That’s because all you nullbear cave dwellers are assholes.

“Stop mining in high sec. you’re even dumber than anyone else.”

“LOL! You talk about efficiency!”

And you wonder why I don’t like you.

P.S. I came back to this thread and started posting again because you all talking about me in a derogatory way. Of course I had an attitude. Nothing about Null Sec players is appealing if you just go by what you see in these forums.

You make decent isk doing level 4 mining missions if you buy the correct items with loyalty points and sell the items on the market. If your solo mining in high sec do mining missions….. don’t just suck veldspar etc…. Much better isk to do missions and as a added bonus you build up your standings too. Branch out and try new things. Heck maybe even find a friend and do a home front mining encounter. Those are designed for ventures and pioneers even. There’s a lot of high sec mining to do besides mining regular asteroids.

Thanks for the mention, Christmas in California was great.
👋

I am not recruiting. My corp is one family member, a good friend of said family member, and myself. I would recruit, however corp building is not my thing, there are spies in corps, and members don’t always remember this is only a game.

**How does my mining school work?**
Well I have been away since before Thanksgiving, so it hasn’t been at 100%. Last year we had an astrahus in highsec and we got wardeced. I plan to replace the astrahus this year, for the free rent and clone bay. The station isn’t important, just something I want to do on the side.

We give away free mining vessels to new miners and at present we have an overstock of ventures. There is no “catch” to the free ship just ask any BRUCE miner in the corp. I know there is a guy Mike Azariah, who also gifts free ships. Mike has no issues with us, he even overstocked us just before I went on vacation. He tends to lean toward PvP fighting ships and I am sticking to ventures for now.

Along with the free ship, one of our BRUCE miners can take you out and assist you in setting up your private mining site. We pick locations in lowsec based upon traffic, available ore, and ease to get ore to Jita, or one of the other major trade hubs. We try our best to get you up and running your own solo alpha mining operation. Staying alpha or becoming omega is entirely your choice, but we don’t fly barges even if we could.

**How much ISK can I mine as an alpha?**
I can make several billion per month without much effort. How much effort is the key between playing and working. I could get free omega by mining about 2.5 to 3 billion ISK per month, but then it seems more like work and a lot less like playing.

This is an **example only** , markets will vary.
Vermillion Myko is buying @ 71,000 ISK per unit, Ventures hold 500 units and mine at a rate of 10 per minute. This could be expressed as 35.5 million ISK per hour, but you need to take off roughly 10% for tax, at my current skill level it is 7.5%. For the sake of argument, let’s call it 30 million per hour and you play for 3 hours without incident is 90 million. In 30 days you should put you at 2.7 billion ISK. If you plan to do this for free omega, I would rack up the ISK for a few months and wait for a sale. Then you can take a break from mining and go shoot someone.

**New Territory**
I am currently looking at how to profit in Pochven being an alpha miner. At present, you can make a profit there, but not like kernite mining in lowsec. I don’t do wormholes because of the ratting need. John Rochard can explain wormholes best in our corp and why it is fun, but not as profitable.

Mine Safe ⛏

There is actually interesting point to be made on this front.

Back during the 23.39.0dev1/2/3 data sets.

The Endurance was given 25 bandwidth and 50m3 drone bay.

At the time it was a bit overkill, and basically was a tankier Astero of sorts. And there was some stink because of its efficiency of operation in Abyssal space. [IE it was being used not as a Miner but a PVE ship] So this was shelved.

But, if the OP is correct…maybe its time to dust off the concept…and maybe buff the Endurance to that standard again. 25 Bandwidth Drones + 50m3 Drone Bay. that was tested in this format.

However, I should also point out that ships like the Prospect can to “an extent” signature tank most NPCs.

However, I would also like to note…that NPCs also negate any “defensive usage” of cloak. Because once they lock you…you can’t cloak. Also any obstacles/hit boxes…ore distances will also preclude cloak defense. And alot of times new content is very buggy on hit boxes…or plain just refuses to allow you to cloak.

Same goes for the Endurance…although it by default has to decloak to warp anywhere. But the NPCs also will negate it being able to cloak up and move away.

Afterburn is a wise choice of option…signature wise. Works the best with Prospect + Halo Implants. However, I will be frank the align time gets screwy…so using AB is a catch 22 in a literal sense if you get a hostile warping into your little ore anom with cycles going “hot” - starting. Means long align easier to catch.

Another interesting problem is not being discussed here as well. Some NPCs jam or even warp disrupt So an Afterburner fit frigate is going to have a really bad day. (I have personally experienced both scenarios…not fun.) Hence why I am not a fan of mining in Caldari lowsec…because the NPCs always delock me from my rocks…and screw up my cycles. (loss of ore etc.) Minmatar Lowsec has some NPCs that warp disrupt/scram. So if you are very unlucky and get one of the fast tackle NPCs your Afterburn fit ship is straight out of luck.

