Activity Tracker and Portrait Background Unlocks

Provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different portrait backgrounds for their character (not account) with activity tracker goalposts.

Rather than burdening the art development team in creating more portrait backgrounds–current character portraits would be locked off behind the new activity progression tree. This would encourage players to branch out into various activities if they want to re-access those portrait backgrounds.

Seeking input on possible unlock conditions for each one (e.g. epic arc completions, ships lost, number of times ship spun, etc.)

Standings to use the corp faction icon in your picture.

Active faction warfare unit to use the military backdrop.

Waving flag like background when you have hit max standing with a corp/faction.

As outlined, this is a ‘soulbound’ asset unlock per character, not account. The intention is to reward character progression. Do people have an issue with this stance?

Pretty much like the stuff the “Opportunities” Aura gives you with a new character. But this time with “cosmetics” as a reward.

Great mix of easy and difficult to obtain challenge ideas. Grindy, obscure, and unique to Eve are all good paths to pursue.

Personally I would enjoy a few challenges related to scooping, contracting, and ‘burial’ of corpses.

Maybe that travel to X destination challenge could include ejecting a corpse in the great graveyard.

CCP has teased parts of this activity tracker (without background unlocks of course) and I believe most of their new granular endpoints only started tracking within the past six months.

The Activity Tracker holds information on different activities you have been participating in. The more active you are in an activity, the more points you accumulate for the path of that activity. The are 5 main paths: Industry, Combat, Encounters, Exploration & Resource Harvesting.


Industry
Number of Material Efficiency levels researched in blueprints.
Number of Time Efficiency levels researched in blueprints.
Number of Blueprints research to 2-20% (separate categories) Efficiency
Manufacturing of modules used to augment the capabilities of ships. i.e. signal amplifiers, CPU enhancers, cloaking devices.

This one is going to be rough on folks who already completed +8000 system pilgrimage before CCP started tracking this stat.

The biggest sucker in New Eden goes to…? The player who extracted 1 million giga joules to join the elite vampire club.

Seriously, this level of stat porn (best porn) is going to make for some fascinating epeen measuring and corporation gatekeeping. A part of me hope some player creates a global leaderboard.

I literally couldn’t hate you more, on a personal level, for even suggesting this horrible idea.

Yeah, lack of Market stats is a little surprising. A couple of ones to include should be:

Number of ships sold/bought
Number of modules sold/bought
Number of plex sold/bought
Number of plex consumed
Total ISK gained from item sales
Total ISK spent from item sales
Total ISK sent to NPC brokers from sales
Total ISK sent to structure owners from sales
Number of contracts issued
Number of contracts completed
Number of contracts failed

of course:
Total number of ship spins
Total amount of time spent ship spinning (ship spin counter is active)
