lock is bound to ctrl by default which makes it act on its own without a click. press ctrl and release it, and it will lock on things you don’t want to lock. I’m asking for a more precise bind that would allow me to assign lock only to Ctrl + CLICK in OV. ---

Are you sure the issue is not on your end only? Because I don’t think that’s how it works, if you hold then release `ctrl` without clicking anything then nothing should happen. I definitely don’t remember ever random stuff being targeted as a result of such action. 🤔 (Albeit I rarely sign in nowadays but I don’t think FCCCP has changed this recently or earlier.) ---

What they’re talking about happens when the overview has focus _and_ there is an overview selection. The same is also true of the keybinds for approach, orbit, warp, etc. Clicking anywhere that isn’t the overview drops focus from the overview and prevents this behavior. This doesn’t mean your issue doesn’t exist or is invalid, it means: - confusion is explained for something that occurs to you often but rarely for others - there apparently is another thing you could already try to avoid this issue ---

i think it just stems from the fact that FC doesn’t count the mouse click as a bindable button click. ---

The confusion was that for the majority of us Ctrl+click is used to lock targets, not merely Ctrl. It wasn’t until Namdor’s explanation, which you made fun of, that I understood your request. ---

if you look at the shortcuts ctrl, is the actual lock button. it doesn’t allow a mouse click to count as a bindable option.. i tried on multiple shortcuts. which is why we suggested just moving to a different button altogether. ---
