  • Minmatar win EVE in EVE Gameplay Center

    +1 fellas. Well done.

  • FW Improvements List in EVE Technology and Research Center

Making a list for CCP. Please consider these suggestions and keep them in your back pocket for when you get around to FW next year.

    1. Militia filter for contracts/lists/etc.

    2. Purple should mean purple. Either
o Four way declaration of war for all militias, OR
o Standings hit for allied militia attacking each other.

    3. Lower the number of plexes needed to take a system:
150+ plex advantage is too much. The entire reason so much effort is needed to take a system was because of the station lockouts requirement. Citadels make this requirement obsolete, Also, lowering the amount of effort needed to take a system will mean more people will run offensives on systems - which then means more content for everybody.

Making the requirement "citadel and station lockout" would have worked before citadels were introduced, but now it's unworkable since a massive amount of work by all sides has gone into installing citadels all across the warzone.

    4. Remove FW standings hits in null (just like all other standings hits are removed).

    5. Militia new-bro default overview setting.

  • Corp FW Question in EVE Gameplay Center

Only if you're moving from some other militia and into Gallente.

Otherwise it's almost impossible to do.

To me the overall problem is the 'value system' associated with FW, especially from the POV of a pirate or other pvp-er in lowsec.

For example if we see an alpha clone defensive plexing in an empty fit venture (except for even more warp core stabs to be sure), they can go on doing this at no cost and very little risk.

And if someone does manage to catch them and kill them, they get absolutely JACK for it.

Ofc if they are offensive plexing and have to kill rats a warp core stab is not helpful.

Come to think of it i think the problem IS defensive plexing...all you do is orbit the button. If there was a lesser rat to kill with help from freindly rats then you are actively 'defending' instead of orbiting a button.

Also if there were a scoopable commodity, even if it is a bounty tag the can be sold for LP...a tangible thing to get, loot, or scoop.

Yes this would increase the FW risk but it would also increase the value and price of things you can acquire from doing FW, and inevitably the combat skills of the pilots doing it (no more empty ventures lol).

If you really want to stop the afk-plexer, then make both sides kill a rat and have the rat(s) not attack either side so that all plexers must peform an active action to kill them. Otherwise afk tristans rule the day.

  • Am I chopped liver? in EVE Gameplay Center

FW missions involve making alot of jumps. You pick up a mission in Gallente space and then run it in Caldari space. Better to use ships that can reasonably avoid enemies (pirates and Caldari alike) like Hecates and Assault Frigs, and even properly tanked Comets for FW L3.

For FW L4, you'll need to step up the ship up a couple levels to complete the missions.

  • Corporate/Fleet Duel Option in EVE Technology and Research Center

sheesh, I don't know what is wrong with the people in this thread. I think if two fleet commanders want to honour fight, then this suggestion would be a convenient method to do that.

Let me spell it out to you:

    1) You join mining fleet (or incursion fleet, or whatever fleet)
    2) Fleet commander accepts duel from his friend
    3) You die to this friend without CONCORD getting involved

While this may make things more interesting, I don't think giving the fleet commander the ability to turn off CONCORD protection for you is a very good idea and you probably shouldn't think so either.

Yeah that seems a bit harsh. Didn't think about this aspect of it.

  • Corporate/Fleet Duel Option in EVE Technology and Research Center

I guess by your standards, player duels should be eliminated as well. (?)

  • Corporate/Fleet Duel Option in EVE Technology and Research Center

There should be one. Just like when two individuals want to duke it out in an honor brawl, it would be really cool if director's from two different corporations could accept a duel for each corporation.

Ditto "Fleet Duel" option where the owners of each fleet could duel each other.

(War decs are not impromptu enough)

  • FW l4 missions lp payout differences. in EVE Gameplay Center

FW mission payouts are based on sec status of system you received the mission, the mission, AND current FW Tier level when you turn them in.

I think they are dynamic too - changing over time based on something like success rate (?)

Honestly you guys are so adamant that a real time intel tool won't hurt rabbit plexers, when it is obvious to about anyone else, I can't be sure when you are exaggerating or when you are serious.

You say you already know where the farmers are. But again people are not just looking for farmers. If you already know where everyone is running plexes then tell me how many people are running plexes right now in every system within 2 jumps of frerstorn.