Some of the NPCs also are a bit more punchy to smaller solo ships…frigates/destroyers than most would like as well. Most frigates can to a limited extent defend themselves drone wise. Destroyer are probably the best equipped…but ships like the Prospect are straight out of luck.

Please do not do this if you are looking to play Eve. Mining 3 hrs a day for a month to pay for Omega, is a ridiculous number of hours for 15 bucks subscription. Go work 1 hr to pay for the sub. Then play Eve when you enjoy it.

That $15 converts to £11.16 if we paid the same, a month here in the UK is $22, or £16 sterling.

No matter which game you play that isn’t a cheap sub.

Not that the actual amount is of any value for the thread, but since you started it: If you would use the proper mechanics and buy game codes, you could pay almost the same. Just don’t buy at CCP and buy for the $ price with a service doing the currency conversion for you.

EVE may not be cheap, but compared to the biggest MMO on the market, WoW, it’s not expensive either.

EVE asks no extra money for expansions and has larger bulk discounts so while it is cheaper than WoW to buy the game and a couple of months its also considerably cheaper than the leading MMO in the long term.

Umm…in the US Steam Store. Omega Time for 1 month is about 20USD. With depending on state a sales/VAT tax applied. So its more like 22USD.

Its 20 USD on the EVE Online store.

Unless you have people using the gauge of buy in bulk…12 months 144 USD = 12 USD per month.
Steam Store that is 158-160USD with taxes.

Which may seem “cost effective” but most people can’t purchase like that.

So then internal game funding becomes the main drive. Now CCP has actually cut off most avenues for alphas to work their way into omega…via free to play methods. or one could say free to play → free to pay. IE using your free to play time to then get omega time payment.

But like CCP blocks Lv4 from Alphas…because that was an avenue for alpha players to get into Omega. Circa 2020 that was an option. Right now the only options.

Is either 20USD per month. Or PLEX (500 units) but that is 25 USD baseline. Or you grind or get highly lucky in exploration with some item(s) that can be NPC turned in for ISK enough for the market PLEX (4.5-4.6M ISK per unit)

I will be honest though…price conversion between countries makes this much harder to calculate.

You present a bit of a false dilemma there. 1 month or 12 months, one being expensive and the other unaffordable.

You _do_ know there are other payment options between ‘1 month’ and ‘12 months’ right?

Anyone who isn’t new and just trying the game for a single month would buy at least 3 months at 16 a month, I presume, which already rapidly reduces the price of 20 to 16 a month.

And if in your situation you cannot afford 48 dollars to cover three months on a game you plan to play multiple months I don’t think it is wise to spend 20 on a single one. Why not play for free as Alpha then?

Or just play the game as an Alpha, don’t sweat trying to get omega asap, and just enjoy the game, then buy omega when you can afford to, either in game PLEX or with a sub. Once you are Omega, you can go after those more rewarding incomes.

Playing and paying for EVE via Steam is both the worst option you could pick anyway. You effectively pay for an “easy access” method, that is not much easier than any other method and you miss out on most offers and rebates available in the other stores. The steam store is limited and expensive beyond your wildest imagination.

There is one thing. Steams EVE sales…tend to last longer than CCPs. Sometime have bigger percentages as well.

And they are sometimes out of synch from CCPs 2week-1 monthly sale system. So sometimes they are ahead…or behind…which does allow some to get access to things.

Also Steam players do have a 3x advantage on various packs and materials.

But the OP does have a point…conversion rates vary wildly and this does make EVE a bit more expensive depending on region.

I pay an extra percentage as a tax as well. Yes you can do direct business with CCP, much like Wargaming. But some people do have their reasons not to.

For me Steam is convenience and buffer. So its not really a major problem…I just budget carefully and wait on things.

I was giving them the options. I don’t mine to plex my account. If I were to get omega I would buy it direct. I also agree with @Spacetramp_Drago reply the cost in the states is not $15 and while minimum wages in many states are closer to $11 per hour, you are looking at maybe 3 hours of work wages as opposed to 3 hours of idle mining in this game. Minimum wage in Texas is only $7.25 while you are quoting the highest in California or Connecticut minimum wage.

I have also seen people who divide the omega cost by 30 stating $20 divided by the 30 days is only 66 cents per day. However to be honest, I don’t play this every day, more like 3 to 4 days per week. For estimation, let’s say you play for 15 days per month, $1.33 per day. Sounds nice, but they don’t sell it by the day.

Also you said,

> [@Yukisa](#):

I was talking about a 3 month subscription and not a 1 month. You missed this part about,

However I do agree, I would not do this at all. I have better things to invest my ISK in than omega.
