Another example of CCP not knowing what they want to do or how they want to achieve it. They forced groups to spread out. So groups spread out. That left less room for smaller alliances. They introduced game mechanics that made it important to field 10k players to attack a staging KS. So players gathered 10k players to defend or attack a staging KS.

CCP made logistics annoying and tedious, so groups joined together to make it a shared problem and thus easier to handle.

Now CCP is trying to directly interfere with Alliances and punish players for spreading out, in the manner they intended.

This will not help small groups, because small groups won’t be able to attack large groups, thus force projection isn’t a factor for small groups. This will annoy large groups and force them to consolidate into mega Alliances. This will however stagnate wars, because now it’s just boring. You want to take a 150 man fleet out to go fight someone, now it’s 30 jumps each way or you kill a Ansi’s capacitor for a day. So you don’t take random roaming fleets.

CCP can’t decide what they want to do, they refuse to stick to any concrete plan, and they only listen to the loudest voices on Reddit. There is no iteration that’ll make this a good idea. Your whole approach needs to change. You need to deliver in game tools that make alliance management easier, you need to allow groups to grow larger in fewer systems, you need to improve PVP, and create rewards for random PVP encounters, you need to balance sig tanking and tackling mechanics, you need to buff tracking and damage between ship sizes, you need to create in space objectives for small gangs that emphasize fun pvp.

> We’re also removing tolling from ansiblexes since they will only be applying to an alliance.

By the way, why are you removing the income generated by these gates? Do you think it’s free to keep these damn things fueled? Since you haven’t implemented an alliance tax to the game, how do you think an expense like this can be funded?

Ok, now I’m done… 😛

and people doing things in high sec even if they are mainly in null is fine. Fc did mess up the wardec system not null. FC did pretty much cause the cementation of power that they now so despretly want to adress. And this will not cause to much of a shift either the null blocks will just organize in a more favorable structure and i am afraid that means lots of consolidation in bigger fewer alliances. i dont think this is a good direction as coalitons can easier split then a alliance the binding energy so to say of a alliance is way higher.

So with the proposed changes, only the alliance controlling the Ansiblex Jump Bridge is on the access list. Feedback about that is mixed, as far as I can see on reddit, discord and the EVE forums.

Personally, after thinking about it some more, I like the change, since it allows FC to implement further changes that allow players to manipulate Ansiblex gates, to add other entities to that ACL.

**Does that sound like hacking? Sure sounds like hacking to me.**
If you come up next to an Ansiblex that would be very convenient for your space travels, nobody is around using it and the only resource that is lost is some capacitor, why not allow players to temporary add themselves to the ACL after spending some time with a data probe?

**Ok, but not everyone in my fleet wants to spend time hacking.**
Oh, you want to be a criminal on a larger scale? Well there is pirate factions and lately the Deathless who specialize in that kind of thing. Surely their LP shops can offer you _something_ like a structure that lets you add your corp/alliance (pirate LP shop) or makes the gate open for the public (Deathless LP shop) for a short amount of time. Basically like a mobile cyno jammer but it _enables_ travel instead of blocking it. Don’t like it? Shoot it.

**Will that not be abused by the coalitions, so the change does nothing?**
Maybe, but there are a lot of variables that FC can adjust here like cost, hitpoints, time until auto-destruction, volume (maybe a Navy variant that requires a freighter to deploy, but lets you do that very important move op with all of the people that you like better than the people two regions over, but not enough to actually have them in your alliance).

Space is changing, change it more!

If I am not wrong there is only Alliance ACL mentioned somewhere in the devblog. So the rest is just you guessing what might happen.

I feel the ACL restrictions are awesome. Less wardec-free haulers, less out-of-alliance-spies, less guessing who might be aligned with whom, it will be a much better game for everyone but the people who actually do care what coalitions are established today, whom they fight and how they might affect me

I do not even need a spy char in every coalition to check out who is blue to whom

And that “only Alliance ACL mentioned” is exactly the reason why smaller alliances will be forced to join bigger alliances to have access to infra they need.

Not at all.

Spies will still be out of alliances, because they cannot spy otherwise.
Haulers for HS will still be in war-immune corps, even if that means they cannot take ansiblexes anymore.

It changes very little, besides an additional push for players to join the largest alliances instead of a smaller one.

There was also the WWB going on. But the fact is that CCP listened to elitepvp crowd and shot itself in the foot. They calmed down for a bit and did reasonably ok expansions (let’s ignore making 0.0 more tedious which again benefits only large groups) but now we are back to elitepvp agenda.

> Easy way to solve a lot of the problems is to put a hard cap on the number of players in an alliance . I know a lot of people will not be happy with this , but have the max at say 10-20k … if CCP wants to reinvigorate the smaller alliances and such , i see this as the only way to really do that by forcing the larger alliances/coalations to slim down , thus instantly making small alliances feasable again

You realise that this is a game? People don’t have to play? Only reason majority of us play it is due to social bonds with your group. Limiting this is the best way to kill the game. It’s like CCPs push for more scripted story. The only thing that sets eve apart from other games is sandbox and player agency. Remove that and you have a boring tedious game.

No, because other changes on the list actively encourage having other alliances build and maintain their own; it just doesnt look good for staging systems that you currently have where everyone sits all day waiting to join a blob and respond to anywhere within 3 regions fast… it will however encourage folks to actually defend their own stuff… but like the post says, capacitor and therefore jumping power is limited by distance to capital system, should be fine; no ones really using those far systems anyway.

Big groups have titans if they really need to defend something they just cant protect stuff on the other side of the galaxy as easy as defending the edge of their constellation which is a good thing and exactly te sort of thing this is looking to change.

Problem is that CCP devs (ones “balancing the game”) come from elite pvp crowd. Ones that consider it a good game if they get free ganks and nobody shoots back. Problem with that approach is that it demands that rest of us just keep undocking ships for them to kill (Preferrably by plexing them). Every single time CCP listened to this crowd the game got worse. Then they panic and get forced to listen to people who actually have more than half a brain cell and can analyse effects and consequences of changes.

Small gang pvp exists. There are plenty of groups that do it. Of course you will not get that when you enter core space of major alliance (for obvious reason). elite pvpers hide in perfectly safe NPC stations while we don’t have that option so we have to actually respond to threats militarily (something that CCP claims is a good thing but somehow always want to nerf).
