  • Awoxing Trigaboos from Orbit in EVE Communication Center

As it has been made very clear before, the term is Dusties or Dust Bunnies. Trigaboo is a variant of a real life racial slur and one that has nothing to do with, and no place in, EVE online or DUST 514. With this in mind, and due to the non-constructive and troll like nature of this thread, I am locking it - ISD Type40.

    5. Ranting is prohibited.

A rant is a long-winded, redundant post, often filled with angry, non-constructive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and helpful in the development of the game, but rants are disruptive and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise, clear manner and avoid going off on rambling tangents.

While CCP appreciates feedback, they ask that such feedback is constructive and not just a rant. Since this thread is the latter not the former I am locking it - ISD Type40.

    12. Spamming, bumping and pyramid quoting are prohibited.

Spam is defined as the repetitive posting of the same topic or text or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users. This includes “first” and “go back to another game” posts. Bumping posts in order to keep them near the top of the list is also prohibited. Petitions or "/signed" posts are a version of bumping and likewise are not permitted. Pyramid quoting is a response to a forum thread that contains the quotes of four or more previous posters, sometimes with additional spaces added unnecessarily. Posts of this nature are not conducive to community spirit and are unwelcome.

  • Sol System and the collapse of the EVE Gate in EVE Communication Center

As EVE's lore is something that has always fascinated me, I think perhaps the OP and others should watch this:

    EVE Intro circa 2005

The wormhole was not in the Sol System, but rather halfway across our Galaxy, perhaps on the outer edges. That wormhole traversed a vast portion of the known universe and deposited any travellers in to an entirely new Galaxy. Enjoy the video and hopefully it clears up a few misconceptions Cool

EDIT: Updated post with link to better quality video Big smile

  • An excellent start to my day in the EVE-O forums in EVE Communication Center

Sorry to hear that things did go as you had hoped. However if I may offer a few suggestions. When it comes to the F&I forum it is always a good idea to check through the first few pages just by hovering over the titles for each thread, just to get an idea of what they are discussing.

That way you can see whether the idea you had has been discussed before, and whether or not that idea gained any traction within the community. A Google search might also be of value to you in this regard along with checking the "most frequently discussed" sticky thread at the top of page one of the F&I forum. If you come to the conclusion that your idea is unique, then try to flesh it out a little and give people more to think on and discuss.

Don't be shy about trying to get your ideas heard, but be prepared for some people to not like it. As with most things EVE related, it can be a little harsh on the forums sometimes, but in my opinion an idea is always worth fighting for if you believe in it enough.

So go back out there, build on your idea a bit more and go see what people think. Good luck Cool

    14. Redundant threads will be deleted.

As a courtesy to others before beginning a new thread, please look to see if an active thread on that topic has already been established. If so, place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forum needlessly and many good ideas may be lost. Keep discussions about one topic to one thread only.

The thread was moved to OOPE as the OP was asking for information on games other than EVE. The General Discussion forum is for discussion regarding EVE, whereas OOPE has rules and provisions covering the discussion of non-EVE related subjects.

Therefore I am locking this thread as it is cross-posting and not needed - ISD Type40.

    4. Be respectful of others at all times.

The purpose of the forum is to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas. Occasionally, there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Be courteous when disagreeing with others. It is possible to disagree without being insulting.

    6. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another. Text of this nature is not beneficial to the community spirit and will not be tolerated. Corporation, faction and alliance members and other players are cautioned to avoid allowing “in character” disputes from becoming "out of character" personal attacks. The game is designed for role-playing and/or portraying a role and it is sometimes easy for tempers to flare when the lines between the virtual world and the real world are crossed. Please keep in-game disputes in the game and off the forum unless it is clearly a mutual, in-character exchange.

    7. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is the word used to describe a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting the players. Posts of this nature are disruptive and do not contribute to the sense of community we want for our forums.

Thread locked for multiple breaches of the above rules. If you have an idea for an addition to the game that you would like to share with other people, please use the Features & Ideas Discussion forum - ISD Type40.

  • So scamming the character bazar is okay? in EVE Communication Center

    Hi,

sorry if this is kinda a whiney thread but, here we go.

I was buying a character on the bazar 3 days ago. The seller agreed to my offer and I sent him the ISK. He then stated that he received the ISK and wants to transfer the character but he is getting an error while doing so. HE directly opened a petition about it and we are still waiting for the answer. I mean okay, it is just 3 days, but 3 days where I don't have any ISK left (I sent it to buy character) not do I have a character to play with. Any hints on the usual response time on such topics? =/

    Regards

My advice to you would be to open a petition of your own on the matter. Make sure to include as much detail as you can about the purchase and a GM will look in to it for you. I hope it goes well :)
