drops and all the competition, it's almost not worth the time to run those sites.

Anyway, hope you post here more often, help us try to break these forums again before CCP activates the new forums..

I'm glad you had your car fixed for free.
As an owner of a similar car in the past I have few things to say:

    1) It is impossible for a car from 1997 with 2 previous owners to have only 269k km on the mileage counter. One of its owners definitely rigged it before selling. I know this because my dad had a brand new 2000 Kia Sephia 1.6 SLX which he sold to my uncle in 2001 when our family went to live abroad for the next 7 years. The car remained somewhat unused but regularly serviced during that period. When we came back, this time my uncle was abroad and I used the car while he was gone. The car was at 190k km (118k miles) and had trouble climbing up steep hills in my city with 4 people in the car. I used the car one day every 2 weeks, caring about its maintenance up until in 2016 March when the range of the car can only go on a full tank (400km or 248 miles) was severely limited due to old age gas guzzling and it could no longer climb hills even at the first gear. The car's entire engine was pronounced dead at 290k km (180k miles) by the guy at the repairshop. So most likely your car was either held in a closed garage for a long time by the previous owners or the mileage was rigged before you bought it. Sad

    2) I was afraid of driving my car faster than 80 km/h(50 mph) even on a highway because I was afraid I would damage the engine. You say you drive at 85 mph. If you drove only 3 mph faster and had a flux capacitor equipped on the car, then you would be able to travel through time, lol. Lol No,seriously, that is 140km and dangerously fast for an old, non-luxury car. You could skid and end up in an accident no matter how careful you drive. Sad

It's a Honda Prelude, not a Kia. 400.000 km is a good average lifespan for a Prelude, specially if they've been maintained by the book at officialy licensed shops. And anyway, if anyone was to rig the counter, would be to make the vehicle look younger... not older, IMO. Blink

Yes it's a 1997 Honda Prelude with 167,000 miles on it. I'm the 3rd owner. The 1st owner did the regular maintenance schedule with the Dealership and sold it to another person who took over payments and kept the maintenance package going who then traded the car in at the Dealership for another Honda. When I bought it about 6 years ago, the car had 89,000 miles on it.

The Transmission is starting to show signs of needing repair, the pause when automatically shifting between 1st gear and 2nd gear is getting rather long now. Other than a small oil leak, a few drops on ground after sitting overnight, the car is in excellent condition, both exterior and interior, with a very strong running motor. It's also very fast with great gas millage. The fastest I've had it up to is 125 MPH with 1500 RPM's left to go on the Tachometer before it hit Red Line. The Speedometer actually goes up to 150 MPH. The car loves mountain roads and responds great due to it's Front Wheel Drive and low suspension.

Also those cars are known for going over 300,000 miles before needing a major rebuild or replacement. Anyway, as long as I take care of the car with proper maintenance, hopefully it'll last me a very long time.

    Hello LAGL,

I'm having a great day, despite the fact that I have to be at work in 8 hrs.

On Thursday, 10 days ago while traveling to work in my automatic 1997 Honda Prelude with 167k miles, it starting acting weird. Before I get into that story here's a little bit of personal info.

I'm a driver who has a lead foot, meaning I view traveling around 80 to 85 mph as cruising. I also dart in and out of traffic too. Yeah, I'm one of those drivers.

Anyway, while I was traveling to my job in Torrance, CA from Riverside, CA, doing around 80 mph, all of a sudden my car shuts off like someone flipped a switch off, no check engine light, no sputtering, no nothing, just off. As it's starting to slow down, about a minute later all of a sudden it's back running again, smooth as silk. As I get closer to work, about 15 minutes later, it does it again. And again. Each time the interval between shut offs is getting shorter.

I decided to exit the Freeway in Long Beach and as I turn onto the street from the offramp, the car shuts off again, only this time it doesn't kickstart back up again due to traveling slow. Also I notice the Power Steering and Power Brakes aren't working either. So I make it to the side of the road and go to start it up, it turns over and revs up, then as I let go of the key from start to the run position, the car dies like before, as if it had a shut off switch on it. I tried it about 4 or 5 times before it stayed running and I proceeded the rest of the way to work.

After work I started driving back home and it does it multiple times again. On Friday I try it again and it does the same thing again. Only this time it does it also while sitting at a red light on city streets. So when I get back home I start researching the Internet for a clue to the problem. After a while I find out that my car had a Manufacturer Recall done on it in 2003 for an Ignition Switch problem which exhibited the same symptoms. One of the Honda forum boards said to call the main Honda Headquarters Recall hotline and see what they say.