Who is everybody else? The people who will commit to chasing them? (nobody so far)

Your scoreboard is broken. You believe the number of captured systems over the entire theater equates to "winning."

It's like Hannibal capturing vast swaths of land but not Rome itself.

It's like your team loses in basketball and you say the scoreboard is broken because every slam dunk should count for 10 points.

CCP does not give certain systems more importance in their tier system. You are just imagining there is a rome but in the game all systems contribute equally to tiers. Your scoreboard is imaginary.

Now maybe you are suggesting CCP should change the way the scoring works. But what would happen? Everyone would blob the "Rome" system and the game would become even more null sec lite than it already is. The rest of the warzone would become even more barren.

Nope. It's a sandbox game. While you go on endlessley about Tier levels and keeping score, the rest of us choose to understand the fundamental truth of this sandbox game: Each of us chooses our own victory conditions.

That old lady in the 13th Warrior go it right: "Wars are won in the will."

Yes and we can see how well that has been working out. Go ahead and look at the top vp gainers. Its been almost a decade. CCP should not blame the players. The players need better tools.

There's not enough pvp in FW low sec - especially compared to other areas of the game?

Doesn't there have to be some kind of way to roll back the contention level of a system.

If the opposition offensive plexes a system my militia is defending by 10%... how do I get that back to where it was? Or can the defenders in a system only possibly hold the level where it is and never reverse it (until it flips)?

Seems like that wouldn't quite work.

You could do something with the "dual timers" approach.
    1. Every plex is an enemy plex (Serpentis rats, for example).
    2. Winner is the side that reaches a time value first.
    3. The solar system will yield control to whichever faction does the best job of stopping the pirates in system (the ones who close the most plexes). (Same sov type system as now).
    4. A system falls into a "lawless" state if not enough plexes are captured by either side over the course of a week. (Optional)

Then you'd have warp-core stabbed/afk offensive plexers going around capturing plexes in backwater systems instead of guys in unfit frigs.

In reality, players will use the minimum amount of ship required to capture plexes, and they'll use alts in locations where it's boring (there's no chance of pvp).

You can't have a pvp element if one side decides to not show up. Then what?

You are assuming something that i have never suggested.

I dont have the answers, my theorycrafting skill is too low to solve all the problems in fw. I can only point out the broken parts and ask for improvements, just like you.

Just pointing out the fundamental flaw of "pvp-only" solutions for FW, in fact the entire pvp aspect of Eve Online.

There is no requirement either side shows up, and when they don't the game is really boring.

It never hurts to let them know where they should show up. Just saying.

I know you think no one wants to show up and defend plexes throughout the warzone but I can tell you there are allot of players who would. Its just not feasible to ask them to randomly wander around looking for them.
Please stop. Your filter tells everybody where people who won't engage are located. Big freaking deal. You're not going to get fights out of them.

And please, somebody on these forums, commit to chasing rabbit plexers so that Cearain can be proven right that at least ONE player will chase rabbits in the warzone.

We all know where to go to get fights. And we don't need a filter to do it.

    elitatwo wrote:
You can use your fitting browser for that. It should be in your neocom by default now. The fitting browser even orders your fits by shipclass like "Assault Ships", "Battleships", and so on in alphabetic order.

You can collapse the classes you don't need at the moment.

Thanks, didn't see the search window at the top of the tool. That should be good enough for now.

  • CCPlease, Make the Corax Great...for once. in EVE Technology and Research Center

o Get a group of Coraxes together and you can alpha small ships off the field all the way out to 94km (or more).
o Much bigger tank than Talwar, so in a pure EHP*DPS race the Corax is going to win.
o Range of a Cormorant, bigger tank (at cost of missile flight time)
o Alpha levels are not dependent on launcher type, so you can put together a really cheap Corax and kill stuff way above it's cost.

When the great "Talwar proliferation" happened in FW low sec a few years ago, we switched to Coraxes and alpha'd them off the field at a faster rate, and at longer range than they could do to us.

  • Fitting Window Ship Filter in EVE Technology and Research Center

Have an option where the only ship available for fitting is the ship I'm currently in. (It's a PITA to manually scroll down the list to find my ship.)
