I just dont see what would be gained. Why not pull everyone off the rock and sacrifice a drone for it? I dont see how arbitrarily reducing m3/hr improves wealth. Or how making mining a platespinning grind makes it more fun. Why not go the whole FNAF and make it so you have to spam dscan or get dropped on by NPC gankers. (To elaborate on a plate-spinning mechanic) Regardless, if its not about high sec ice mining bots, its off-topic. ---

Your suggestion basically inflicts damage on those that for one reason or another can’t, or don’t feel the need to, min/max their mining while sharing resources with others, by fitting a survey scanner which takes up a valuable tanking slot on every mining ship. CODE. will love it, the above miners, of which there are many, not so much. Go away. ---

So how exactly do you know they are bots? I mine ice now and then and I dont think I have seen anything odd that would be a bot. A few afk Orca miners maybe, but that’s not botting. So what would I look for? ---

No. By making resources scarce it will reduce supply leaving the same demand. Prices would go through the roof and it will make even more incentive to mine the living hell out of what’s left. With bots and stuff. What we really need is more ice belts, not less, to the point when there is no good reason to send bots out there.
