    Theorycrafting in EVE ist ein Witz gegen das von WoW. Selbst die meisten WoW-Spieler wissen das nicht.

    In WoW wird um Nachkommastellen optimiert. Da kommt es drauf an, ob man 0,1% mehr DPS macht oder nicht. Dafür werden Programme geschrieben, die simulieren wie ein Spieler optimal zu spielen hat. Simcraft ist dabei die erste Anlaufstelle. Einfach mal auf den Link gehen, etwas runterscrollen und einen von den Links anklicken. Wo hat EVE etwas ähnliches? Das ist Komplexität.

    Und weil das Simulieren zum Optimieren nicht genug ist, werden auch nach dem Spielen die Kampflogs noch ausgewertet. Das sieht dann so aus. Einfach mal auf "Buffs" klicken. (rip langsame PCs). Locker 100MB+ an Daten, die 20 Mann in 3-4 Stunden generieren.

    EVE dagegen? EFT-warrioring, bei dem unendliche Diskussionen um das optimale Fitting gibt, weil es keine objektive Bemessungsgrundlage gibt. Nutzlose Combat Logs.

  • EvE und die Frauen... in Deutsches Forum

    Wie andere schon gesagt haben, EVE und WoW sind fast komplett verschieden (nicht nur quietsch-bunt-grafisch). Imo ist EVE von Grund auf ein kompetetives Spiel, während WoW das nur ist, wenn man es so spielen möchte.

    Ich hab selbst gute zwei Jahre lang EVE für relativ kompetetives WoW an den Nagel gehängt. Und es fällt schon sehr auf wie viele Frauen WoW spielen, nicht nur im Vergleich mit EVE. Gerade wenn man erst mit WoW anfängt und sich in den Casual-Gilden umher treibt, findet man locker allein in deren Raids gute ~30% Frauen. In den zwei Jahren hab ich dort locker 100+ Frauen im TS gehört. Ich spiele seit 7+ Jahren EVE, und die Menge an Frauen die ich seither im TS/Vent gehört habe, kann ich an einer Hand abzählen. Eine einzige davon hat in einer der Top-Allianzen von EVE gespielt (TRI). Der Rest nur in Renter-/Petallianzen.

    Nach oben hin allerdings sieht es in WoW nicht anders aus als in EVE. Ich bin selbst nach ca einem halben Jahr in meine erste Top-1000-Gilde, dort hatten wir in unserem eigenen Roster keine Frau, von zwei rivalisierenden Gilden wusste ich, dass sie jeweils 1-2 Frauen dabei hatten. Ein Jahr später gings dann in meine aktuelle, zu der Zeit Top-100-Gilde, und wenig überraschend gibt es dort keine Frauen. Wenn ich mal die Gelegenheit hatte, mit Leuten von ähnlichem/höheren Skilllevel zu raiden (inklusive Top 10 world), ebenfalls keine Frauen. Das hält sich dort auch locker im einstelligen Prozentbereich.

    Die Grundeinstellung Frauen gegenüber ist meiner Erfahrung nach im kompetetiven WoW generell alles andere als positiv. Viele fangen an simple statistische Fakten über die Geschlechterverteilung mit Vorurteilen zu mischen und am Ende kommen dabei teilweise ziemlich miese Kommentare zu Tage. Je weiter es ranking-mäßig nach oben geht, desto dünner wird die Menge an Frauen. Einige der Leute, mit denen ich raide, haben sicherlich seit Jahren keine Frau mehr im TS gehabt. Und das merkt man, wenn sie dann doch mal auf eine Treffen, sei es bei nem Twinkraid oder einer Bewerbung. Da werden sich die Logs angeschaut... Festgestellt, dass sie scheiße spielt - und am Ende heißt es: "Ist doch klar, ist ja auch ne Frau." Dass 9/10 Bewerbern scheiße spielen, spielt dabei keine Rolle.

    Any chance of a m³ reduction on heavy missiles as well? 4 damage types x 3 ammo types (faction, precision, fury) makes for 12 sets of missiles that one should carry in PVP. Especially in a RHML boat the amount of cargo required for heavy missiles is extraordinary compared to the other ammo types.

    Looking at how you've been in four class 4's, that's 50% of the systems that never have a k-space exit. I am not entirely sure about C5s and C6s, but most, if not all of those only come with w-space statics too.

    You only were in four systems that could in theory have k-space exits but aren't bound to, you didn't even get unlucky. Complaining about not finding a k-space exit in four wormholes is like complaining the droprate of nanoribbons has been nerfed when you didn't get a single one from two anoms.

    I fail to see the problem here. I share the opinion that Gnaw gave as first reply to this thread.

    It seems we got used to the fact that wormholes are a little playground where stalking and hiding come with better results than numbers. It used to be the same in EVE since forever. Five years ago or so every major alliance used to fly what they wanted to fly in PVP, so people with superior skill killed them to no end using sniper hacs. In recent history it was armor hacs, then it was abaddons, then nagas. The average alliance slowly catches up to those that invent and exploit new tactics.

    This is what is happening in wormholes just as it does in 0.0. People started flying flying T3 fleets ages ago, with the rise of dreads + triage carriers running anoms people switched from Guardians to Archons for RR, R&K showed us how Bhaalgorns worked, now everyone flies dreads + carriers + bhaalgorns, t3s, there's not much left to get an edge over anyone else other than numbers.

    I don't see how people are more risk-averse in wormholes than they are in 0.0. In contrast to 0.0, people in wormholes fly T3s as the "standard" ship instead of Drakes, they throw around now 2-4b capitals and 1b faction BS which you never see in 0.0.

    You don't get no PVP in wormholes because people don't want to fight, you get none because only a fraction of the inhabitated wormholes contain PVP corporations/alliances. There's 50 or so "notable" WH corporations/alliances in the ~300 high class wormholes we have, of those 50 only another fraction actually focus on PVP, they are spread out through different timezones and member sizes, which in the end results in a tiny possibility of somewhat "even" PVP happening in wormholes.

    Since you mentioned our alliance. We don't roam 0.0 because no one would fight us in wormholes (as in they're afraid of doing it). The chance to find something to shoot in wormholes (even just bearing people) is so small it's not worth wasting all our time for.
    We don't magically get a lot of good fights in 0.0. Literally no one fights us in 0.0 without at least at 2:1 numbers advantage, I'd say 3:1 to 5:1 are the average response rates to our gangs going around in 0.0. I don't like it either, but I have to live with it and got used to it instead of complaining much.

    All this is not a "problem" of wormholes, it's a problem in the concept of the game and holds true anywhere from wormholes to 0.0, to low and high sec.

    Learn to live with it or go do something else.
