It was very much a grimdark setting where “the only space monsters are other humans”. Dr Who and Daleks are unequivocally aliens. They’re not humans. They introduce into the EVE setting, the knowledge that humans are not the only intelligent life in the universe. This is a big thing. It also means, that all the existing empires knowledge of humanitys origins is now incontrovertibly wrong. The foundations of the amarr religion, the basis of gallente philosophy, the Minmatar’s spirits and mythology - all now objectively wrong, because of the insertion of this Dr who stuff.
