That’s an accidental outcome, btw. I mostly post in the LAGL (Like And Get Likes) thread which tends to rack in likes, and despite the forum trolls not liking anyone else than themselves there’s still some old timers who like without posting on their own. The likes system already peaked when @Alice_Saki became Queen of Likes and got gifted a carrier for it, with lots of posts and likes not only the LAGL troll thread. But I take a little pride in effectively outperforming the troll gang with quality bull (including the occasional AI slop). 🏅 ---

I can’t say for music, but here’s my 2ç on AI imagery… First, I only do photographic slop. I actively avoid using other kinds of man-made art as I am aware that’s been stolen en masse. Second, as has been said, AI is a tool. And a very limited one, compared to imagination. Also a random one, most renders are defective and some complex prompts just don’t float because the stupid thing IS stupid; put in more than 400 words and you’re threading into dangerous waters, even if your AI can deal with structured prompts and handle one element at a time. Third, “the frame is the essence of art”, what to show and what to don’t (what to prompt and what to don’t) is a creative decision, same as “whatever shows up first”. That double jointed elbow over there… was that a decision taken at the prompt? Or Zaera just shared whatever showed up first and wasn’t too bad? I don’t make slop to create something original. I like pretty things and turning words (my strongest skill) into images is something I’ve always wanted to do, provided that I can’t turn my imagination into images. Generative AI is a limited and defective tool, that requires a learning curve, and can imitate reality in many shocking ways, but it’s just an imitation. But to me? It does the job. Does it have “soul”? Frankly, most “art with soul” is niche and barely has an audience at all. Most amateur art is bad to terrible and was never meant to be anything else than someone riding their creativity, expressing themselves in all their Got No Talent glory. And that’s fine. Now, as for AI and art as a business… that’s a different beast. AI is destroying the junior entry niches and that will come to bite us in the ass later; FAI already is happening to software companies, whose seniors are burning out as they become glorified troubleshooters for bad AI code because the output has multiplied but the quality has taken a nosedive. All the small budget art jobs being not being commissioned to human artists will end up with a shortage of senior artists that make a difference… or the loss of relevance of said art. If the menu picture is AI slop and the dish won’t look anything resembling it, does it matter that a restaurant has a menu board with images of the dishes? If a local event has the 999th version of the same generic AI slop poster, will you bother to stop and read it? There’s a rabbit hole on how the value of information is inversely proportional to its quantity… and AI being able to generate massive amounts of useless information is making it worse. ---

What I know is that the poll is not really representative of how the community feels about the use of AI. It’s easy to have a couple of alts vote your way or if you have a little clique you can count on people just voting your way because it’s you. That’s how The Mittani and @Brisc_Rubal got elected in power, not because they were popular but there would be consequences if you didn’t vote them in. So the poll at least **shows you who** wants to telegraph being against and who is in favor. Ask a disgruntled ex-member of The Emperium or Goonswarm or The Initiative. They will know better not to answer because that can have consequences for their EVE game play which has become a big part of their lives. I think that ai is never just ai slop for people to go report as spam. The funny thing is when you and your 2 or three friends all report for spam then this forum auto removes the post. So you can make a bunch of alts and start getting rid of your known suspects. Then when they get angry and lash out that can be flagged for staff too so that the 2 or 3 volunteer moderators will feel inclined to close or temporarily cool down the thread. Then some bitter nerds will want to write a thread about **heavy moderation** and or the **toxic culture** of EVE or specifically the forums. There are many of these kind of forumposts that has people piling in it to often just ■■■■ in it as they say. 💩 ---

Is it AI or is she a real girl? Of course this is AI. Is it slop because it is done with no real effort reusing the same prompt and upload, probably for you purists out there, yes again. This is not Art rather this is fanservice. I have put this animated gif in a container still expecting the post to be removed because of the community finding a problem with it. This is why I started the pol. If we are no longer able to share content because we can if we want to have a problem with it easily remove it; Then I know that posting on these forums has become meaningless. It is why posting on X or Reddit is also without value because you have no freedom (of expression/opinion/thought) any more you just pretend you have it. I enjoy this fake bigchested ai girl and every day she brightens my day and every time I get yet another notification that my post has been removed or I see lots of people wanting me to not post at all on here I feel terrible about it. ---
