  • Learning ESI and More in EVE Technology and Research Center

BTW I brought up VBA just because it's free and it's in Excel. It's basically a slim version of VB6 and it sucks, but it's better than nothing if you don't know how to do anything else. You can hack quite a bit in VBA and get stuff to work.

I use VB.Net because I'm not a programmer anymore and I don't need/want to learn a new language that I'll never use anyway. Plus I can do almost everything in VB.Net that you could do in C#. The differences are very minor now and it makes VB a great hobby language.

That said, I still haven't tried to use ESI in IPH. I don't know if I will either Sad

In my current version, corp hangar assets are working now - "items in production" and "items in stock" columns in manufacturing screen are still not shown at all tho ;(

Did you set your asset location on the manufacturing tab? All the asset list locations and settings are unique to the form they appear on. If you set it on Shopping list, that doesn't transfer to the manufacturing tab.

When calculating several types of T2 ammo (maybe all) the calculation seems to fall off a cliff when it requires more than 1 BPC.

For example based on the raw material prices I've input for Nova Rage XL Torpedoes:

    1 Run (seems correct):
    http://imgur.com/a/ctPl7

    11 Runs (seems correct):
    http://imgur.com/a/5m26h

    12 Runs (wayyyyy off)
    http://imgur.com/a/zJlZe

Also, when i add some number of runs requiring 1 BPC to the shopping list, say 10 runs of the torpedo above, it says i need around 45.5k T1 torpedoes as materials. But when i increase the T2 quantity to 20 runs, the T1 requirement decreases to 911 T1 torpedoes.

The numbers should be fixed now. I'll double check the shopping list.

I have a feature request. Maybe its already there and if it is I just cannot figure out how to do it.

When you're looking at building an item, is there any way that you can pick and choose which item you would like to build for the components?

I know there is a "build/buy" feature. But say you don't want to build ALL of the ones it highlights for you. Maybe I only want to build 1 or so. It'd be awesome if we could ignore some of them but keep others. Mostly just for ease of buying stuff off the shopping list.

I have this on my list but I may not get to it. Thanks for the input.

    Build 3.3.6278.40758

    • Updated to YC 119.2 Database and Images
    • Changed ‘Structure Module’ Category for Citadel Rigs to ‘Structure Rigs’ and updated all blueprint type selection to match new naming.
    • Assets will now correctly show corp hangers
    • The Mining Foreman Link II’s required skills have been updated to require Mining Director 1 instead of 5
    • CItadel name look up should no longer crash the program in random cases.

    Shopping List Updates

    • Fixed issue where updating quantity in the Items to Build list was not correctly updating the quantities in the Build and Buy lists
    • Fixed an issue where deleting the items from the Items to Build List would delete all materials for like components (e.g., all plasma thrusters for multiple propulsion units)
    • R.A.Ms should now update correctly when either building or buying in the shopping list
    • Fixed an issue where invention and copy materials were not properly updating after an update or deletion to the Items to Build.
    • Materials in the buy list should now correctly update when adjusting or deleting items in the Items to Build or Components to Build lists.
    • Adjusting materials with odd numbers of runs will no longer round up material amounts in the Components to Build or Items to Buy lists.

Testing on Windows 10 host and a MSSQL Server running in a Virtual Machine (Virtual Box, SLES 12, vNext CTP 1.3) I noticed that the app was defaulting to HOSTNAME/Guest for login even though I specified the USERNAME and PASSWORD to use. Does the app support SQL Server Authentication or does it stick with Windows Authentication? As a work around I created the user it was trying to use in SQL Server and gave that user full rights for the import. So far so good, I will just have to remove those rights when the import is done.

Ahh yeah, it does. If you can give me some instances on how you use it I'll try and set up some test cases. I just have the express version installed on my local computer so I'm not sure of all the options.

Edit: I looked back at the code and I'm not sure why it would default to Guest. Here is the code with my connection strings:

' Log in with user name and pass
    Conn = New SqlConnection(String.Format("Server={0};User Id={1};Password={2};Trusted_Connection=True; Initial Catalog=master; Integrated Security=True;Connection Timeout=30;", InstanceName, UserName, Password))

' Use windows default connection (windows authentication)
    Conn = New SqlConnection(String.Format("Server={0};Trusted_Connection=True; Initial Catalog=master; Integrated Security=True;Connection Timeout=30;", InstanceName))

Neither uses the environment variable anymore and allows the user to define the full instance path. If you have any input on the above, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

Just a thought: If ever there is a change in the SDE data (meaning, in the case it is not so _static_ ie not SDE but NSSDE ;) ), and we want to reload all the files, does it handle duplicates, or do we need to import them files in another database, then make the switch... (ie: what (is supposed to ) happens if I run the import twice in a row?)

The import will drop the current table and reload it with new data. If you want to just update one table, you can select the one and do it that way.

The SDE is updated every patch, so you'll have to run the update each time they release it to get changes.

I can't be sure, but I think with the recent-ish patch, the Mining Foreman Bursts need Mining Foreman V to use them and not Director. I am able to use the T2 bursts on my Orca with that setup.

Ahh that's correct. You need Mining Director 1. I'll make the change.

On the mining tab, there is the "Mining Foreman Link" checkboxes. When mousing over them, it says to click to cycle through 3 different settings (no booster, T1 and T2). It only appears to be cycling through 2 of these options though, as clicking multiple times only seems to check or uncheck the box. The "Miner Stats" boxes only update with two different values when I click calculate after each click in those checkboxes.

