  • Trinkets Friendly Wormhole Advice Column in EVE Gameplay Center

    Dear Trinkets.

I humbly request the service oh dear friend of trinkets, former alliance mate and comrade in arms in the holy service of bob, to formally instruct a loyal servant of bob as he shakes loose his celestial bonds and floats down to the terrestrial plane. What must a devoted acolyte of bob do as he breaks away from his ethereal form and transmutes into his mundane corporeal existence.

Shall he still preach the gospel of bob to the unwashed masses or should he work quietly to further bobs message. Or is the tranmutation a sin in the eyes of bob. Oh dear friend of trinkets. One who has made this transformation before how shall I proceed. I humbly await your inspired and wise response.

As opposed to a low paying part time job and people who did not give 2 ***** whether I woke up the next morning, I would say it is a MASSIVE improvement.

It is with heavy heart but strong resolution that I must bid farewell spacebros and fellow acolytes of bob. For the past few months I have been slammed in the back and face with life ranging from health to money issues. Through it all I tried to keep up with eve, tried to stay connected, but I have realized that I can no longer do it.

I am finally in a position in my life where I am stable with a good job and people who care about me. And I hate to say it, but I can no afford any distractions that could lead me away from stability and prosperity. Eve online is a huge time sink especially for a wormholer. Each and every day I have had to make the choice between gaming, and work. Each and every day I have sacrificed more of my work for gaming. I realized that I can not do this again. I finally have a good, stable job that I can count on being there tomorrow. One that will not **** me around and cut my benefits suddenly or push me out of the door for no reason. I have to make this the primary focus of my life. In other words, it is time for me to grow up and put my big boy pants on.

Don't get me wrong, eve online has been a wild ride since late 2009 and has kept me entertained for many many years. I watched entire empires rise and fall from behind the curtain of wormholes. The original NC, Test, white noise, IT Alliance, and many more. All the while behind the curtain killing more ships in the name of bob than many reading this can claim. I flew a moros in the defense of Rage against Noho, W-Space, and Aharm. I helped defend the homes and tore down the homes of several other entities. Sometimes we were successful, sometimes not. Either way I had fun doing it.

But all of that must unfortunately come to an end. After many weeks of thought and deliberation I have finally decided to quit the game I love in favor of the betterment of my life. I have enjoyed each and every moment I have spent with you people, the denizens of wormhole space and I look forward to reading about your exploits in the future. I wish you all good health and happy hunting. Thank you for 5 great years of entertainment, adrenaline, and joy. Wormhole nation, you people are the best.

    Fly Dangerously
    My bob be with you.

    Good afternoon everyone.

We are indeed working on some changes to how ships spawn when they jump through wormholes. This is one part of a series of wormhole iterations we are working on and that we will be publishing a dev blog on soon. We will be looking for player feedback at that time.
The version of the code that is on SISI is absolutely not the final version, and is not running final numbers (the ranges we are working with internally are quite a bit closer than what is on this build of SISI).

We'll be posting a dev blog with the whole collection of proposed changes next week and we will be very interested in taking your feedback then. In the meantime I advise you all to not panic. Nobody is out to get you.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

You have awoken me from my slumber. With this change, you have single handedly killed c5 and c6 wormhole corps. We require the ability to effectively roll the static connection quickly and easily. You have just DESTROYED that ability. Spawning outside of jump range is a very VERY bad idea for several reasons. But all I have to do is provide one.

On December 16, 2013 a wormhole alliance by the name of Disavowed decided to get some payback and invaded our bros in lead farmers. Hard knocks took up the call and over the course of 3 hours we rolled 32 static wormhole until we found the correct hole. Leading to one of the largest fights wormhole space has EVER seen.

This would not have been possible if we were not able to roll our static connection, literally, every 5 minutes. This kind of change destroys all kinds of quick response in wormhole space.

Why not drop the ishtar's drone bandwidth to 100mbit/sec . Nothing else would need to be changed then :P

Other than gimping the DPS down quite a bit. All level 5 with 2 dda do 621 with garde 2. You take away 1 garde and it does 497. Thats 124 dps taken away. A fleet of 30 ishtars lose 3720 dps. This is a significant hit.

This also is a soft nerf to the ishtar making the ship only slightly less desirable while at the same time removing the ability for smaller numbers of ishtars to accomplish what they were once used to. Still a powerful ship, just not as powerful.

  • [Hyperion] Heavy Assault Cruiser tweaks in EVE Technology and Research Center

I have two ideas for the ishtar.

    1. Decrease the bandwidth from 125 to 100. This way it can only deploy 4 sentries or heavies. (apply this change to vexor and vexor navy as well.)

    2. Remove two mid slots and give it two low slots.

The first is simply a way to nerf the dps it can throw it to make the ship less desirable. The second would turn the ship into an armor tanker. Slower moving and more easily killable as it cant outrun most cruisers on field.

Have you not played space engineers? Get a ship point it at his exact location get it to full speed then turn everything but the beacon off. It will reach him in no time.

(Or you will die unexpectedly and spawn 700k out from your home base and the lag is so horrible that there is no possible way to get back to your home base.)
