Some time ago, the names of different ore grades were simplified to “grade,” which was a positive change, especially for newer players. However, I still think the ores includes unnecessary complexity. What if higher-grade rock provided a hidden yield bonus instead? This bonus could be random, work like a mining critical hit, or simply increase or decrease the chance of critical results. The final product would still just be ore. I do not see much value in having five separate versions of the same ore grade-0, grade-1 (normal ore), grade-2, grade-3, and grade-4. Using a single ore type would make industrial gameplay more straightforward. While different ore grades can occasionally create good market opportunities, I am not sure that this added layer of complexity truly benefits the game.
