Do you think this just due to tracking?

Better tracking than pally by far, better application vs cruiser than golem, better range than kronos.
It just had the fastest times for me at 6:30 mins or under and could comfortable track cruisers and apply at 50km+ with high paper dps also

I guess. never have issues hitting cruisers in my pally tbh *shrug*

    Paladin. Not particularly close.

  • Dscan to check for activity in EVE Gameplay Center

after you finish the initial check for towers and what not, you only need ships and probes.

Sorry, I've read this thread, but I'm still not understanding what happens when a new static spawns (let's say, right after a roll) and you DON'T warp to it. Can someone elaborate?

nothing no anom/sig actually spawns until it is first warped to

So you effectively wall off a hole (with the exception of inbound K162s) if you roll out the statics and never jump to them?
And if the answer to that question is yes, just to be super clear: Does anything happen if you scan them down, but don't jump to them? Like, does the act of scanning a hole do anything?

  • K162, Worth Checking? in EVE Gameplay Center

You don't need to jump through to tell if it's a C1 or C2 Wh, just use the info and a visual check to see where it goes.

    See here for details:
    https://tripwire.torpedodelivery.com/wiki/whvisual/

    tl;dr version:
    - C1 will say that it only allows medium ships to jump in show info.
    - C2 will say 'leads to unknown space' and will not look whitish, allows large jumps.

PS: the spawning mechanics are very well documented in various dev blogs and release notes, the only confusion comes from people who are too lazy to look it up.

  • Regarding scanning in EVE Gameplay Center

    what are your skills?
i have not scanned in a T1 frig for a long time but I find it hard to believe it would have issues with HS sites, that's kinda what it's for.

If you get astrometrics to 4 and the support stills to 3, you can scan out any sig in a WH so certainly should be able to in HS.
back in the day i'd ask if it was a technique issue but really if you just put the default pinpoint formation on a sig and keep reducing the size and recentering, you're good to go.

As for the fit, I'd recommend using the gravity cap rigs for probe strength and get a pinpointing module in the mids.

  • Blitzing C3 Combat Sites (Fine tuning) in EVE Gameplay Center

2x marauder will certainly be faster, 1x marauder probably not for a C3.
Dread for C3s is a silly idea.

As a general rule, drones/missiles are never gonna be as efficient at PVE with the same DPS output as turrets due to application lag, often there's a pretty significant difference.

If you're set on snakes, certainly zero point tinker tanking them since the C3 DPS output of sites is very low and a snake can local tank it just fine so just gank fit them.

I have no idea what your budget is (given your quoted value, I'm assuming a T2 fit which is certainly far from optimal on a snake) but it's not too hard to get another 300 odd DPS out of a snake. Something like this might be your best bet:

Will tank any C3 anom solo and 2 should clear the data/relic sites easy too.
Gets 1380odd DPS (1500 with fury), 1630 with RHM launchers instead, more with implants which you may well want to use.

  • How about killing structures in wh space..? in EVE Gameplay Center

Evicting people now is just as stupid as it ever was. Actually, probably more stupid now since there are less larger groups.

  • Forming the Strategic Cruiser Focus Group in EVE Technology and Research Center

Would like to be considered for this.

T3s, of all flavours, have been my go to ship of choice for any and all roles since late 2009 when I started flying T3s in PVP and PVE fleets in C6 wormholes with fits that are still the basis for many wormhole fleets today (a clear indicator that T3s have never been all that 'strategic', something that should change).
Be it melting face with a Proteus, popping Falcons with arty Lokis, kiting half a fleet in a Tengu or neuting dreads in a Legion, I've been there and done that.

T3s have been the bread and butter fleet comp for most of the corps in my EVE history and I have extensive experience flying in, with and against all 4 T3s, from 1v1 to large scale wormhole fights, with support and without, both from an FC and fleet member position.
I have also flown them in kspace in small gangs and have used them for PVE, both solo and fleet, in wspace and out.

I also have experience flying a variety of T2 cruisers in similar roles and looked into the T3 vs. HACs comparison fairly in depth when HACs were rebalanced some time ago.
I spend a lot of my time in a Stratios these days which has unfortunately made covert T3s obsolete, a fact I hope the upcoming changes address.

I'd have thought that recent events have shown you that evictions can and do indeed create GFs. After all, eviction isn't death; anyone with a pair will just redeploy in another system. Content was created. GFs were had.

you know this isnt true. sure, the corp may return but every eviction leaves some pilots behind, not to mention the obvious down time of finding and moving into a new system.

WH evictions are only OK if you plan to actually live in the system you're evicting. And no, I don't care what class corp is attacking which, it makes no difference.

It is demonstrably true. The biggest fleet fights I've witnessed in W-Space have been centered around evictions. I love the small gang stuff as much as the next guy but I'm not turning down one massive content generator at the expense of a minor one.

yeah, congrats, you get one large fight versus a fight every time you roll into that group. if you think that's a good trade then by all means, knock yourself out...
frankly I can't fathom why you would choose to voluntarily kill off (even if just temporarily) a source of content for a once off content hit. do you really thing the population of wspace is so saturated that this doesn't make an impact? cos youre wrong if you do.

PS: if you want big fights for the sake of big fights, why are you in wormholes? that kind of content is FAR easier to get in nullsec if that's all youre after.
yeah, ive been part of big fights in wspace too but I can hands down tell you that none of the biggest fights ive been in crack my top 100 favourite fights in wspace, that really isnt what's great about WH pvp.
as for 'fun evictions'? i can think of one, and it was a small fight in a C2 for a WH we intended to move into.

  • Soloing C3/C4 sites in a Golem (Fit Help) in EVE Gameplay Center

    Dalron wrote:
568mil each and doing a tad under 800 dps. Transmitting to each other your + 43gj/sec so any C3/C4 sites you will be stable even being neuted and 1400 dps omni tank is easily enough to clear everything.

Costs half the Golem for a total of 1600 dps (Applies very well to the frigates/cruisers etc as well).

these fits clearly do work but I'd be pretty interested in actually seeing how 2 of these compare to a marauder in terms of site times tbh.
sure, the paper DPS is a bit higher but there's travel time on drones, not to mention sleeper agro, along with inherant efficiency loss due to multiboxing and the marauder doesn't have to kill the frigs due to smartbombs so i think it's actually a lot closer than you'd think.

I can't say ive run any kinds of tests (and likely wont since im never gonna fly rattlesnakes) but my guess would be these run sites with remote rep faster than any marauder but that they fall behind, maybe just on par, a well fit and skilled marauder for C3s and non RR C4s.

honestly it probably depends on which marauder too i guess. the cruise golem tops out at around 1.1k DPS with significant DPS loss against cruisers so it may not match them but something like a 1400dps gank fit Paladin? I'd give them a run for their money in one of those.

PS: Marauders are also roughly infinitely more fun :)
