I genuinely wouldn’t know, but a quick wrinkle count would probably confirm your hypothesis.

A beau. A boyo. A steady guy. A cock scaffold, if you wish. The other end of the ball and chain. The original owner of the ‘family jewels’ now in your possession? Well, I’m _assuming_ anyway.

I think Ms Arrendis puts it quite clearly why your objection holds no water and your follow up post still fails to address the point I’m attempting to make. Both slavery and intimate relationships are subsets of human relationships, would you not agree? Relationships, healthy adult ones at any rate, are based in consent. Slavery is, by definition, a relationship NOT built on consent.

Now, you’ve raised the issue of decorum, but this only comes across as so much deflection and appeal to emotion based on what appears to be personal offense. So, please tell us rationally why slavery is okay, but discussing matters of the bedroom are off limits between adults in a public forum?

There are, of course, many different types of facility. One has heard that those producing agricultural workers are rather clinical, often removing any actual physical interaction in favour of artificial conception techniques for maximum efficiency. I would imagine they might approximate what I have heard of Caldari tube births.

In my case - as a product of one such facility, highly thought of for the quality of warriors produced - there is a degree of personal connection encouraged. Not romance of course, which would imply a lasting relationship as the goal and thus invite problems, but certainly the encouragement of tenderness. The Abbey considers this connection to improve initial fertility and to create a dynamic in the future child that instils a spiritual capacity for loyalty and Faith.

In the past, when I was required to perform my duty for the Abbey, our overseers certainly gave us time, advice and appropriate comforts to establish such an environment of tenderness. I am told it was efficient in delivering high quality progeny.

I’m sure a breeding facility would qualify as controlling what would otherwise be the romantic aspects of the slaves’ lives, Mr Tuulinen. I think if you read “romance” as “sex life” it would be clearer.

It’s more acceptable to discuss the unconsenting imprisonment and forced labour of an entire people than whether people may or may not be having intimate relations with one another.
This really does tell you all you need to understand about the empire.

Also, before someone comes back with “It’s scripture, we’re helping them”.
This is very self aggrandising scripture. It would be really nice for those pushing it to step back and actually look at it from a point of view that doesn’t place them at the centre of the universe. At the risk of being insulting it’s even more hilarious to see Aldrith push it so hard as by the terms of the Scripture he’s never going to be any more than a particularly well performing pet. Because no one is equal to the Amarr, not even the Khanid who get special status.
Stop pretending this cycle of slavery is for the betterment of anyone other than the Amarrians.

Also, its really disputable if its good for Amarrians, as the history of Minmatar-Amarr war shows. There are graveyards in Amarr empire that show how much it helped them to stick to the scriptures.

I cannot believe this must be explained…

The institution of slavery by it’s very nature is a rather public undertaking as it involves numerous parties - overseers, handlers, priests, teachers, doctors, kennel keepers, etc whereas what happens, say between husband and wife, are very private involving only the two of them.

Naked whores on every street corner doing God-knows-what to random passersby is something the Gallente may partake in, but it is revolting to those of Faith.

I think your “God” is in fact some jealous old Amarr geezer without any sexual stamina. If he would know, he would be jealous so much.

Its not a heresy when its consensual.

Right. Those of the Faith build _breeding facilities_ to store their naked whores in. Because it’s private. Intimate. Only accessible to the facility staff, hundreds of other abuse victims, and of course, the _johns_.

Slave breeding facilities are repugnant and morally wrong; a prime example of what happens when unfit Holders place a profit motive above the laws of common decency and the true goal of the institution. Our household condemns their use, and endeavors to eliminate them from the Empire.

Next complaint, please.

I also find it hilarious that a cowardly apostate hiding in the Federation, who did not have the moral fortitude to stay in the Empire to change it from within, sees herself worthy to mock someone who does possess that resolve. I act, you whine. Next time you get the urge to lecture me, place a mirror in front of yourself and redress someone with actual failures to point out.

Really, Ms Newelle? The person who first called your claim into question was me, yet you ignore me and my subsequent rebuttal to address Ms Arrendis. I understand that Ms Arrendis is probably the more prominent target, but this appears as if you are avoiding answering my questions. Must I assume that they are too difficult and problematic for you to answer?

How does this make slavery, a relationship based in the violation of consent, alright?

Translation; this form of discussion makes you uncomfortable. The fact that something makes you feel uncomfortable is not an argument against it.

I’m trying very hard to be civil but you really have some childish notions. Adults discussing intimate relationships will lead to a breakdown in society? Slut shaming? Insulting the Gallente?

You really have no moral ground to stand on, do you? Now please explain, rationally, how slavery is good but talking about sex is bad?

Whoever said consent was required? Not I. I do not ask consent from my children when dealing with them, nor do I ask when dealing with my subjects. It is their place to obey.

There are many things surrounding this topic that are illegal/sinful - they are one in the same - so called ‘erotic dancing’ for instance. Speaking of such things in public violates The Code of Demeanor. Yes, it makes me uncomfortable, because it is wrong.

I will speak with my husband about our relations unabashed, but such talk has no place in public. Sluts and whores should be shamed. I do not agree speaking truth about the Gallente in itself is insulting, it is the behavior they exhibit that is insulting.

I do have the moral high ground as I am the one adhering to The Word as best I can where you heathens and apostates reject it. Reclaiming is a duty tasked to the Faithful by God - fulfilling this duty is good - slavery is one of the methods achieving this, therefore it is good. See my answer referencing the Code of Demeanor regarding the second half of that last question.
