# Compression module on mining ships

Was wondering if anyone has put forwards the idea of a compression module that would fit in a low slot on ships like the Mack or Coveter, much like how garbage trucks are fitted with compactors. This would allow for a mining ship to compress their own ore as they mine on grid. No bonuses or anything, just personal compression, and they have to give up a low slot to fit the thing.

Just tossing this out there.

in my opinion that would make the exhumers to OP and make it so that porpoises and orcas became obsolete, but then again, an idea like that _might_ work

In-space compression is supposed to be a reward for cooperating with a mining support ship, and not just that, but also requires taking the risk of sieging.

Your suggestion makes it trivially easy for any miner to compress, reduces benefits of cooperstion and removes big reasons for players to take the risk to siege.

Not a good change.
