  • Eve in borderless window / dualscreen in EVE Communication Center

There is an option called "Fixed Window", but that just sticks it in the corner of the primary screen.

Run it windowed, not borderless. Yes, you get a bit less screen then you'd have when running borderless, but it's easier to manipulate said windows.

  • blaster doable lvl 4 in EVE Gameplay Center

Just to see how dumb an idea it was I ran Serpentis Blockade in a blaster Astarte a few times. It worked. I wouldn't recommend it.

And yeah, medium blasters and large blasters are very different beasts for these purposes. One might work in some missions whereas the other might be preferred in others. And of course there are almost always better options available either way.

There's basicalyl only two ships that can use blasters in missions and get away with it.

These being the Rokh and the Vindicator. The rokh because it has this massive range boost (for blasters ofc). And the shield fitted vindi because it has a massive damage output (and fairly decent tracking to start off with).
A mega isn't as viable due to two reasons: A it hasn't the slots for a a shield tank, and consequently B it's too slow to armor tanka AND use blasters.

So back to the rokh (I'd recommend this as it's quite price/quality efficient): An MWD is a huge plus, although you can get away with a decent afterburner. But with null you should be pushing around 40km, more if you fit tracking mods in the lows, but that might mess with your tank. with some mag stabs and TII drones you should be able to pump about 800DPS out, it may need help with tracking hwoever..

The vindi (utterly expensive): Absolutely needs an MWD, it's utterly useless without it. Next is the choice of gank versus tank. With all tracking and damage in the lows and TII sentries the vindi is capable of pushing out in excess of 2000DPS (this is assuming some large hybrid damage implants and faction mag stabs). Your tank hwoever will be rather flimsy, the cap even more so, with ASB it's a viable mission fit, but i would not recommend it. Unless you go for 3 TII CCC, and an officer shield booster (which pushes the price up even more).
It might be preferable to sacrifice damage mods in the lows for reactor diagnostics to get more cap to the mids. You should still be able to pump out about roughly 900-1000DPS this way (and you'll likely be wondering why you spent as much isk as you did).

Don't rush into battleships. You need a good few months of skills to fly a battleship properly (yes, you can sit in one in a few days, you won't be able to use it effectively). Hell, you need a good couple months of skills to fly a battlecruiser effectively.

Bigger is not better in EVE, there's nothing wrong with flying frigates or cruisers. Hell, some people with years of training fly nothing but frigates.

The smaller ships are somewhat forgiving to low skills, the larger ships are much less so. The smaller ships are also much cheaper to replace when they explode.

Not to mention much more agile and fun to fly :).

It all comes down to what YOU want to do in eve.
Isk isn't everything. If you're mindlessly grinding for isk, with no real use for it. Then there's no point.

You've got to give yourself a focus, a project, and a goal.
The focus is how you make isk, the project is what keeps you busy in eve (gathering blueprints, exploring sites, pvp), the goal is what you work towards, what you ultimately wish to accomplish. (this can be making a corporation, go living in nullsec, be the most competitive trader in a certain region, etc)

  • [Odyssey] Tech 1 Battleships - Gallente in EVE Technology and Research Center

Please leave the hyperion alone. It's fine as it is.

Making a model desgined to carry eight guns carry only six is just silly.

It doesn't need more drones, it doesn't need less mids, it doesn't need a utility high, and it most certainly doesn't need another low.

The powergrid it can use, but again it doesn't need it. certainly not if you're going to be decreasing the number of guns.

So in essence you borked this on up completely.
I'm good with the mega and domi changes though. (although making the domi even slower is anoying, with the added tank it makes sense)

I'm happy you finally decided to commit to fixing this issue.

However I'll be holding you to this one, so no returning to the 'we're-not-going-to-do-it-since-we're-not-sure'- stage. As that was ******* annoying.

So far that is about all the shortcuts I use.

    Hope this helps :)

I also tend to set MWD and scrams on my primary F-keys

and active tanking modules on my alt+F-keys

It's of course down to taste

I am just looking for somthing to use my API that I can fool around with, and plan different training queues before I actually commit in game.

I have found others, but I don't know which is best.

What do you guys use? what do you think is best?

    Thanks very much!

I doubt they'll continue to be such once CCP finishes with the revisions.

