No I consider it fixing a mistake.

Which brings us right back to the start.

Which seems a perfectly sensible place to end this loop of arguments.

Then that fix, would you say it has been well received? For instance, do you want it?

Id settle for the dots working as they were intended, but as a lazy fix yeah it does the job. But I dont think they should be rewarded for it any more than the council should be rewarded for finally fixing potholes in the road.

Look, I can think of any number of examples where I dont expect a fix to be rewarded. Can you think of one actual real world example of the inverse?

Edit: Politics I suppose would be the killer answer

Okay, it is not ideal to you but it works and does the job, as you say. So is it then a failure?

</div>

I see where you are attempting to lead this.

The failure was the dots being rolled out broken and not fixed for over a year.
As a partial solution to that, the toggle is successful.

Should CCP be rewarded for a fix for a problem they created? I say no. You say yes.

Is there anything else to this?

Do not sidestep. We already gathered that you will use the feature, and you said that it does the job. Would that then be considered a failure, to you? You say no, that it is a success.

Some separate person might have introduced the feature, whilst another fixed it, Ramona. Should the fixer not be thanked? Some small reward anyway, for work well done, right? I think that has worth, and might promote the likelihood of further fixes down the line.

It was called doing their job. If you are suggesting they get more than paid for it, thats where we disagree.

There is no more and no less to it than that.

The reward has always been merely giving thanks. Focus.

So yeah its down to you equating thanking someone (manners) with a reward (something to encourage that behaviour again), something I made clear was not the same thing in my position quite some time ago.

So yes to : Thank you for fixing the mistake (tick)

No to : what a great job please do that again, Ill resub

Must you always devolve into irrelevant points which serve little but to mask the heart of our discussion?

It is very simple. Showing appreciation for something, promotes the likelihood of that “something” occuring again, no matter how small.

You understand this. So then tell me, is it worth it then to give thanks for succesful fixes?

As I stated previously, keep in mind that CCP is a collection of individuals not a monotonous being, so one who breaks may not necessarily be the one which finds and implements the solution.

> [@Vintus\_Turgalium](#):

Ive clarified the heart of our argument down several times now.
You think thanking someone is a reward. And that fixing a problem should be rewarded.

I think thanking someone for doing something is good manners. I dont believe a reward should be given for fixing a problem created by the person fixing it.

Thats all there is, no confusion, the two positions.

Ive agreed that this half-measure is a good thing, and I am perfectly willing to thank the person who did it. But no, I dont believe CCP should receive a pat on the back for something they _should have done a year ago_.

I dont believe there is anything more that can be added to this.

If you disagree with that binary situation, then feel free to do so rationally. Its also fine to agree with it. Given that I simply see no logical reason to Say “Good job CCP!”, I dont see anyway you are likely to change my opinion on that. And beyond that, what purpose is this argument now serving, given the binary nature of the issue has been hammered out?

Well for one I got you to admit that CCP implemented a successful fix that you appreciate and that you would even go so far as to thank the person who resolved the issue. What that means to you and what your supposed effect might be I suppose are irrelevent. That’s about it.

You see how difficult it was to arrive at a point of appreciation though, Ramona? Slowly but surely I may mend your soul yet! Hah, I jest. But this was a good fight, discussion, argument - whatever have you. Well done.

Please feel free to quote me saying otherwise?
At no point have I said this half-measure was unsuccessful. In fact, I equated it to the successful late repairing of potholes directly.
My god, you really were just doing this to score some kind of points or something?

I hold those things above to be true and also STILL dont think CCP deserves a reward for fixing their own mistkae, well halfway fixing it anyway.

Not really, I already appreciated it in that I didnt complain about it.

Took them long enough. Maybe we can expect CCP to scrap Mining altogether by next year. From what I’ve seen on the forum and in-game chat, no one likes mining so it should be removed from the game.
Modules and ships should be provided by CCP for a fee.
Frigates = $2.99
Destroyers = $4.99
Cruisers = $6.99
Battcruisers = $8.99
Battlships = $10.99
Carriers = $14.99
Dreadnoughts = $19.99
Titans = $22.99

Astraus = $ 29.99
Fortress = $ 35.99

CCP should be able to make up for that lost $100mil in a year of less.
Only other alternative is the game closing down because 85% of it’s players base a tightwads wanting to PLEX their accounts for ISK like spacebums.
