Are they updating the UI again?

I think it’s a concept.

What does that mean

I really hope the hotbar UI update doesent get developed in isolation. Players tend to have a lot of windows open in-game at the same time. So any update to the ā€œhot barā€ should keep this mind.

While I agree that EVE’s UI could use many updates, I’m deeply concerned whenever they do it. Never forget Unified Inventory, let alone all the new windows that insist on opening in fullscreen.

It’s… a… CONCEPT.
Pitchforks and torches don’t go on sale until FanFest starts…

I’m sorry, but take your excuse elsewhere. It’s like people who kept saying Vanguard is ā€˜pre-alpha’ when feedback was given — and now it’s releasing in July–September, looking barely different from that ā€˜pre-alpha.’

I find your lack of reading comprehension disturbing…

Wdym?

I’m saying it’s a concept. Pretty sure the original Reddit post indicated this as well. If I had a nickel for every ā€œconceptā€ that CCP (FC) hinted at that didn’t make it into the game… I’d have a rather large bag of nickels.

Addendum: Maybe some (or even all) of this makes into the game (eventually). But short of a mass logoff in protest and shooting a memorial - when did anything the players objected to have any kind of impact?

Im curious about previous concepts that had been shown at fanfest and didnt materialize.

But this also begs the question why show things at fanfest that probably wont make it into the game.. :face_vomiting:

Well, I’m going off memory - but there have been numerous ship design aspects that never made it into the game (or were delayed for many years, ie: the carrier graphic update). I probably shouldn’t even mention all the failed map overhauls…

Which mean it is still time to rally up with pitchforks and torches before they add it. Once they add it it won’t go away because they spend $$$ on that ā– ā– ā– ā– .

Torch away. It’s either a concept or already slated for implementation. If it has one useful feature for the blobs, we’ll see it soon enough…

Seriously now, it doesn’t look that bad. It is hard to say just from screenshot but it looks more modern. Could be an actual improvement. Lets hope it will be…

Please stop as I can only take so much!:pensive_face:

If they update the shield/armor/hull thing they should probably update the same thing when you target something because ideally it should match

Update

Current

There’s been a few things that players objected to which were removed or changed without doing mass log-outs and shooting memorials…

In the past, some of the bad game implementations were posted in the forums which turned into mega-threads.. Along with direct messages, those threads usually brought the issues to the attention of CSM members and then to game Devs… Course that took time but eventually those bad game implementations were removed or changed…

For example:
Loot Scatter from Hacking Cans
NPC Research & Manufacturing Teams
Excessively bright Solar Flare light (in-space)
Diminished low level Docking Bay light (in-station)

Avoiding a situation like the ā€œShow infoā€ window is ideal. At the moment its different for ships and modules.

When you ā€œshow infoā€ on a ship the pages are shown as icons in a sidebar, but when you show info on a module the pages are sorted by tabs.

Ideally things would be more clean.. But i digress.

And just to be clear this also ties into the new player experience. I mean the new player experience is not some fancy intro and dialogue sequence.. Its the game having a clean and simple and intuitive UI. BUT I DIGRESS. AND IM OUT

It literally says ā€˜ā€˜GUI concept preview from fanfest’’ without even opening the link!

Aside from that, I personally like the looks of that concept. Much cleaner and, yeah, a contemporary look.
