  • [Aegis] More balance! - Ishtars, DDAs and the Tempest in EVE Technology and Research Center

I was initially sad about this change since I use my Ishtar exclusively for missions and not PVP. It's just a good way to spend a couple hours ever few weeks waiting for CCP to fix null sec.

I armour infinite armour tank my Ishtar and use mids for nav computer, drone tracking, cap recharger and afterburner. Now that I'm losing a mid-slot I can ditch the remote armour repairer I used to repair my drones in-space and a cap recharger. I'm still easily, laughably cap stable and repairing 574 hp/9 sec. I get a free low slot which I can put a Drone Damge Amplifier II in which will boost my drone's damage. Hopefully it will help mitigate my ship moving slower.

  • Latest CSM notes : Rumours of attribute points/implants being removed. in EVE Communication Center

i'd have a look at what level implants the largest proportion of characters have equipped. if, for example, a huge number of characters have +3 implants, i think that'd indicate that the price:benefit ratio made these a must-fit, and that the price:benefit of +4s was at a nicer spot in comparison

since i don't like must-fits, i'd take action to remove the 'must' bit. i'd then make +4s into +1s, leave them where they are in terms of rarity, sit back and see what happens

That's the point, what is the reality of the situation?

I will bet a large number of the placard-waving "implants must go" crowd inserted +5s in their first week, and have never let go (a lass above literally said that was the case for her), but how many people truly do this? How many people have ever injected a +5? Bear in mind the Cybernetics requirement might mean some characters physically can't (in fact, thats an interesting and easily figured stat for CCP, what % of characters has Cybernetics 5?) And how long do the players who have a +5 clone actually spend in it? Ask the same for +4's, even +3's (given the free Genvolutions that got handed out, this will likely be a high %, but even then, how many owners spend what % of time wearing them). In fact, how many characters have never worn an implant outside the occasional +1s and +2s that came from a mission reward? (or not even that much, again an easy stat to discover, what percentage of characters do not even have Cybernetics injected at all?)

My character is coming up on nine years old. I've had +5 implants in my head literally for years. I typically use learning implants no matter where I am in the universe. Ever since flying in AT IX I've had the same set of 5% implants alongside the +5 implants. When I JC to null I am in a lower set of learning implants, whatever is available on market, usually. I log out in +5 implants and conduct most of my activities in +5 implants as well.

  • What will you fill your skill queue with? in EVE Gameplay Center

Finishing out cloning facilities V, getting all the subsystem skills to V, and a few scanning-related skills. I want to finish out int/mem skills before closing out Drones.

There's only 192 days in my queue since the subsystems are all rank 1. There's something like 39 skills after that to finish int/mem skills.

  • Dev Blog - A new look for EVE’s UI – feedback needed! in EVE Information Center

Dang. New icons to learn. After eight years it'll be tough. :(

Have these changes been tested on older graphics cards? Fore example a 330M GT? Will these new changes slow down old systems?

EVE Probe under Linux? Is that helpful? Makes sense? You know, it might even help CCP with that game company and its vaporized water operating system...

EVE Probe should run fine under Wine, just like the EVE client. Anything other than that - we'll have to see what we can cook up in our spare time...

so please disconnect the scrapmetal skill from the other dependencies. New players should not have to waste SP on ore reprocessing skills to be able rise efficiency of module reprocessing.

I did this many, many years ago to get access to Scrapmetal Processing. What a kick in the teeth.

yeah same here. Its one of the skills i am 100% sure i will never need once the change is made since i simple don't mine. Just fix it for the new players at least

Why not just improve it to at least add something other than a minuscule 5% extra. Or is there any particular reason why CCP has gone for the arbitrary value of 55% as the maximum. Increasing it to at least 60% would give some reason to still have the skill.

The skill training isn't the worst part.

I ground missions for Caldari Navy for weeks to get my standing up so I could refine 100% with Scrapmetal Processing III. Training Refining V and Scrapmetal Processing III is, honestly, a drop in the skill training bucket. This character is nearly eight years old and has trained almost non-stop since perhaps with a week total with nothing going.

CCP is touching a part of the game which is sacred: perfect processing; the culmination of weeks of standings grinding married with weeks of skill training. They're setting the bar ridiculously low so just what you've done in your post will happen: pleading to let us have something to show for our time and effort, even if it isn't anywhere close to reflecting the actual time and effort put into the achievement. If CCP is bent on nerfing Scrapmetal Processing we're better off with a more realistic plea: 95%, 97.5%.

Just like every other nerf in the game the playerbase will move on and adapt or quit for new players who don't know better.

    Hi,

I wrote Reve (at https://github.com/lisa/reve/ ). The github source is up to date more or less, I just need to roll a new gem for it.

The project is not really maintained by me anymore insofar as I'm not actively writing code for it. However, if you feel inclined to add to the project please send a pull request through Github with relevant tests and I'll merge the source.

  • I want your little things! in EVE Communication Center

From the fleet watch list I want to be able to right click on someone and select LOOK AT so I can see where they are in space. Or, even better, have your watchlist show distance from you. As a logistics pilot it would be great to know when my watchlist people are too far so I can warn them.

Ninja edit: Another thing, please for all that is sacred let us set standings towards ourself! I can't tell you how many times I scan through local and see a "neutral" that is me. Why is my self-esteem so slow that I am neutral towards myself? I should have amazing standings towards myself and show up blue.

  • New Dev Blog: Player-owned Customs Office in EVE Information Center

No sir, I don't like it.

Although let's clear a few of my misgivings up:

    1. If there is no POCO will we be able to do imports and exports?
    2. Will I be able to anchor these things in enemy space to impede their PI?
    3. What does it mean to have an anchored POCO with a tax rate of 100% rate? How about 0%?
    4. Who collects the taxes?
    5. Coke Zero or Diet Coke?
    6. How many hitpoints and what resists on the POCO?
    7. Can I now set up planets in systems in which my alliance do not hold sov? (Ninja-PI?) Can my alliance stop enemies from setting up planets in our space?
    8. What is the equivalent tax rate of the existing customs offices?

  • New dev blog: Capital ship balancing in EVE Information Center

I have to echo the thoughts to add fighter and fighter bomber signature resolution as a penalty to the appropriate ships. It seems to impose an unnecessary penalty to carriers.