They could potentially change this, (from an RP standpoint the caldari will very much dislike concord at this point.).
    But they have to make:

    A. sec status and concord stadnings seperate things (and apparantly this is very coded into eacother).
    B. Make standings differ, so not everyone is +concord (well empirewise that is)
    C. Make it so you don't get +faction boost for every faction. (sorta ties in with B)
    D. Make the missions for concord bring in next to no LP. (because theres tooo many benefits otherwise, and no pooint to incursions)

Edit: My dustie did passively choose sides.

Every time I fought for the Gallente I gave it my all.

Every time I fought for the caldari, I was as annoying as I could be to my team.
Running into a wall of gunfire, bunnyhopping in front of tanks, standing in front of my teammate's shots, distracting them by shooting them in the back, crashing transports full of other bunnies, etc.

In short: in order for me to pick a side, I had to be a massive **** to my fellow mercs. (very eve style) But not exactly compelling gameplay.

    Edit 2: fixed spelling

Exactly but that isn't very liked on FPSes. I would love a "Join random, Join faction a, or join faction b" option on the battle finder. Sure you might have to wait for a minute or two but it would at least be an option instead of being an asshat to people.

Exactly my point, that would avoid me having to be a tool

Not actually from the French side :). Moreover I didn't mention the Portuguese.

Spain might potentially beat Belgium, but I've never know many Spaniards willing to learn proper English (I've lived there for two years, so I believe I can safely say this). Anyway, it's hard to say, there's many more Spaniards, but they just may not feel like using English.

It hasn't been a sustainable situation for over 4 years, as that titan loomed over caldari prime in the middle of gallente core space.

That the caldari titan would go down at some point was a given. (or the caldari would have had to take over luminaire completely and stomp out the entire gallente navy).

Point is, the caldari mercs on the ground are going to have a bad day, as more and more gallente forces flood the surface.

Any improvement on the vanilla version is minimal, although you can sell them for a few million isk. I think my IZS Imicus says it's worth 4.5 million.

Of course, some players might see one as a nice trophy to pad their killboard with.....

This^^. Don't fly it whatever you do.

You can't insure them and they make sought after targets.

It's EvE's equivalent of train spotting: "Oh look. a Sarum Magnate! I don't think I've killed one of those!"

If I were a brand new player, personally I'd just sell it. Last time I looked the Heron was going for 10m isk in Jita.

That would go a long way for a new player.

    Agreed.

They are basically collectors items (or collector kills :p). They don(t have any benefit over the regular TI variant of the vessel.
So either collect them or sell em. Whatever you do, don't use them.

  • returning player with lots of questions in EVE Communication Center

You cannot believe how happy I am to see a thread about making isk that isn't the generic and regular 'how do i buy a plex/how do I get rich quick-post'

    Also wb to eve.

    As to making isk:

    1. PI can supply you a steady income, depending on what you do you could make about 5-15mill in highsec per week off it. Lowsec though will net you closer to 10-50 per week (even 100 mill if you really know what you are doing). I recomemnd reading up on the subject and talk to people that are very into it. They may not give you any trade secrets however :p.

    2. Missions L4: steady income. I recommend getting a fully TII fitted BS with tank and support mods before you attempt to solo. In the case of the domi, missions are still viable with drones, however I'd heartily recommend using sentries (supplemented by small and medium drones for taking care of frigs and cruisers that get close).
Before you start going solo though, try to find someone to fly with you, so there's some more room for error.

If you would like to go fully for guns there's a few options:
Blaster/rail megathron: the extra damage bonus is nice for either. (rails are sheit damage but very very good range, blasters the other way round.)
Blaster/rail Rokh: due to the extended optimal range bonus to hybrids, you can get quite a bit further using blasters. However rails are even more long range on this one.

In either event you should take small drones with you to kill the pesky frigates.

If i was to be killed without an adequate fail safe, any decrease would return that skill to level 2. Even though not reduced by much, that would stop me from from getting back into a hyperion, the ship I was just killed in.

Also assuming I had the most SP in that skill therefore it copped the reduction.

Yes... until tiercide hits and all battleships will be the same and require level 1 (level 3 will be a prerequisite for capitals like Carrier and Dreadnought).

You also can use a ship if you have the skill for it (Battleship 3), but not the prerequisites to inject the skill (Cruiser 4). You cannot currently train a skill if you are missing a prerequisite, but that is changing this summer.

Don't bother trying to find a loop-hole. Just keep your medical clone upgraded like the rest of us. Blink Only cyno-alts with less than 900,000 skill points don't bother with medical clone upgrades.

Basically ^this. Always keep your clone up to date, and always use a jump clone with no implants for pvp.
The mechanics are explained quite well above here. So you should know SP is always worth more than isk.
