As evidenced in part by her natty suit.

Note that this basically means that out of all the failure points in capsuleer society she failed perhaps most thoroughly and eagerly: treason as a point of pride.

I guess it’s important to be comfortable with who you are, seize your destiny with both hands and such. I do wonder whether her masters are actually proud of her, though: basically, they put us to proving on the matter of group cohesion and loyalty, and we failed.

She’s evidently at least in the running for having failed hardest.

There is no council against caution. I think we are all sensitive to how badly events may transpire.

Try to imagine what could be accomplished if humanity grows to embrace this altered state of affairs.
Where would you focus our collective consciousness if there were no strife at the threshold?

Oh, given a world at peace I’d want to see us focus our attention on wider exploration of just about every sort. The universe is a labyrinth of wonders; what better way to celebrate being alive than to explore it?

Also, it’d be great to see some effort put towards creating and maintaining wisdom, both in leaders and their people. It’s too rare, and cleverness is no substitute. Maybe that way a peace could actually last. As a thought, emphasizing broad knowledge even among specialists might help people not to become confined to a single, narrow way of thinking.

A golden age of peace and learning could follow. That would be something to see.

Sadly I don’t have a lot of hope I’ll live to see it.

This may be a Jin-Mai-ism, forgive me.
It is my understanding that territory fought over by a divided faction in a civil-war like activity is termed Dissolute.
I believe the Triglavian Clades lack the unity of purpose they prviously displayed and are warring amongst themselves. Hence: Dissolute ground.

Very respectfully, Ms. Tem, it’s pretty likely that the Triglavians have always been going at each other like this for as long as we’ve been in contact with them. An example of this would be: Veles announces “playful communion” with the rogue drones that have just arrived in the Abyss (the degree to which this is actually fun or beneficial for the rogue drones is unclear); Svarog objects; Perun shrugs. No consensus.

To resolve the question, Svarog sets out scads of massive structures for the sole purpose of destroying Veles’ new playmates. (They also kill our drones and light missiles, but that’s a side-benefit, not a primary one.) The short-range kind are so effective you can win a fight with a whole swarm of Lance-type rogue drones just by hugging one, and you can exploit them to split Triglavian defensive cross-rep and tear Triglavian ships apart while they try to keep the drone up.

Has Svarog said, “Oops, we might have overdone it. This is plainly working against us,” and withdrawn or repurposed their suppressor units? No, no they have not.

It’s likely this is just kind of, uh, “how they do.” If there’s an issue, they fight it out. Whoever wins plainly has the right of it.

There have to be things they don’t actually, physically fight over, though?

(“My favorite color is blue.” “Orange is plainly superior! DIE!”)

Just, we haven’t seen how they resolve more … uh … non-military-adjacent disagreements, I guess.

Basically, that unity of purpose, the “Flow of Vyraj,” is sort of a constant. What they seem to fight over is the how, and I guess also probably the allocation of resources. Fighting your way through a gauntlet of opponents seems to be just kind of proving your worth; do it, and they’ll throw some stuff your way.

They seem to approach each other in just the same way an awful lot. The only question is really, how far.

(“You want a sandwich? … Come and take it!”)

Not to be indelicate, but these are considerable resources for the necro-gnostic-rites of Drifters and the Nation. They are more secure where they are, whatever state they are in.

The key performance indicator for tracking success in our cluster is the ISK value of whatever gets blown up. That has always been the case, and I suspect the mission will “not disappoint™.”

However, for a brief period, there was an exchange of ideas between those affiliated with the Collective and those not. Furthermore, those affiliated with the Collective demonstrated a willingness to gather up civilians and allow them to leave the system.

The proposition is not just a form of progress, it is progress. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with relevant intelligence agencies, could take that progress to heart by identifying counterparts in the Collective itself with whom to open dialog - and then actually open dialog.

If it was in the interests of a people with near-infinite patience and even longer memories, perhaps.
But not in the short term in the urgent circumstance we are discussing here.

If these entities and their visitors, welcome or not, along with their attendant ideologies are going to occupy the same volume of space, might it not be prudent to prepare some common ground for them to stand on?

My recommendation was simply to call upon the diplomatic cores arts to identify that understanding.

If I may offer a short clarification, the three clades are not at war. Engagements between them are controlled and limited in their scope and are an integral part of their doctrine of Proving, especially during times of war like they are facing now. They intend to harden one another’s defenses and drill their military forces in preparation of fighting actual enemies. Peace between the Convocation and the Empires is very attainable, but you cannot ‘reconcile’ the clades any more than you can get Caldari megacorporations, Matari tribes or Amarr houses from competing.

It is logical to conduct delicate negotiations in private, given the near certainty Other Forces will see the exercise as an opportunity to increase the ISK value of explosions they are associated with.

However, if the entire process had been private, the cluster would not have seen the possibility for non-violent extraction of civilians so cleanly demonstrated. The dialog has therefore created public value beyond the success or explosive failure of one operation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should not let this opening pass. The Federation cannot speak for the cluster’s other powers, of course, but this is an opportunity for the president to address a humanitarian crisis in a diplomatic manner.

Pursuing a diplomatic solution would, in turn, celebrate the identity of the Gallente Federation.

I had to listen to Geana giggle like a muzzled hyena at Sahara’s acerbic jibe.

@Tanagura_Amoii, help me clear something up. Aligned capsuleers do not vote in Federal elections because they are legally categorised as dead upon qualification, correct? Meanwhile, Roden, a capsualeer, somehow managed to snake his way into presidential power…

What do you suppose makes darling Celes think she can count on our support in fulfilling her campaign promises if we chattering ghosts remain unheard and powerless.