I called and customer service said I will have to do a Diagnostic Check first which costs $130 to rule out any other issues that might be causing the problem. If the Recall item is defective again, they will fix it for free. They also said there was a second Recall item which I should check that was done in 2006 for a faulty Ignition Interlock System. Basically when you shut off the car with the transmission set in any other position other than Park, the key can be removed and car can roll causing harm to you or others.

Well I checked and sure enough it also exhibited that symptom as well. Honda Customer Service got my info since I'm the 3rd owner and updated their records on my car as well as the millage amount and told me to set up an appointment with a Honda Service center which I did on Saturday. Unfortunately they couldn't look at it til Tuesday morning. I left the car there and later Tuesday afternoon they called and verified the Recall items that were replaced years ago were once again defective.

They called me everyday to keep me informed of their progress and on Friday afternoon they said the car was fixed and ready for pickup. I went there today, Saturday morning, expecting to pay the $130 for the Diagnostic Check and to my surprise, they said I didn't owe them anything.

I took the car for a test drive from Riverside, CA to Buena Park, CA, then back to Riverside again and it drove excellent. Not a single problem at all. So yes, I'm having a great day due to getting major work done on my car for the best price of all, FREE. Now it's time for me to go to sleep for work tonight. Talk to you all later.

    Big smile

  • Question about Missions in EVE Gameplay Center

There's a 10% increase in mission reward for each 0.1 difference of system security level from 1.0 down to 0.0 per Agent location which is then increased by each trained level of Negotiation skill.

I don't know if the amount of LP's offered per mission is based on the same principle. I think the mission LP amount is actually set as a base amount for each mission which is then increased per each trained level of the Agent Division 'Connections' skills.

  • How a secure container in ship’s cargo works? in EVE Communication Center

The chance of a container staying intact after the destruction of your ship is random. The security level of the system doesn't matter, you can assemble a secure container and set password in any Station or Citadel where you have access to Items Hangar Bay.

Using an Industrial Transport ship filled with Giant Secure Containers to increase the amount of the ships cargo bay capacity is a very good idea.

I'm not sure but I think if a Secure Container locked with a password drops from a wreck intact, the contents can still be gained just by taking the secure container to Items Hangar Bay and selecting the option to repackage it. Also even if the Container is locked, it won't be anchored automatically, you need to launch it from your cargo bay and stay within 2500 m range to anchor it.

  • Minmatar Mission Runner NEW TO EVE in EVE Gameplay Center

    Hello and welcome to Eve.

All of the replies have good info. A passive shield tank with Shield Extenders and Invulnerability Field modules is easy to fit and works very well in low level missions. For higher level missions, an active shield tank with Shield Booster and Shield Boost Amplifier along with mission specific Damage Resistance modules is more suited.

Choice of weapons depends on your piloting tactics as well as skill level. Fitting shield tanks allows options to fit up modules in low slots to increase damage output and weapon tracking, thus making it much easier to quickly complete the missions.

Last point is that having a larger ship doesn't always equate to being able to easily complete the mission. Personally I like using medium hull class ships for higher level missions since they're harder to hit due to having a smaller ship signature as well as being more agile and faster. Course the down side of that is they also have less DPS output compared to large hull class ships which means it'll take a bit longer to complete the missions.

Anyway, I hope you have a long and rewarding career here in Eve.

  • Attempting to repair Thukker Tribe Standings in EVE Gameplay Center

    Endecroix advice is correct.

Also since you have -2.6 Thukker Tribe Faction standing with Diplomacy Level 4, it would be wise to train up level 5, that should put you above -2.00 standing which will allow you access to agents above level 1.

As for ruining your standings with all the other Factions, that will only happen by completing Event Agent missions such as Storyline, Cosmos, Data Center, Circle and Career Agents along with destroying Faction NPC's and structures during Security encounter missions.

I suggest training up Diplomacy level 5 to hopefully get above -2.00 standing, then run missions with Thukker Mix and just decline all Storyline offers.

If Thukker Tribe Faction isn't above -2.00 standing after training up Diplomacy level 5, go ahead and run the 3 Minmatar Data Center 'Graduation Certificate' Agents for positive derived standing gains towards Thukker Tribe and if needed, the Data Center 'Tag' Agents until Thukker Tribe is above -2.00 standing, then go do regular missions for Thukker Mix.

Just remember you will also get negative derived standing hits towards the other Factions when completing Event Agent missions so you'll want to keep the amount of those missions to a minimum.

    Good luck to you.
