We’re related to the Jove from some common ancestor in the dim and distant past and look kow different we are. If the Drifters are related to the Jove, why haven’t they (or their representatives) asked us to kindly stop shooting them? Do they consider them as ‘rogue’ in some way?

because as you said, the difference is that joves are “distant cousins” to us, when all evidence seem to point that the sleepers are more like “parents” to the joves. And the fact that apart in the SoCT, no jove have been sighted for years does not help to know what they think of them.

maybe the inner circle have more information…

I would like to add that we don’t know exactly the age of the jove observatories, it’s very possible that they date far back to the second empire and therefore **could** even be the one to construct them. therefore it would be considered as “owned” by the intelligence behind the drifters.

> You, Teinyhr, and the rest seem to have conjured up your own image of what you wanted me to be. You manipulated my words, took them out of the context of the whole picture, and formed them into a monster of your own design. At no point did you ever ask for clarification when and if you began to become misinformed. Ignorant, you filled in the gaps yourself and brandished that as a weapon against me.

I don’t know you, all I have is what you say, and recently your words have been anything but peaceful. And before that, earlier you did say you were a “pacifist”. So, pardon me then if I’m confused when you say one thing and then another thing, ideologically completely at odds with each other. Looks like to me you don’t know what you are.

Besides, this works both ways - you keep disparaging me (and others) as " useless pure-pacifists" - which is entirely a “monster” of your mind’s design. When I’ve numerous times said I am perfectly capable and even willing to use violence if I think it’s the right course of action. Your arguments certainly have not served to convince me that it is.

Fortunately, you aren’t the only thing I have to base my actions and opinions on, and I have adjusted my stance on the Drifters lately, despite not trumpeting it around the IGS. And that is to consider them an enemy of New Eden, regardless of who started the hostilities. I still most likely disagree with ARC on the scale of the threat they present to New Eden, but certainly, through all efforts on trying to reach a diplomatic solution with them, it is apparent they are not interested. And the onus is on them to extend an olive branch to prove otherwise.
In light of this, I will participate in anti-Drifter operations in empire space if I’m invited to, provided I am not otherwise engaged or on the other side of the cluster (in which case I’d probably arrive too late to be of any use). I will also reserve the right to use my own judgement and refuse to fire on enemies that are clearly defeated and not fighting back.

However, if invited to “Hive ops” I will not enter the Drifter Hive systems as a combatant, but as a scout, and will focus my efforts there in trying to find ways into their home or industrial systems - until their resource collection or ship manufacturing efforts can be disrupted, fighting them in our space is little more than pest control. If you’re going to fight a war, fight it like one - the most feasible way of forcing a surrender is to prevent the enemy from resupplying and replenishing their numbers. I’ve put forth this approach before, by the way.

This has been presented before, and it is always summarily ignored by just about everyone. This time too, probably.

Alas, once again I find myself agreeing with Mizhara on something.

> [@Woodrow\_Ormand](#):

> I did some research, and have laid it all out in my own thread explaining why the drifters aren’t a threat to the cluster. The short version is that based on the evidence, I came to the conclusion that the drifters attack on the amarr was retaliation to the amarr committing genocide against the sleepers when they mounted large fleet operations into anoikis and obtained sleeper implants for their templar project.

While as I have many times said that I agree and have even tried to prove in numbers that their threat level to the cluster at large is largely blown out of proportion, nevertheless they seem to be at war with denizens of New Eden, and what is going on now is an interbellum. If they want peace, they will have to open the negotiations, because no amount of trying from our part seems to get any kind of response. I still maintain also, that it does not mean we should stop trying, but clearly the ball is in their court if they respond or not.

Certainly they could be - but so far for all intents and purposes they’ve been content inhabiting, for what is guesstimated to be thousands of years, an area of space we have not even dreamed of, and by the looks of it we’re not going to afford them the same courtesy not to butt in to their affairs. It is simply their willingness to leave the empires be for so long (of course it is possible they simply were unaware that we exist) that I’m going to assume they’re at least people we can potentially reason with, especially in the face of a mutual enemy.

Regardless - both Drifters and this newly found Triglavian Collective are still largely enigmas. While we have built behavioural analysis’ and other catalogues of information of them (them being the Drifters in this case), both entities as civilizations are entirely unkown to us.

I know enough about these Drifters to be against them. They’ve already proven themshelves to the mockery of humanity. Wearing the literal flesh of our dead and destroying everything inside it and replacing it with machinery. These things aren’t human they’re just animatronics using a corpse as a costume.

What I know about these Triglavians thus far undoubtely makes me see them as a friend. Can that change? Almost certainly. But if they got score to settle with the Drifters then I’m all in favor of lending them a hand in their conflict against this filth and contribute to a peaceful relationship with them and the rest of New Eden.

If friendship is what we seek with these Triglavians then we need to show them we got mutral enemies. The Drifters.

Ever heard of cremating a corpse? Instead of burying a corpse to rot and taunting the spirit that harboured within. Your burn it, turn it into ash and destroy the body. So that the spirit may move on into their spiritual form. Or remain whole inside that of a clone.

A clone

Made with biomass.

Much like you would burn a corpse to ash we would turn a corpse into biomass. A statement to the deceased that they’re not done in the physical realm. That even in death they want their body to be put to some use.

But the body would still need to be destroyed.

So you turn it into biomass. Which could be combined with biomass of crops and plant life. All beings of our nature. Biomass and clones are natural when you look at the raw materials.

But the Drifters? Just take the corpse as it is and got it out and stuff metal and plastic in it and use it as a puppet for their own agenda. To continue the harvesting.

So your clone is made from a corpse, no matter how you try to dress it up. Dead is dead, calling the remains ‘biomass’, ‘spare parts’ or Chloe makes absolutely no difference whatsover. All high quality capsuleer clones are produced from the dead, with various parts removed, replaced and enhanced. To believe anything different is deluding yourself.

Tell me this…Why dont the Drifters just use clones? They’re own clones.

Also you keep overlooking the recycling part thats the primary issue. The corpse needs to he destroyed. The spirit must move on and have its connection severed from its former corpse. Yes, clones are made from the dead but we show the dead respect.

These things ae not human. Just machinery wearing our flesh. They’re insulting the dead. Theyre not making their own bodies to fit their own genetic code or DNA for they have none. They’re not human, they steal humanity form someone else.

No access to original material, or their original bodies are unsuitable for any number of reasons such as defects. Those are just two possible reasons from the top of my head.

There are other threads to have this debate in though.

Probably dont even have any. Probably just want to use corpses to trick fools into thinking they’re human.
