A full year after I reported them. C’mon CCP. This is a joke. I literally unsubbed because I figured since you didn’t ban them, they were just no-lifing it and I have a life so I might as well stop wasting my time. Now I see I was wrong, these guys were indeed botting, and they will likely continue to bot. Honestly I should get refunded for every bit of that play time. You have GOT to police these guys. They do not care about your game. Their only goal is spite. You’d literally ban non-botting gankers if we did the same thing they do (follow specific players around an harass them) and yet it takes you a full year to ban Anti-gankers who are blatantly botting on the highest traffic gate in the game??? You’ve got to do better. ---

I get the frustration here, and honestly it’s hard to argue with most of it. When someone reports clear, repetitive bot-like behavior and nothing visible happens for a full year, it completely erodes trust in CCP’s enforcement. From a player perspective, it really does feel like a double standard when other playstyles get swift action while blatant, high-visibility botting on a major gate drags on indefinitely. If people are unsubbing because they feel ignored, that’s a serious problem, not “salt.” CCP doesn’t need to disclose investigations, but they do need to show that reports matter and that obvious abuse is being addressed in a timely manner. Right now, the optics are terrible, and “do better” is a fair ask. ---

If it’s a big enough multiboxer, CCP won’t care. I fought and lost a war in nullsec to a guy whose entire alliance is his army of alts and the people that rent from him. We gave CCP videos and matching timestamped combat logs of 50+ Domis all performing the same actions within the same tick. As of a few months ago, when I last ventured into nullsec, he’s still operating his one man alliance and jump freighter fleet. CCP would lose hundreds of Omegas if they banned this guy. ---

Welcome to bot online where the bot are the real owner of eve online, reporting them is utter useless and calling them bots breaking the EULA for offensive language and may result in you, an actual human, being ban by a mass report from bots yes, it did happen to me a few times ---

Thanks for your response Misty. It’s definitely a problem and has gotten SUBSTANTIALLY worse over time as CCPs standards for policing their game have lowered considerably over the years. There’s been a MASSIVE double standard around certain playstyles. CCP might SAY they support piracy and mischief in their game but anyone who’s actually participated in said activities for long enough knows for certain that they absolutely do not and have been slowly removing all of those playstyles for a decade. I played this game for 10+ years and had a whole community of misfits that are still my friends. I met them all on Eve online 15 or so years ago. Out of a community of 30 or so folks 1 singular person still plays Eve online. Every single other player in this community (I still play other games with these folks regularly to this day. Currently we have a Space Engineers server) literally laughs at the idea of playing Eve again. Saying things like “CCP ruined this game” “CCP doesn’t care” “CCP plays favorites” “CCP is just cashing out at this point” “CCP doesn’t ban cheaters” “CCP punishes PvP players” etc etc. More or less all disillusioned by the same few things, CCPs apathy towards cheaters and bots coupled with the aggressive removal of creative game mechanics (Orca swapping, neutral logi, nerfs to ganking) aimed at making the game, in their eyes, far too safe and far less fun. Keep in mind too, this same community used to train new players on how to be actual pirates in game. We had skill training plans to get them in common ships, then carried extras in our orcas that they could use. We trained them how to use scan probes and pay their subs salvaging and stealing. We even had ransom scripts in multiple languages for them to use if they caught a whale. It was honestly glorious gameplay compared to the Eve we have today.
