  • [Kronos] Hull Hitpoint Rigs in EVE Technology and Research Center

I don't play a lot of eve online, so feel free to correct me:

    Shield extenders increase sig
    Shield rigs increase sig

Armour plates increase mass/make you slow as balls
Armour rigs increase mass/make you slow as balls

    Hull bulkhead things reduce cargo
New hull rigs increase mass/make you slow as balls

(also noting that cargo expanders reduce hull HP - in what is supposed to be a symmetrical relationship)

My point being that copying the drawback from armour rigs makes no sense at all in the context of other similar modules.

The trick is to be one of the scanners providing targets, or to double wrap your contract so we think there might be something valuable in there.

    Hope this helps.

  • Dev Blog: Client modification, the EULA and you in EVE Information Center

I can use autohotkey to automate certain timing for smartbombing battleships. This maximises the number of smartbomb cycles I can get off whilst neuted.

Is this against the EULA? I can do a pretty good approximation of this manually, but it is more open to error and missing the crucial third cycle.

  • Dev blog: Updates to Team Security and the ongoing war on botting in EVE Information Center

I like the increased level of communication on the topic, and the transition towards Zero Tolerance has been pretty well managed. The reality is that along with RMTers and large scale botting networks there were a metric ton of casuals - and I reckon you did a really good job of "converting" them into law abiding citizens

would have to resub to sell, so waiting for a firm offer before burning a plex. Obviously there will be a new post with that character when the time comes to actually transfer.

  • Miner Bumping: Discussion & Questions Thread in EVE Gameplay Center

In terms of bumping miners the only aspect that I could remotely want to change is to grant the victim some means of recourse against a bumper in an NPC corp. War dec's can be used against bumpers in player corps either directly by the victim or via mercs.

The issue here is that NPC corps are broken, not that bumping needs more restrictions. I'd dearly love to see everyone booted out of the risk free NPC corp after 3 months, and from then on restricted to a faction warfare NPC corp. (Or some other iteration to stop people risk free NPC alt'ing)

That is not at all true. The issue is that when someone has downloaded a database of salted and hashed passwords there are no limits to the brute force attacks they can use to get the original password - they can test hundreds of thousands of combinations a minute with a decent computer set up.

Though, for more reasonable (and less trollish) figures, something like this looks reasonable:

    • Same region - 48 hours
    • Other region - +24 hours per regional jump needed to get there.

Those are more the sorts of numbers I envision. Though why in blocks of 24 instead of a pure equation based on distance?

People are bad at math. No need to overcomplicate it for everyone.

What crap, everyone knows the game needs more things to make spredsheets for... :)

Clone timer should be related to the distance between locations. Empire to null? 48 hours. Out of learning implans to clone i same station? 1 hour or less. Exponential, to keep the functionality of cheaper clones for pvp but reduce the ability to hop around the map at will.

    Exponential sounds great to me!

    In Station - 24 hours
    Next System - 576 hours
    Next Region - 191102976 hours.

I support this change as it effectively removes jump clones from the game, please CCP make the sandbox vast again.

    I support this.

Jump clones help negate the fact that learning implants disproportionately harm nullsec players. Empire dwellers live with almost no risk of bein podded, and as such get to train much faster nd cheaper. Nullsec needs reward to balance risk, and training times are one area where there is nothing given

I spend most my time in +4s or 5s and rarely play with characters who are training. Remove learning implants and I will support the removal of jumpclones

Depends on your choice of coefficient and power - but 72 or even 96 hour timers after long jumps would seem reasonable

And you'll find people using dedicated pvp clones with useful implants for your podmails - and fewer people not playin the game because it is counter to long term goals to jump. When the rational decision is not to play, something is wrong with the game

  • GSF fighting against **** posting, tell me it isn't so in EVE Communication Center

The problem being addressed is unfunny **** being perpetually recycled by unfunny nerds.

There is no attempt to end shitting up local, comms or fleet chat, just a general move away from the (apparent) decline in originality and actual humour.

As an alliance we will ban anyone who posts 4chan chit on our forums, but not in fleet chat. Inability to parse your posts and thinking m8 is a reasonable substitute for 'mate' are other capital offences. This is simply the application of basic forum rules to the in game communal areas.

Oh, and stopping the hackneyed and pathetic OMG 'girl on the internet' ****, because it is just weak
