Not people in general, “bulk” afk VNI ratting botters are the main target here as far as I have understood it.
But I wish they would have chosen something other than VNI drone speed bonus nerfing and increasing the signature of the VNI - but I’m (still) not sure what the alternative should have been.

> So what, I’m a casual player, I actually pay for my subscription. I don’t want to be spending hours every day grinding for ISK just so I can have fun on a Saturday. I rat in my VNI and spend the ISK to buy ships for PVP. That’s all I’m interested in doing in this game but if CCP wants to force me to spend ours grinding for ISK w/o actually doing what I want to do in the game then well they will not be getting my subscription money every month. I’ll switch to alpha and login from time to time to do some frig pvp….

Pretty much every other single game out there, doesn’t require you to constantly replenish your assets after suffering losses. Eve is literally built on the fact that what you fly, you forever risk losing, and as such, must also find ways to fund the replacements.

If you don’t want to grind for as much ISK/resources, then fly less expensive ships. That’s what most pure PvPers tend to do. If you want to fly the juicy stuff, then congrats, get into the grinder.

One of the things that makes EVE different (and I think better) is that there are two ways to cover a subscription - either pay for it directly, or earn the isk in game to pay for the plex. With Alphas and Omegas already we have a bifurcation, and I don’t think it would be a good idea to create a third one between Omegas that plex and Omegas that subscribe. The reality is that subscription is already a better deal for players because it’s 14.95 a month, as opposed to 500 plex (one month’s game time) which costs 19.95 if you’re buying the plex from the store. So, in the end, you’re getting a better deal subscribing. I think that’s probably enough of an incentive right there.

It’s usually a good basis for balance changes. Since Eve culture is very much about min-maxing, the ship(s) that are most popular are usually the ones that are most powerful, and should be scrutinized out of a balance perspective.

The fact that we’ve come to a point that you weren’t even competitive in mining without having a Rorqual, almost making it a requirement to fly one in order to keep up, speaks volumes in terms of how out of whack Rorquals were.

You’re a renter in the biggest rental group in the game, protected by one of the largest supercap fleets in the game.

> I honestly don’t have the actual answers on how to nerf the impact a super umbrella have that allows almost riskfree crabbing in NS, other than scarcity and spreading people out, effectively thinning the umbrella.

Speaking as a guy who mainly did nullsec roaming who obviously has no bias at all the only real problem with super umbrellas is the word super. If alliances were bridging in subcap gangs, even blobs, they’d still save stuff and actually start a fight at the same time.

When I resubbed in 2015 I moved from the big nullsec alliance life to a small gang corp and we got actual subcap fights in nullsec every single day. When I let my subs lapse again last year that play style was practically dead, replaced with FAX and supers everywhere you go. I honestly don’t know what we as a community gained through this shift but we lost a play style that filled nullsec with little skirmishes that everyone could take part in. It wasn’t even expensive to take part in. No isk grinding required, most alliances SRP t1 hulls and tacklers.

I got one! How about ‘don’t need to spend your ISK on PLEX to maintain the faster training time you get as a subscriber!’

Cuz, you know, if you’re subbed with actual money, you _are_ getting some ISK every month, in effect. And you’re getting a faster training time than alpha clones. So good job! Your proposed benefits already exist!

So what’s the problem? 50-60 mil per hour is a very good ratting figure, and the fact that you can pretty much do it AFK makes it even worse.

Regardless. The changes to the VNI has maybe an impact of 5% reduced ISK/hour, due to slightly longer travel times between targets for the drones. And the drones spend the majority of the time shooting battleships anyway.

The core principle of the game, as I wrote above, still remains though. If that concept doesn’t suit you, then quite frankly, maybe Eve doesn’t suit you.

Why should we want to start a fight? I mean, I’m all for ‘your PVE has been interrupted by PVP you didn’t want!’ but that goes both ways. If you can interrupt someone’s isk-making in a way _they_ don’t want, then they can respond in a way _you_ don’t want. Seems perfectly fair to me.

That’s very true. But how many caps are actively being flown in delve, and how big is the percentage out of those that actually end up dying?
