By standardizing the requirement of light ships, and by allowing people to build from HS minerals only.
THAT is making the industry easier to get into.

> And why would anyone with a valnut of brain start building anything after they done with carrer arcs?

Why not ? Just because YOU don’t want, does not mean that people won’t. Actually that’s why I started industry, in the very beginning.

> [@Cpt\_WhiteEye](#):
>
> As such a simple thing as checking material prices against product prices will disencourage anyone from getting into industry.

But, no. That’s because you assume you can’t do industry without a profit in mind.

That’s wrong. People can get into industry to build stuff, to use them. When I was in Fade I was building my own ships to use them to fight people. Did the same in several places : mine or gun mine, build, fight.

> [@Cpt\_WhiteEye](#):

> Player set prices or not, no one will ever catch up or grab a piece of the market from the 15 years in industry/trading giants. Let alone new players.

Of course. If we are giants, that’s for a reason : we made ourselves giants.
(And I am a very tiny giant, mind you)

Imagine ratting with no bounty or loot to better understand this. Buy a ship / modules / ammo. Kill the rats and get nothing for it expect you have to buy ammo again. How long would you do it before you realised its time to stop? Every player who does industry does it with profit in mind. Obviously you can be a speacial snowflake who want to do industry for the sake of doing industry. But im pretty sure you didnt build ur own ships in Fade bacause you felt like building them. But because theye were not available/were too expensive. And again you can be a special snowflake who choose to spend a lot of extra time build his own stuff but the exception is not the rule. Industry shouldnt be a passion side project in the game, which you support with other activities. There should be a drive for players to get into it.

Do you even read the whole thing or what?

You mean to tell me that the majority of industrial players do it with no profit behind what they do and they happly do it for their own amusement and nothing else. Im not talking about “I built my civilian Mining laser and used in on my Venture” or “I got a vhaalgorn blueprint and made it” Im talking about chosing industry as ur main activity in the game. Or that players who get into industry because they find it amusing while not caring about making profits will stay and develop their industry further while still not making anything. There is no drive to get into industry other than self amusement.

We dont build ships for the sake of building ships. Just as we dont kill rats in anoms for the sake of killing rats in anoms. Profit is what drives people. Industry should be a valid choise for a player who just started playing eve online. Currently it is not.

Ratting and industry are a false analogy.

There are many people who build and sell to their corp/alliance at a loss or just break even because they do so to promote their group’s interest.

Industry is about industry. Profiting is business. Get better at business.

This is a form of profit, where they avoid the costs of buying said items from the market for the corp.
And quite honestly, CCP should not be caring about or catering for those who build at a loss because they don’t care about profit. To cater to that crowd would be to ruin the game for the build for a profit crowd,

“You mean to tell me” refers to someone elses opinion.

Is my own opinion.

I mean its not rocket science. I do believe that everyone who does industry does it with profit in mind. You can show me examples of “But i do it for mah alliance” with profit in ur mind. Otherwise you would just buy the ships and give it to ur alliance. By using industry to provide it you negate costs which is a form of profit even thou YOU come out with a loss.

No, it’s not! 😆

I used to do it because I could make my own ammo and fuel nloc’s. I would never make a profit on the market, but it was cheaper than buying it. Not “everyone” does it for the isk profit.

I was so stupid when I 1st started, I never threw anything out. I had no idea what it might be good for in the future so I kept it. Yrs later when I needed materials to build, all I had to do was look in my storage!

That was a good way to start, but it’s just not for me. Fuel/ammo is all I need.

OMG, I actually thought CCP had reached an ultimate level of stupidity back a few changes ago but with each new change they implement I see they just keep raising the bar on that. The only positive thing I can say about CCP is that they’re consistent.

“THAT” makes it not even marginally easier. T1 ship manufacturing was just as straightforward as it is gonna be now, except for the fact now it’s _harder_ to make all faction ships and all battleships, by a _huge_ margin. Standardizing requirements ? Piss. Only HS minerals for frigs and dessies ? Who cares, to make any relevant profits industrialists will be buying these minerals anyways, just like they are now, and shipping them to nullsec for the ME.
edit: and by “harder” I mean: _more tedious_.

New players care.

The new players who want to get into industry will care that they can now much more easily make their own T1 ships out of minerals obtsined in high sec themselves.

This makes the bar of entry into ship production much lower.

At the other end of the industry spectrum the bar has been raised. Faction ships, battlecruisers, capital ships all more requirements and more complex build processes.

Industry gets a lower bar of entry and a higher ceiling for the serious industrialists. I think that’s nice for everyone.

more SP needed and more alts needed is not a higher ceiling. It’s same garbage as it was. Now, you just need to waste more in injectors and have more jobs running to achieve anything while gameplay didn’t changed. But it’s CCP, they gonna make same mistakes over and over.

It quite literally is a higher ceiling.

You now need _more characters_ (alts or other players doing part of the chain) and _more SP_ to build the higher tier stuff, which means you can expand much more before you are limited by the ceiling of max SP for this activity.

Sure, it can be annoying when you were already at the ceiling that you now need to invest more to reach the new ceiling, but it will be higher for the higher tier ships.

Sooo EVERY T1 ship will he harder / more expensive to build??

What is the point of these changes?
Last time i checked due to “clever” industry changed and mining ore redistribution costs of T1 ships increased.

Anything that involves pi is brain cancer. Pi is and should never be involved in t1 subcap production. Exactly like moon goo…

Maybe one day unicef will get into the shipbuilding business. Until then there has to be potential for profit at every step to motivate brand new players (and vets alike) to get into this area of the game.

What you are is someone with the infrastructure already in place to neutralize (as much as possible) the negative impact of this proposed change. Even those in similar situations to yourself will feel the impact of this change on their bottom line.

Needlessly at best, remember we’re talking about T1 production here.

This thing feels entirely thoughtless. Like they didn’t consider literally anything.

Remember this is the ‘higher tier’ of T1 we’re talking about. Battleships, capital ships and such. These will be more complex to build and require more materials and SP. And I see nothing wrong with that.

Low tier T1 (frigates, destroyers) will be easier to create than before.