Is my understanding of these boxes correct or am I missing something pretty obvious here?

Much appreciated, I love this tool.

You need to have the skills set to use the tri-check. Mining director 5 will turn on the T2 checks.

Hm, i still got issues with corp assets and the "in production" and "in stock" columns in manufacturing screen (they aren't shown at all).

I already tried the predefined API key for this char as well as full keys for both char and corp for this char (CEO/director role so there should be no permission issues for corp hangars).

The assets screen (settings are "personal+both" and "all items") gets all my personal assets as well as corp deliveries/returns but nothing from the corp hangars where all the build materials and produced items ready for sale are.

Is this due to CCP API issues (got contract and industry job errors in evernus as well as evemon)?

If not, maybe someone can give a walkthrough to get assets working as well as the columns mentioned above? Much apprechiated.

If you send me the apis in evemail or at zifrianeve@gmail.com I can check them.

Thanks for keeping this awesome tool going

Same thing still. And indeed, this is by far one of the most if not thee most useful eve tool I have.

The third party site I use for getting citadel names is down. I'll try to make it less annoying of an error this weekend.

Note, if CCP had something I could use for this I would but they don't provide citadel names currently.

To those that keep asking about Citadels...

I'm slowly working on something as I have time. But take note, I'm not playing eve currently so I'm doing this purely has a hobby thing because I like it. I'll do that as long as it's still fun for me. Add to that I have my first child on the way plus the stressful and increasingly busy nature of my job (I work for the U.S. Federal government on border security, which is in the news lately) limits my free time right now.

I know how many people like this program and I'll continue to support as I can (I plan to play a bit as things settle as well) but it's not a simple fix to switch on to use and I'd like to provide something you will find useful. So please be patient.

    Thanks

Is there a work around for getting asset information into Eve IPH while we wait for CCP to fix the API issue? Specifically, trying to get an automated means for Eve IPH to see what BPs I own and associated materials.

For example, using the XML api I can bring up my asset list, is there a way to input that into Eve IPH?

Also just crashed out as I try working around: http://imgur.com/a/YJYJK

Windows 7, was searching in the Blueprint Manager for 'Balefire' Rocket Launcher Blueprint. Seems any search with a ' in it produces the crash.

    That error is fixed.

There isn't really a work around for getting your bps in the system while the api is down. CCP says they will fix on Tuesday. You can manually update the blueprints though.

    Hi! great app btw...

    However, I'm having 2 issues:

1 - error keeps coming up:

"Unable to updated Character API data. Error Text: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

If one of your API's changed recently, please update it through the Manage Accounts Menu"

Needless to say, I have done this. Also reset all data etc. Added keys again. This has only started happening since the update though I think?

2 - None of my personal or corp blueprints are showing up. However, they are showing in the Assets view and I have ticked the box to include them.

I don't know if this relates to the first error, but I kinda think not as like I said, they ARE showing in the Assets view, but not when I come to do a refresh on the 'Manufactured List' tab, nor when I view Manage Blueprints -> Owned BP's

Many thanks in advance for your help! Kabe

The API error is with the blueprints API. This isn't something I can fix and waiting on CCP response. Hopefully it will just start working again after they correct the issue.

    New issue with industry facilities.

In the assets list, using corp assets, the npc stations have vanished from the list in the system where we own a raitaru.

This is problematic as that raitaru isn't where we keep the assets or do production, (the raitaru is used for reprocessing and research) and I can't compare a buy list against the corp assets in the NPC station office.

The NPC station can be checked from personal assets, but corp assets now only displays the raitaru rather than the expected behavior of displaying both the raitaru and the corp hangars in the npc station.

Can you send me the keys to test in evemail? I don't have assets set up like you to reproduce and it'd be easier for me to troubleshoot. Thanks

    Where talking about API keys:
    - what access mask do i need to get all the corp stuff relevant to IPH?
    - do i need a corp key for EACH char when doing jobs for corp or just the ONE for CEO/Director? (all BP and materials are in corp hangar all jobs are done for corp)

    Another thing:
In 'manufacturing list -> select column' i stumbled upon 'items in production' and 'items in stock'. When i activate them they dont show up in the manufacturing list as a column.
I assume this is meant to get a quick overview on what char/corp still got in stock, what is currently produced and what is missing and needs to be built in order to fill market?
(If it works that way, that would be awesome. Right now i use Evemons "market order expired" feature to track what needs to be rebuilt but thats a big pain in the ass tbh^^)

So how to get this columns working?

(and cheers for working on IPH btw. Its an outstanding tool)

When you add a key (File -> Add Characters), you can click the top link for a pre-defined key that will include the right access mask for all functions.

On the manufacturing list, those columns are populated if you select your asset list and industry jobs in the API key. Both are selected in the pre-defined key selection.

The XML API and CREST are on their way out, with ESI set to replace them and become the only consumer of SSO authorization; the devs have already instituted a single bug reporting system: https://github.com/ccpgames/esi-issues

They haven't though, they are just using a system already there for themselves. I've seen no post or notice that this is the 'official' way to report bugs. Also, the SDE will still exist and there are bound to be other issues than just ESI to deal with.

This is a different error you are seeing now, which deals with the account/character APIs. One I don't have a work around for.
