  • Anti-Drone EWAR in EVE Technology and Research Center

I'm not saying this is a good or bad idea, nor have I thought through all the implications. It is just an idea I have so I thought I would throw it out there. You can throw it (or me) under the bus, if you so choose :)

The idea is having a module that would reduce an opposing ship's drone bandwidth. I'm thinking maybe a ship without bonuses would only effect it only a small amount. This would allow it to pull one drone off the field, if the opposing ship was using all of its bandwidth.

I think this may also aid in any future balancing that may be needed to ECM because it would give Caldari EWAR ships something other to do than that. I say Caldari because their ethos seems most aligned with an anti-drone mentality. That, and the aforementioned sole role of their EWAR ships.

Maybe this would also help address fleets of drone boats assigning drones. I could be made such that pilots would have to reconnect and reassign drones as the EWAR cycle goes down thus giving interrupts and cycles to DPS.

Anyway, it's just an idea. It may even have been thought of before. I just thought I'd throw it out there.

  • Skills that benefit stealth play? in EVE Gameplay Center

I agree with all that has been said above.

One thing to consider is what type of play you are planning on. As you are Caldari, I assume that you will likely move into a Falcon as a recon pilot after spending some time in bombers and cov-ops. The decision you will need to make in the mid-term is whether you wish to move on to Black-Ops or expand your skills to cover a larger range of bombers and recons. A lot of this depends on the organization you join, and the type of play they lean toward.

If you are planning to move towards Black-Ops sooner than later, you will need to decide on the role you wish to play. I'm not trying to knock the Scorpion, but it is likely that you will find you want to fly another race's Black-Ops ship. My personal opinion is to skill you way through the recons & bombers, and get a feel for the different aspects of play before moving on into Black-Ops. This will also provide a small portion of the cross-training you will need to move in that direction.
