  • The Morning I anti-ganked in EVE Gameplay Center

Query: If the purpose of CODE is to force you to stop generating ISK in highsec and instead engage in PVP, do you "win" by stopping a freighter gank? Isn't real victory preventing them from interfering with your preferred gameplay?

  • Wanna shoot CODE.? in EVE Gameplay Center

meh, Code is pretty ineffective in actually interfering with continuous ISK generation in highsec...no real need to engage them, just drop corp/play on alts for a week.

  • Also on the chopping block, wardecs in EVE Gameplay Center

glad to see CCP finally getting serious about making highsec a decent place to operate...still much more to do

  • Next on the chopping block, bumping? in EVE Gameplay Center

simple solution - anyone attacked in highsec, causing the attackers to get GCC gets a 60 second free warp away period once concord shows, unaffected by bumping. Consider it a police escort.

    good

  • It must be tough for everyone out there with this crisis in EVE Gameplay Center

same as always...wardeccers want turkey shoots against new players...rolling corp is the way to go

The only complaint I have about people rolling corps is when they do it before a war actually becomes live. Having never actually been able to shoot those people I feel like I should get the cost of declaring war refunded. In all other instances I couldn't care less.

Just be more careful about who you dec, it's meant to be a scalpel, not an axe.

Being a "PvE player" in EVE isn't a thing that exists right now. I'm not sure you know what game you're playing.

I heard it's called Eve. Highsec has an active and infallible police force enabling players to pursue PvE activities.

Veers, you know there aren't any griefers in EVE.... they're too busy on public minecraft servers to have anything to do with internet spaceships.

So, hypothetically speaking. If I were to form a 1 man corp and wardec you Veers, would you reform and dodge the dec... or would you come out and play with me? It wouldn't be unfair. I'm pretty bad at pvp and you've got some nullsec green on your killboard. I'd pretty much be at a disadvantage.

The best advice is to leave highsec. Wardecs don't matter then.

LOL - talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Just relentlessly drop and reform corp, and it will be the griefers who are the ones fleeing to nullsec.

Blueballing individual fights you can't win makes sense. Blueballing an entire war by nor undocking at all on the assumption that it will result in a shorter war is questionable at best.

For one its not fun or interesting for you, secondly there's also no guarantee that corp members will all do it and not decide to go mining by themselves and die anyway, thirdly it might not even work, god knows I've kept corps that refuse to undock decced for multiple weeks just to see how long it takes for them to start losing members.

Blueballing should really be used as a part of a larger guerilla strategy for maximum fun and effectiveness.

Considering the endless whining from the "elite pvp" players about the folks who just drop corp or go dock up and play on alts, it seems pretty darn effective.

It's trivial, my dear Watson. Evading wardeccs is a way to achieve victory while outgunned, outnumbered, and outskilled. It truly is Elite PvP at its finest.

    So, you're defending it?

    Craven.

    Defending it? Not at all.

    I'm ADVOCATING it.

    Roll

So, I log back in after a week or so of training another character and I find an evemail telling corp members to hide in station or spend time away from EvE because of an active wardec.

I don't quite understand why someone would hide for over a week from another corp/alliance. I'm frustrated by this. I've expressed displeasure with the idea of hiding and it was met with a brick wall. I don't want to quit the corp because the guys are mostly cool but damn.

So, Bad Neighbors, I'll do my best to undock tonight when I get home from work for some gudfights even if no one else will.

...there's even a bulletin stating "DO NOT LOSE A SHIP".

    Screw you, this is EvE.

  • Siegfried Cohenberg's Freighter Ganking Service in EVE Gameplay Center

No matter how many freighters you gank, highsec remains much the same as it always has. People will not be forced to change their playstyle in a video game through intimidation and threats...the more code tries to tighten its grip, the more star systems slip through its fingers.

Yeah, um. That's not gonna happen.

Wardec fees are one of those things that makes ISK actually go away.
Those merc alliances that literally make their living off of wars oftentimes dump billions of ISK into concord's pocket in a single week. There has to be some, even though paltry, counter to ISK being endlessly printed from npc bounties and whatnot.

The sploded ships that result from wardecs also increase demand for more ships and modules.
Wardecs may need work, but taking them away completely would not be good for the game.

I fail to see why isk going away is a good thing so long as rampant mining is swamping isk production and leading to widespread deflation.
